I Prayed have prayed
Father, awaken Your Church to the urgency of vigilance in our time: to prayer without ceasing, to preparedness for what is coming, and to the bold proclamation of the Gospel.
Reading Time: 7 minutes

I recently heard the Holy Spirit say: “Pray. Prepare. Proclaim.” As I asked the Lord about this and listened, I sensed a growing urgency to pray this into reality for the American Church — and to share this with you. God is warning and wooing us, calling us to come closer to Him. As danger approaches, the heavenly Father wants His children to be near Him. But there’s more.

I believe that drawing closer to the Father means we are to adopt a lifestyle of prayer, preparedness, and proclamation.

Pray.

God’s will for His people is that we pray without ceasing: Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you (1 Thessalonians 5:16–18). Prayer is what anchors us deeply in the fullness of God’s love. Not only did He give us prayer as a means of casting our cares upon Him (see 1 Peter 5:7), but also prayer is also the primary avenue by which the Scriptures come to life, transform us, and guide us. By prayer, we draw near to Him so that He can draw near to us (see James 4:8). Through daily communion with Him, we receive strong faith, courage, wisdom, divine perspective, and indestructible inner peace. In other words, we receive everything we need for life and godliness in every circumstance.

Prayer is the taproot that extracts spiritual nourishment from the soil of God’s grace, by which we grow into oaks of righteousness (see Isaiah 61:3), mighty and unmoved by any storm, planted to display God’s glory. Putting off prayer until things go wrong amounts to doing too little, too late. Faith, courage, inner peace, divine wisdom, and spiritual maturity develop gradually through a life of prayer, not by means of an occasional prayer here and there or an emergency cry amid a crisis. The oak tree that sucks up nutrients only occasionally will never grow strong or have the fortitude to withstand storms, let alone to display any splendor. A life of constant communion with God is the foundation for our lives here on earth and the key ingredient to the second word I heard:

Prepare.

Preparedness is a mindset that covers three areas. First, spiritual preparation. Through a life of prayer, we become vigilant. That means we are attuned to warnings, admonitions, and corrections from the Holy Spirit, being quick to recognize spiritual attack and able to read the signs of the times (Matthew 24:33). This is the idea behind the parable of the wise and foolish virgins (see Matthew 25:1–13). The wise ones took extra oil with them. They made sure they could keep their lamps burning and be ready for the bridegroom’s return. The foolish ones did not; their lamps burned out, and they had to go get new supplies. They weren’t ready for the unexpected, so while they were gone, they missed the bridegroom’s banquet. Ephesians 6:18 warns us to be vigilant in our prayers. Vigilance is watchfulness and implies a mindset that expects the unexpected at any time and that has a plan ready for jumping into action.

Second, practical preparation. We know Jesus’ warnings about the Last Days (see Matthew 24:3–14), and also that Scripture describes the disasters poured out upon humanity to shake sinners into repentance (see Revelation 9). We are seeing all this unfold around us: natural disasters, violence, lawlessness, debauchery, societal upheaval, and economic and political instability. With that much instability and potential for disaster in our world, preparing our homes for emergencies is wise.

While living in Southern California, I learned to adopt that preparation as part of everyday life. Most of the people around us did so, because we never knew when the power grid might go out in a lightning storm, a wildfire, an earthquake, or a rolling blackout due to capacity overload. No power meant no water, heating, air, refrigeration, light, computer, or cell service. So, we had to have an “earthquake barrel” on hand, filled with potable water, blankets, batteries, dry and canned food, candles, flashlights, first-aid supplies, shortwave radio, and more — supplies sufficient to last for several weeks. Though we’ve been feeling safe and secure enough in Georgia, a few years ago the Lord pressed upon us to take in emergency supplies. Natural disasters are less common here, but lengthy power outages and interruptions in the flow of utilities are always possible. We haven’t had to use the supplies yet, but at least we’re ready. Ready.gov is one of many websites devoted to building emergency kits. This is no Chicken Little talk or mere fear-mongering. Our electric grid is vital to our survival, and yet it is aging, fragile, hackable, and under threat of overload because of the rapid shift toward electric appliances and cars. Loss of electricity is just one of the potential dangers we face. You can learn more about his from IFA’s recent webcast: Grid Down, How to Get Prepared.

