A new national survey commissioned by Tea Party Patriots Action found broad support for several election integrity measures, including proof of citizenship for voter registration, photo identification for voting, and continued Senate consideration of the SAVE America Act. The poll suggests these policies receive majority support not only among Republicans, but also from significant numbers of independents and Democrats.

Conducted by McLaughlin & Associates from July 15–21, the survey questioned 1,000 general election voters nationwide about election security, voter identification, and the SAVE America Act, which has already passed the House of Representatives.

One of the poll’s strongest findings concerned who should be allowed to vote in federal elections. Eighty-two percent of respondents agreed that only United States citizens should be permitted to vote for president, the U.S. Senate, and the U.S. House of Representatives, including 72% of Democrats and 84% of independents.

The survey also found broad backing for voter identification requirements. Seventy-eight percent of respondents agreed that voters should be required to show a photo ID when casting a ballot, while 95% said they already possess a valid photo identification such as a driver’s license, state ID, or passport. When asked whether photo ID laws constitute an unfair barrier to voting or a reasonable requirement that most Americans can easily meet, 66% chose the latter.

Support extended to proof-of-citizenship requirements as well. Seventy-eight percent agreed that proof of U.S. citizenship should be required to register to vote in American elections. When respondents were asked whether such a requirement represents an unfair barrier or a reasonable expectation for most Americans, 66% said it was reasonable. Even after pollsters explained concerns that married women whose names have changed might need additional documentation—and noted that the SAVE America Act had been revised to address those concerns by allowing an affidavit instead of extra paperwork—a 62% majority still considered the requirement reasonable.

The poll also measured public sentiment toward the SAVE America Act itself. After reading a summary explaining that the legislation would require proof of citizenship to register to vote, require photo identification for voting, close loopholes in current law, and require states to compare voter rolls with federal records to identify noncitizens who may be registered, 56% of respondents said the Senate should continue working to pass the bill before this year’s elections, compared with 34% who said lawmakers should give up on the legislation.

The findings arrive as election integrity remains one of the defining issues in American politics. Supporters of the SAVE America Act argue that verifying citizenship before registering to vote is a commonsense safeguard that reinforces public confidence in elections. Opponents contend the legislation could make registration more difficult for some eligible voters, although the bill’s sponsors have revised portions of the measure in response to concerns about documentation requirements for married women who have changed their names.

For many, the issue goes beyond partisan politics. Scripture consistently emphasizes justice, honest weights and measures, and integrity in positions of public trust. While reasonable people may debate the best policies for administering elections, let’s pray that America’s election system will be marked by transparency, fairness, and faithfulness to the rule of law, giving citizens confidence that every lawful vote is counted and protected. And let’s pray for the swift passage of the SAVE America Act!

Lord, please let it be that mass mail in ballots also be banned as this SAVE act is passed. Only requested ballots by mail sent and only in cases where the voter will be absent or somehow disabled from being easily able to make it to the polls.

Lord Jesus, I pray that You will impress upon the Senate that passage of this legislation is really vital to our electoral processes. When it comes right down to it, the necessity of this becoming law is really a no-brainer. Our national security hangs in the balance.

Everyone call Sen. John Thune and ask him to put the “pedal to the metal” to pass the Save America Act; photo ID required and want the mass mail-out ballot outlawed. We must have fair and honest elections with no counting ballots after election day.
Thank you God for your help in Patriots getting elected in our great Constitutional Republic.

I pray for the exposure of whatever is the real reason our government leaders are afraid to vote for The Save America Act. This is not logical or a reflection of common sense.

I pray for our government leaders to be delivered from the lies they have believed or for whatever is holding them hostage to be broken off of them, in Jesus Name. Amen.
