A parent-led rebellion against Critical Race Theory is storming school boards across the country and demanding accountability for what is being taught to American children.

At least 165 local and national groups have formed to combat Critical Race Theory (CRT) instruction in schools across the U.S., an NBC analysis found. Many of these groups were founded by parents appalled to discover what was being taught to their children. Their advocacy has launched small town CRT debates onto the national stage, spurring far-left activists and establishment media outlets to accuse conservatives of ignorance and in some cases, racism.

“Parents are right to revolt against critical race theory in the classroom,” senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute and anti-CRT writer Christopher Rufo told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “Children are not inherently ‘oppressors’ and should not be implicated for historical crimes on the basis of their race. That’s the kind of propaganda that belongs in a Soviet history museum—not American K-12 classrooms.”

What Is Critical Race Theory?

CRT holds that America is fundamentally racist, yet it teaches people to view every social interaction and person in terms of race. Its adherents pursue “antiracism” through the end of merit, objective truth and the adoption of race-based policies. (RELATED: Arkansas Governor Approves Ending Critical Race Theory Education For State Agencies)

Proponents of CRT defend the theory by saying that it offers needed critiques of “how the social construction of race and institutionalized racism perpetuate a racial caste system that relegates people of color to the bottom tiers.” In the aftermath of the death of George Floyd, elements of CRT have begun to appear in schools across the nation, identifiable through buzzwords such as “systemic racism,” “racial equity,” “anti-racism,” or “implicit bias.”

“School systems are teaching material that affirms Critical Race Theory’s main ideas when they recommend teachers ‘decolonize’ their curriculum by counting the races of different textbook authors,” Jonathan Butcher, a Will Skillman Fellow in Education at The Heritage Foundation, told the DCNF, referring to Washington, D.C. school equity materials.

Butcher also highlighted school districts “asking teachers to adjust homework assignments according to a child’s skin color,” teaching “that Americans who are white have unfair privileges and the ‘legacy of white supremacy endures,’” and separating students “into affinity groups by race for school activities.”

“As state lawmakers consider the issue, policymakers should say that no public institution can compel any teacher or student to affirm or profess belief in any idea that violates the Civil Rights Act, including the idea that individuals should receive certain benefits or sanctions based on the color of their skin,” Butcher said.

Parents across the nation have been appalled to see elements of CRT taught to their children, activists told the DCNF, but the content can be difficult to define or track down. Like progressive gender ideology taught to students in sex education, elements of CRT are not only present in equity programs but have also seeped into other elements of public school programs.

Parents who report CRT in schools often aren’t able to put a name to the alarming practices they are seeing implemented, Parents Defending Education Director of Outreach Erika Sanzi told the DCNF, but they come with stories of students being separated by race during the school day or young students being forced to label their social identities. (RELATED: Meet The Opponents Of Critical Race Theory The Media Does Not Want You To See)

“Children are suddenly needing to lay out their race, their gender, their sexual orientation, their nation of origin, their religion, whether or not they identify as the sex they were born with,” Sanzi said, “and then they learn that all of these identities either fall into it to be a category of like an oppressor or oppressed.” . . .

Thank God for bold, courageous, and concerned, parents and grandparents across this country. That’s exactly what it’s going to take for our country to survive!! God bless and protect them, give them wisdom, and open doors for them that no man can close. Save the children!!

It’s about time! The push back, the rebellion must continue if we want to save the children. And as Christians, we must also rebel, push back, make our voices heard as this evil, radical government tramples everything we stand for here in America.

I would submit that Spirited-filled believers will have to lead the charge against this tyranny if we want to wipe out abortion, CRT, sex trafficking, crime, drugs and all things evil. We have the power to move mountains if we won’t give up, shut up, or let up until we have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, paid up, and spoken up for the cause of Christ.

In the Souderton School district here in Pa., at a school board meeting on June 17, the CRT agenda was thoroughly defeated by a group of parents, led by believer Kaitlin Derstine. The person spearheading the CRT push left saying she would take her activism elsewhere! Praise the Lord!

I bind the false theory of CRT and call it somethig trying to exalt itself against the truth in God’s word. We are all created in the image and likeness of God. People need to be judged on their character and not skin color. We are all created equal in God’s site. I loose the truth of God’s word over America and mobilization in confronting anything trying to exalt itself against the knowledge of God.

Father, this makes me reflect on my whole life and America. The young lady who was first to integrate my high school was chosen by you and you taught us how to love one another way back in the 60’s. Why do we have to return again to hate and division instead of YOU? Please, once again pour out your Holy Spirit on America whom you have blessed from her beginning. Please convict us that sin is sin and give us your vision for our country and its wide variety of citizens. Let us remember that song from our childhood: Jesus loves the little children of the world. We know he still loves them as adults, too. We need great revival in America above all else. Please pour forth your Holy Spirit into every community, into every county, into every state of America and into the world. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen

Thank Father, God for raising up leaders who understand CRT and the damage it will do to our children, the future generation. May they have the strength to fight the fight of faith and protect the minds of our children. Jesus’ rebuke against against any who harms a child is for us to remember and fight to save this generation.