Third, community preparation. This is related to my warnings of impending persecution. I hear increasing chatter from faith leaders that this is coming. Even Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito has weighed in on the matter, saying that he thinks religious liberty will soon become a “disfavored right.” Civil rights are being shifted toward the protection of lifestyles and behaviors once considered perverse, while proclamations of biblical truth about these issues is reclassified as “hate speech.” And sure enough, an article on Fox News reports that the FBI has developed information sources inside Roman Catholic and possibly other churches, in search of ostensibly “traditionalist, anti-Semitic, anti-LGBTQ, and white supremacist ideology.” The DOJ perhaps unsurprisingly denies these allegations, even as the Senate Judiciary Committee denounces them as reprehensible, but it should nonetheless alarm us that all of this is happening.

Does this sound familiar? It should. This is precisely what communist governments always do: They plant moles within any group suspected of bucking the party line, especially the churches. And now this is banging on our door. We know from Scripture that persecution is part of the Christian life and that God allows it to perfect us. So, it’s not a matter of if it becomes more widespread, but when. Perhaps it would be wise for every congregation to begin emphasizing small-group ministries, because the time may be nearing in which that’s the only way the saints will be able to gather for worship. Is this not already the reality for millions of believers around the world? It may become the reality for us too, and we should prepare for that.

An organization called the Underground Church Network, based in Tampa, Florida, has been doing this for over a decade. Its mission is to disencumber the Church from preoccupation with campus and organizational maintenance, and return us instead to the basics of worship, community, and missions, within small settings. Some of their “micro-churches” meet in store parking lots to fellowship and share the Gospel. A church here in Atlanta met for Sunday worship on the light rail. The congregants would ride the rail line up and down, while offering fellow passengers a listening ear and a prayer. Movements like these are growing. And they may well provide an answer for the time when churches can no longer meet in highly visible buildings and campuses without being watched and harassed by the government or anti-Christian elements in society. The Underground Church Network’s approach is especially significant because of its emphasis on missions.

Proclaim.

Persecution or not, God’s main priority for His Church is the proclamation of the Gospel to the ends of the earth, what is known as the Great Commission (see Matthew 28:19–20). For that reason, the apostle Peter says: But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9). And the apostle Paul said this to the church at Philippi: Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, holding fast to the word of life … (Philippians 2:14–16). St. Francis of Assisi put it this way: “Preach the gospel. If necessary, use words.” Even when the Church has to go underground to avoid detection and persecution by a government, it can still shine its light.

Interestingly, the Church is growing fastest in Iran and China, where believers are persecuted mercilessly. In contrast, the Church is declining in countries that constitutionally guarantee freedom of worship. God’s desire for us is a clear, loving, and bold proclamation of the Gospel to go hand in hand with the shakings He is visiting upon the nations. As Paul explains: For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? (Romans 10:12–14). Church-trend watchers and missiologists have noted that instead of shining our light brightly in our workplaces, neighborhoods, schools, and societies, we have circled the wagons and adopted a form of Christian isolationism that makes us feel safe from the increasingly evil world around us. But God desires that we shine our lights brightly amid all that crookedness and twistedness, and that we continue to proclaim the Gospel of Christ, who died for all. This is His chosen way for people to move from the kingdom of darkness into His glorious light. The failure to do our part and to remain a missional, proclaiming Church quenches the Holy Spirit.

I invite you to pray with me that a lifestyle of prayer, preparedness, and proclamation would become a reality in every church in America as the Holy Spirit broadcasts His call to draw near to the Father. This message is all the more urgent as the dark clouds of tribulation and persecution loom.

