I Prayed have prayed
Father, we thank you for this small but significant victory. Inspire parents across the nation to follow this example and stand against graphic LGBTQ books, Lord.

A group of Michigan parents are currently winning in a fight to defund their local library over LGBTQ books. This is a huge answered prayer!

From CBN News. In a direct response to their local library’s acquiring and prominently displaying LGBTQ books and other materials, the citizens of Jamestown, Michigan, recently voted to defund the library.

Post a prayer for your state!

The township’s Patmos Library will lose 84% of its annual $245,000 budget after more than 62% of voters just refused to approve an annual property tax millage renewal for 2023.  A millage is a percentage tax on property at its assessed value. The current millage is set to expire at the end of this year.

There was never any question on what the vote was about, local resident Jesse Dillman told MLive.

“I never saw any opposition to the actual dollar amount or taxes,” said Dillman, who has started a campaign to fund the library. “It was 100% about the cultural issue of having LGBT material in the library.”

Parents and other concerned residents began a campaign to stop the millage proposal after the library featured LGBTQ books as part of a Pride display during June. One of the books on display was the sexually explicit Gender Queer: A Memoir, a graphic novel explaining what it means to be nonbinary and asexual, according to WZZM-TV.

The conservative citizens claim the book, along with a few other LGBTQ+ themed books, were “grooming children for sexual exploitation,” since they were easily available to kids.

The group asked the library staff to remove the books and the library’s board refused. So, the group mounted a campaign against the millage in order to stop funding the library with taxpayer money….

According to Bridge Michigan, the library board decided Monday night to ask voters for funding for the second time in November.

If the millage request is defeated again in November, the library will likely close sometime in 2023, the outlet reported….

Back in the 1970’s the American Library Association passed the “Library Bill of Rights,” which is in reality the library bill of wrongs. In it the ALA essentially proclaimed immunity from community ethical mores and impunity for librarians’ choices of materials purchased. Lord, we pray for reversal of this wrong and many other bad choices made while Your church was asleep.

Father God, thank you that morality is still alive in America, at least in this city in Michigan. This should be the action taken by all of Your people. May every city and town take the same action; better to have no library that to have a library that seeks to draw children into the perverted world of sexual depravity. Give Your people the victory over satan and those under his influence. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Thank You, Father. Heavenly Father, it doesn’t matter what the board thinks or has it’s heart, cause every word and action to fall in line with this righteousness to protect the children. You said of Your own creation that it would be better for the board to tie a millstone around their necks and be cast in to the water rather than causing these little ones to sin. That’s seriously scary stuff for You to say that, Father. Still, move in favor of the people, against the board, but spare the library. I extend this prayer to abductors, kidnappers and traffickers. Perhaps You will change their hearts from stone to flesh.

Replacing the Library Board by mounting a petition drive might be the quickest way to eliminate the books and provide better oversight of the materials allowed. That way the library could remain open as an asset to the community. Father YaHUaH I pray that a sensible solution be found that will allow the library to remain open as a source of good and righteous knowledge. In YaHshUaH’s Name I pray.

I’m with you!! These materials should NOT be accessible for young children!!! I’d vote the SAME way if it comes to my local Detroit library!!
