Planned Parenthood is reportedly closing 5 clinics in northern California after the Big, Beautiful Bill cut its Medicaid funding.

Planned Parenthood Mar Monte, the abortion giant’s largest affiliate in the country, shuttered five locations near the Bay Area on Thursday, saying the bill forced their hand.

The clinics that are closing are all near the Bay Area — located in San Francisco, San Mateo, Gilroy, Santa Cruz, and Madera.

The massive spending bill, which was signed by Trump on July 4, bans Medicaid reimbursements for one year to abortion providers who were getting at least $800,000 in Medicaid reimbursements, which Planned Parenthood certainly was — the abortion giant was getting about $390 million from Medicaid as far back as 2015.

California is not the only state seeing clinic closures. The Daily Wire notes that Planned Parenthood also recently closed clinics in New York, Minnesota, Illinois, Texas, and Utah.

The Big, Beautiful Bill passed earlier in July after months of fighting and debate. While many were not entirely happy with the bill, it’s encouraging to know that the legislation is protecting lives in pro-abortion states by defunding Planned Parenthood.

As the article from The Daily Wire notes, the Big, Beautiful Bill only defunds Planned Parenthood for one year. Let’s pray that our leaders make this defunding permanent, and that the unborn in America are protected!