Father, only You know the times; only You know how the shaking of the nations as described in Your word will unfold. You alone know when and how persecution of the Church in the “free” nations will come. We ask that the Holy Spirit would call Your people — from the pastors in the pulpit to the people in the pews — to a lifestyle of prayer, preparedness, and proclamation. Through these, may we receive all we need in hard times, without faltering on the Great Commission to proclaim the Gospel to the ends of the earth.

Please give us the wisdom to put into place what we will need in hard times. Help us become a community of faith that can build up one another’s faith and shine Your light to those around us needing salvation. Revive in us a yearning to be close to You and to one another. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Father God I come with a heavy heart to your throne tonight needing to lay my burdens before you and ask for guidance in my desires to pray without ceasing concerning the matters of our world and where we are headed if things continue down the path I feel we are on. Our world it seems is turned inside out and the church is felling to make a mark upon the world anymore. I feel like we are losing and Lord you are our only hope and it seems like we have forgotten that. We as a church or not prepared to fight the woes of this world so the evilness continues to overtake us. Lord, please wake your church (children up) before it is to late. Let us be renewed and revived back to a godly moral loving church to combat the sinfulness and corruptness that is pledging us. Help us to prepare for battle with your armor and being filled with your holy spirit where defeat does not exist. Lord, we need you desperately and I want nothing more but to depend on you and your mercy on us as your people. I ask these request believing in you and what you have told us in your word. I pray to be committed, to be humble, to be submissive, to be focused, to be bold, to be faithful and be thankful for answered prayers. Let me be a starting point as a part of the body that fuels the church to use what gifts that you have blessed me with. Let us the church see victory once again as a whole for our world is dying around us with such ungodly behavior. Our hope is not in this world but you Lord are our hope and only hope. Lord, I ask for the church to once again have the backbone that we need to conquer our failures and once again show the world we are a God fearing loving forgiving moral church and show the world truly what victory is all about and that is telling them about a savior that came to save the world from their sins. God I come before your throne in our sweet Saviors Name Jesus Christ the name above all names and in him seek your mercy and kindness and love for your people. Amen

Father God as we pray each day there is a lot to consider and remember there are words of encouragement, words of teaching. Learning to speak words of joy, prayers, and thankfulness should not fluctuate with are feelings or circumstances. Yes, Rejoice always- Thessalonians 5:16-18-NIV “ 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.“ When we make a conscious decision to DO what God says , we see and understand a new perspective, especially in Gods Will which gives off joy and learning to be thankful. God does not demand we spend all of our time before God praying and doing nothing else. God I’ve learned over the years (I) can still pray short words of need or Joy, or quote a scripture as a prayer. Many times I have done that. Isn’t Gods presence inside of us? God you know my dependence is upon your words, Father God give us the natural ability to pray frequently, spontaneity short prayers- all determined to be in Your Will. Do not quench the Spirit, God as I read the scriptures it says” Do not treat prophecies with contempt” God are these not gifts for us? Corinthians 14:39 – He mentions “ 39 Therefore, my brothers and sisters, be eager to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking in tongues.“ God I am hearing hecklers make fun and say oh this is from the stupid- God I want to thank you NOW for the manifestation of the gifts, these gifts are suppose to encourage the whole body of Christ. Thank you Father God for the many gifts you have offered us- “Jesus was the Son of God, who came down from heaven to give us the greatest gift any person can ever receive—the gift of eternal life. “ “ Peter 4:10-11
New Living Translation
“10 God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. 11 Do you have the gift of speaking? Then speak as though God himself were speaking through you. Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy that God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ.” I thank you Jesus for what you have given so freely; I lift up prayers that we use Gods words to test all things-God has given us, and check all words-by checking all words we say – by the Bible. The Holy Spirt is another gift God gave us is to speak and ask the Holy Spirit to give us wisdom and place our Trust in God , fully if we are carting worries, stresses, struggles. Jesus, I ask forgiveness for thinking I can pray and then try to fix the problem. 1Peter -5:7 “ 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” God really does care. Letting God know your cries of anxiety he will handle them for you, this closes any door to Satanic attacks. Allow the one True person to control the circumstances, His name is Jesus. The devil will flee from you, he does not like the name of Jesus spoken. James 4:7-8
NIV –
7 Submit yourselves, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Come near to God and he will come near to you.” I want to Thank Remco Brommet for writing such a powerful selection of words and Gods instructions to all of us through the words of why we must pray, prepare, be in preparedness, and proclamation ( to declare and announce) whatand why Gods words are to be used in these times of darkness. Jesus was in pain as he hung there on the cross, more pain than only His Father knew. We are in pain also! I pray the churches, the people realize the PRICE He paid; “ 3 He was despised and rejected by mankind,
a man of suffering, and familiar with pain.
Like one from whom people hide their faces
he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.” I call for reinforcements to recognize what Jesus paid and offered the words to us -ASK is all He said and pray I am here for you. Trust Me and take time to sit at my feet so We will be one United. I promise you my children the Goodness of God. I promise you freedom and security: after All I AM the I AM. My children I want to visit with you more, do not turn away, it is time. Father God I so love and honor you, there is no one like you. Gods blessings over all. 🙏🙏🙏

