I Prayed have prayed
Lord, we ask You to protect America from all threats. In a world where threats are always changing and evolving, give our military's leaders wisdom and guidance.

The Pentagon wants every major U.S. military installation to be able to run on its own for at least 90 days, with no help from the civilian power grid or outside fuel and water supplies, under a new homeland defense initiative called FORTRESS America.

Have you taken your place on the wall?

From The Epoch Times:

The Pentagon is planning for its major military installations across the United States to be able to operate off-grid for at least 90 days without relying on civilian power grids, external fuel, or water supplies, its chief spokesman confirmed on Oct. 25.

…

“We don’t want to rely on standard civilian municipal infrastructure to run our national defense. We just simply can’t. It’s an intolerable risk,” Parnell told Fox News.

…

“We are building long-overdue strategic reserves, deep enough to fight through disruption,” he said. “We’re hardening every installation on American soil against cyberintrusion, sabotage, and drones.”

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth framed the program in stark terms when he announced it at Quantico on Sept. 30. He said that if an adversary takes down the grid, whether by cyberattack or sabotage, America’s bases must stay lit and its command centers must never go dark. His memo ordered a dedicated FORTRESS America program office set up within 30 days. The goal goes well beyond earlier planning. A 2021 Air Force energy plan warned of power disruptions lasting 30 days or more, but the new program aims for full independence at every major installation.

Some of the hardware is already on the way. In August, the Army selected Fort Bragg, Fort Campbell, Fort Hood, Fort Benning, and Fort Drum to host nuclear microreactors under its Janus Program, which is worth up to $2.2 billion. The first reactor is targeted for September 2028, and the bases will stay connected to their local grids after the reactors come online. America isn’t alone in this thinking. Britain’s defense secretary has warned that his country may have a little over 1,000 days to prepare for a possible attack, and British households are being urged to stock water, food, and emergency supplies.

There’s a spiritual dimension to the moment as well. In the same Sept. 30 address, Hegseth announced a new Office of Religious Affairs that reports directly to the department’s top leadership.

“Unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain” (Psalm 127:1). Let’s thank God for leaders who are willing to face hard threats honestly instead of trusting outdated assumptions, and let’s pray for wisdom for Secretary Hegseth, Sean Parnell, and the planners carrying out FORTRESS America. Let’s pray that every scheme of hostile nations, hackers, and saboteurs against our grid and our bases will be exposed and frustrated before it can be carried out. Military bases aren’t the only places that depend on the grid, so let’s also pray for the hospitals, water systems, and families who rely on it every day. Above all, let’s pray that America puts its ultimate trust not in reactors and reserves but in the Lord, who alone keeps the nation secure.
