From Breitbart:

Washington, DC, Mayor Muriel Bowser (D) admitted on Wednesday that President Donald Trump’s “surge” of law enforcement in the city has dramatically reduced crime and made “neighborhoods feel safer.”

Speaking about carjackings, which she called the “most troubling” crime that plagued the district in 2023, Bowser revealed that there has been an almost 90-percent drop compared to the same 20-day period last year.

“We know that when carjackings go down, when use of guns goes down, when homicide or robbery go down, neighborhoods feel safer and are safer, so this surge has been important to us,” the mayor continued, before adding that she has been working directly with U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi and Trump’s White House chief of staff Susie Wiles.

Mayor Bowser, a prominent critic of the President, made the comments in a press conference, which you can view here. Breitbart notes she initially balked at the crackdown, calling it “unsettling and unprecedented.” She appears to have come around, however, after seeing undeniable results.

And D.C.’s mayor isn’t the only one who’s taken notice. Following the Transportation Department’s takeover of Union Station, the Daily Caller notes that reporters, even those working with leftist stations, are admitting the landmark is much safer.

From the Daily Caller:

WJLA news anchor Adrianna Hopkins asked reporter John Gonzalez about how Union Station looked after Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy announced the Transportation Department would resume direct control of the Washington landmark.

“We are in the main atrium here at Union Station, and I got to tell you, in my opinion, the place looks better than it has in years, cleaner than it has in years, but there’s still plenty of empty retail space,” Gonzales said.

Even a CNN reporter acknowledged the changes, noting that loitering has become less of an issue. Reported Gabe Cohen told CNN News Central guest co-host Jessica Dean, “I will tell you, as somebody who walks this route all the time, it does seem like there are fewer people just sort of hanging around, but we don’t know exactly what that is.”

It’s clear that President Trump’s crime crackdown is working. Washington is gradually become safer, and the President is restoring law and order in the nation’s capital. Let’s continue to pray for a return to law and order across the nation!

Lord, we desire a return to law and order, because it reflects You and Your character, and it provides greater safety and a sense of peace to communities. Since deployment of the National Guard cannot last forever, may local officials find ways to maintain what has been accomplished – the populace will expect it after experiencing it! May they make choices in upcoming elections to make it more possible, by rejecting the failed leadership and policies that have produced lawlessness, and choose better leadership.

Yes I am. I pray that the law enforcement people will make a lasting difference in Washington D.C. The primary issue, now, is that the same people are continually be arrested. I pray, Lord, that you give the Mayor and the police force in D.C. guidance and wisdom in keeping the bad actors/criminals locked up prior to their trial. This needs to be a no exceptions policy. Thank You Jesus.