Thank you so much! My credit
credit union proudly proclaimed the amount of money that they gave to a woke organization. I am praying for wisdom to write a letter to help them understand that those people are trapped in sin and need Jesus in repentance and truth. The government is on their side but we serve a higher, more powerful eternal government.

Some credit unions have annual meetings of members. If so, go and voice your concerns. If they will not listen, maybe you should consider changing credit unions if you do not want your money supporting their actions. Sometimes the only thing they understand is if people take their business elsewhere.

Holy Spirit emphasized from the very first sentence how important the youth movement even now has become. We see Asbury and Mario Murillo incorporating their synigery into different areas. I was also reminded that years ago during gatherings we simply took turns reading Scripture so there’s no dearth of Hearing the Word.
Last night I was nearly overwhelmed with a vision of forest fires out of control
While areas engulfed with firefighters in acute danger. Then I saw the entire West coast of California and knew they would be affected
When I was employed in health care, we were responsible for having the First Respondet kit at home and mountain survival always in the car. I still have this in my apt.
The Lord is saying to me also: abide. Med has developed into a non factual account so your source must come by walking with Jesus.
Thank you? Pastor for this message. May the body absorb

Holy Father, You know any person who may attend any Church with ulterior motives for bringing oppression or persecution in.
Prepare Pastors and Church members, to have spiritual discernment, to sense an evil spirit in someone and then cause it to be manifest and cast out, binding it on earth AS IT IS BOUND in heaven… I always like to add, it can not do anything anymore except wander around and think about how stupid it’s been all these millennium, fighting in a losing battle.

Jesus said that there would be wheat and tares in his church until the end of the age. If the Spirit is there, they will be so uncomfortable that they will leave or be converted.

Yes, the Lord has been speaking to me similarly. It’s almost as though He’s been saying “Come in closer to me. I am your rock and your fortress. Cling to Me.” Keeping supplies on hand for emergencies is always a good idea.
Father, encourage Your people to be prepared not only for their own families, but to have some extra to bless a neighbor who may be in need. Lord, it’s a loving thing to warn and encourage others to be prepared for the unknown. Give us strength and courage to do what You’re calling us to do. Cause is to go down the path of obedience. Thank You, Lord, that You do nothing unless You reveal Your secret counsel to those with whom You are intimate. All glory to Your Name, Father. My lamp is lit and I will keep extra oil to keep it burning. Amen.

Interesting that the infiltration in spying on churches has come to light. Mark Taylor has been saying it was happening for years and for churches to get out of 5013c tax exemption. It isn’t just people planted in the churches it is Pastors of churches recruited to spy on their people, so they can keep their tax status. Which happens as a result of churches being a business instead of a ministry. Good practical tips on what we need to do.