I find it amazing that they’re using George Floyd as an excuse to teach Critical Race Theory.
To be clear I am not excusing the actions of the policemen involved in the George Floyd arrest. However George Floyd was a lifelong criminal who was high on drugs and arrested committing a crime. It was not racial discrimination.
The incident would have never occurred in the first place had he not committed the crime. And or been high on drugs.

I am so Thankful that I took my son out of Charter School when he was in 6th grade. He had a Science teacher telling the students that “If God made the mammels then why……” (He gave his ideology on God, which was not good).
I took my son out of that School and put him in a Christian School.
I found one for $4,000 a yr. The other private Schools were higher in cost.
It was a sacrifice on my part with my income and being a single Mom (there is no tax payers help for Private Schools). My son graduated from the Christian School I put him in and he got one of the best Acedemic (Beka) education there is and received ‘Salutatorian’ received the ‘founders award’, but most important of all he received a good Christian Education of expounding on what he has been taught at home to follow the Lord all the days of his life. 😊
I know that there are parents that will not be able to afford a Christian or Private Schools.
But with the evil(hate) of the CRT that is being indoctrinated to our American Children you may want to reconsider.

Father, I pray that what the enemy has intended for evil that You would turn into good. You overcame and destroyed the liars, plotters, and schemers and all their plans. Destroy them now in this case also Father. Children are a heritage from the Lord! They belong to You, to serve You. Have mercy on this generation Father, open their eyes, open their ears, give them hearts of understanding, may they thirst for TRUTH and discernment. Have Mercy Father God on our children. Break the addictions to social media that is brainwashing this generation to darkness. In your Holy Name, Yeshua The Messiah we pray, amen.

Praise God that this pushback against CRT is happening! It is the most over-the-top nonsense that I have seen yet in education, and, in recent years, we have seen some crazy attempts at “education.” Lord, please let the backlash against CRT grow. There is NO place for this ungodly nonsense in our schools. I pray , Lord Jesus, that this CRT will fail miserably. Let there be a huge groundswell of opposition to it, and please, let this opposition make a difference. In Jesus’ name.

I urge parents everywhere to hold up Martin Luther King’s example – peaceful, non-violent, no condemnations… Don’t give the CRT proponents reasons to tear our endeavors apart.

We shall overcome – we are not afraid – we’ll walk hand in hand… It all fits.

Vermont parents are just waking up to what has happened in a pilot school district and hopefully will be awake enough to impact the State School Board from embedding CRT language into the State Standards because the Racial Equity Task Force, appointed by Governor Scott, is making moves for this to happen.

Other states should find a like minded school principal that knows the ins and outs of your State Standards and find out what is happening there.

Pray for God’s wisdom and shalom to guide state leaders to protecting our children. They are our most precious natural resource. We also need to pray for open doors to prayer and Bible stories to reach all of them.

I would not refer to it as a rebellion but as a pushing back of something that is rebellious and encroaching upon a lawful society

Dear Heavenly Father, bless and protect those brave parents and all others who stand firm and even push back against the false and deceptive doctrines being forced on us all, and most especially pushed on our children. Lord, please grant these brave and honest people wisdom, discernment, and clarity of speech as they make this stand on behalf of us all. Lord, I pray that the deceptions be exposed and the deceivers discredited. Let truth and justice prevail, and may the cancer of Marxism, the disease from which many of these false teachings have sprung, be removed from the body of our nation. In Jesus precious name I pray O’ Lord, Amen.

If one has the Holy Spirit, you will immediately know satan’s devices no matter what terminology is being used because of the demonic spirit behind CRT. Now is the time for parents and guardians to start schools; either charter or private, and/or to begin and support home-school groups. Make these learning groups accessible to those families with money and without money. Once schools begin losing money, they will honor parents’ beliefs and wishes about educating their children. If a school board is determined to have CRT, be as determined to get your children out of those schools. Yes, we can fight for schools, but in the meantime make sure your children aren’t being negatively affected by teachers who think your children belong to them and they can teach them as they please. There are many retired GODLY teachers and administrators that would be willing to help you. I am one. I am also Black and do not agree with this CRT foolishness. FATHER GOD please continue to raise up people to honor YOUR WORD and to stand in the gap and to make up the hedge and pray for those who aren’t strong enough to stand up for themselves in JESUS Name! Show them how to pull their children out of inadequate schools and to teach their children effectively. Please order our steps and direct our paths during these critical times in the MIGHTY Name of JESUS! Amen!

Carol very well stated. CRT is satan’s device for sure. I am so glad that parents are rising up against this nonsense foolishness.
I too am black and am absolutely astounded at how those who support this nonsense think its ok.
But then satan is cunning and crafty so they are deceived.

ANY Christian who supports this CRT nonsense ought to repent.
Yes parent need to do as you suggested, hit them in their pockets. Otherwise we will have another generation of America hating misfits. It’s truly baffling to me that parents were not cognizant of what their children were being taught over the past 2 decades. They were being indoctrinated to hate America. So sad.
