Critical race theory (CRT) is sending shock waves across many states. Parents and elected officials are turning out in record numbers at school board meetings arguing that indoctrination is leading the society towards communism. One parent who was born and lived in Siberia, Russia and is now a parent of a student attending school in New York stated in very compelling and concise words the following:

“The proposed ‘anti-racist program’ is just a prettier name for racial Marxist teaching. You don’t need to sugarcoat it for me. I lived it. Same methods, same vocabulary, same preferential treatment to certain groups. That’s why equity is packed with good causes like ‘diversity’ and ‘inclusion,’ so nobody can challenge it. But, I know.” She continued to say when socialists refer to “equity for all” what they mean is equal impoverishment for all.

In Florida, Governor Ron DeSantis encouraged the Florida Board of Education to ban critical race theory in public school classrooms.

The state of Virginia has become the “eye of the storm” for CRT. Loudoun County School parents are collecting signatures to recall all school board members.  These same school board members were taped secretly targeting parents for their opposition to CRT and gender policies during a meeting of a closed Facebook group named, “Anti-Racist Parents of Loudoun County.”

In a press release from the Zionist Organization of America, a letter was recently sent to the Superintendent and School Board of Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) documenting years of antisemitism in the district. “Parents contacted the ZOA after FCPS failed to rebuke and punish a school board member, Abrar Omeish, for using her school board position for personal and partisan gain, in violation of FCPS’s Code of Conduct. In May – as Israel defended its people from the thousands of rockets being launched from Gaza into Israel by the U.S.-designated terrorist group Hamas, whose charter calls for the murder of Jews and Israel’s destruction – Ms. Omeish used her official position to condemn and make false and inflammatory accusations against Israel.”

Parents report that FCPS’s silence and inaction are part of a pattern of failing to address years of antisemitism in the school district and insensitivity to Jewish concerns. School officials tolerated such problems as the following:

• Jewish students being given the “Heil Hitler” salute in school hallways and in class
• Jewish students being subjected to “jokes” about money and the Holocaust
• Swastikas defacing bathrooms and desks, which school officials sometimes failed to remove and did not publicly condemn
• A Jewish student being referred to by other students as “Jew-boy” and other antisemitic slurs
• Jewish students not being accommodated for their religious observance of the Jewish High Holy Days of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, and penalized for observing them
• Teachers and students paying lip service to Holocaust education and teachers ignorantly and insensitively implementing Holocaust education projects that were offensive and trivialized the worst genocide in human history

Foreign born student and North Korea defector Yeonmi Park came out last week warning of the communist indoctrination within universities. She said it is worse than the anti-American, communist propaganda she heard in North Korea.

A recent article by CNS News details the testimonial of a Loudoun County mother, Xi Van Fleet, an immigrant from China who escaped the country’s Maoist Cultural Revolution. She reprimanded the direction of the school district at a school board meeting. “I’ve been very alarmed by what’s going on in our schools,” she said to Loudoun County School Board (LCSB) members in a passionate speech. “You are now teaching, training our children to be social justice warriors and to loathe our country and our history.” Last week over 300 people attended a meeting hosted by the Loudoun County school board which was cut short.  Most constituents which requested time for public comment, were not able to share their concerns on Critical Race Theory and transgender policy. The board will reconvene August 10^th. Retired State Senator Dick Black was the last person to speak and stated, “The LCSB shut down the public input after the audience erupted in applause at the end of my speech. Hundreds of parents continued to rally for hours to send the message that these CRT policies are racist. Parents and teachers, stand up for your children now!”
