From The Daily Signal. Ohio voters on Tuesday voted to codify abortion into the state constitution, The Associated Press is projecting.
The ballot language references abortion, but mostly used euphemisms, such as “reproductive medical treatment” or “reproductive freedom.”
The measure, known as Issue 1, passed with 58% of the vote. It says “an individual right to one’s own reproductive medical treatment” includes abortion, birth control, and fertility treatment. The amendment is titled “The Right to Reproductive Freedom with Protections for Health and Safety.”
While it allows restrictions after fetal viability, the viability is reportedly at the discretion of the doctor, or “the point in a pregnancy when, in the professional judgment of the pregnant patient’s treating physician, the fetus has a significant likelihood of survival outside the uterus with reasonable measures.”
After the Supreme Court overturned the Roe v. Wade decision in June 2022, sending abortion back to the states, abortion activists proposed the initiative.
“Issue 1 passed because abortion activists and outside Democrat donors ran a campaign of fear to Ohio voters: vote for this ballot measure or women will die,” said Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of SBA Pro-Life America, in a statement.
“Their pervasive lie that women will die without Issue 1 was propped up by massive ad spending, funded by George Soros and a left-wing media machine, which operated like Planned Parenthood’s PR department,” Dannenfelser added. “The media failed to fact-check this obvious lie and reveal the black-and-white truth in Ohio’s law, which clearly allows pregnant women to receive emergency care.”
She added, “The truth is that every state in the country with a pro-life law allows for timely and necessary care for pregnant women in an emergency.”
On Sunday, Ohio’s moderate Republican governor, Mike DeWine, told CBS News: “If you look at Issue 1—it’s a radical proposal and whether you’re pro-choice or pro-life, it just goes much, much too far. It is a radical proposal and does not fit Ohio.”
The measure was designed to reverse a 2019 state law restricting most abortions after six weeks of pregnancy, except in cases of rape and incest or a threat to the mother’s life.
The one-time battleground state that has been leaning Republican in recent election cycles is the only state to have an abortion ballot referendum in this off-year election.
Pro-abortion groups plan to also put similar measures on the ballot in Arizona, Florida, and Missouri.

Watchman Nee in his book LET US PRAY, says we must pray all three aspects:
1) toward God 2) for men 3) and against Satan, praying, “O Lord, may Your precious Blood answer whatever comes from Satan.” The Watchman continues, “Satan is determined to cut off our communion with heaven; consequently, he is willing to pay any price to hinder true prayer. Let us ever be aware of the fact that he persistently attacks the prayers of the church as well as of the believers…We must therefore be watchful and on guard against the enemy, especially when we are going to pray.” p. 72

Obviously this also includes the right to “transition” to another sex if you are mentally ill. Codified and glorified in the state constitution.
Isn’t it strange people see no correlation between Hamas taking a life and citizens in the same cities doing the same.

We are cut to the heart over this grievous news. Have mercy O Lord, for the state of Ohio and all states in this nation and we humbly remind You O Lord that not every voter was in favor of abortion. While our hearts are heavy over this news, we pray that You would help us to not lose heart in standing for life – release your wisdom on how to prevail against this. We ask for the fear of the Lord to be poured out in this nation and for the truth to pierce the hearts of men, women, and children that will cause godly sorrow leading to true heart change. We cry out to you for the protection of life for babies in every state.
Oh, dear Lord God the Almighty, please forgive the grave sin of the state of Ohio. Today, November 8th 2023, I am not proud of my state. For the majority did not take heart of Your words, but instead chose to listen to the principalities of darkness. They chose to listen to the bold face lies of all the propaganda ads on television and the lies of those promoting abortions. We have to wonder how could anyone think to put something so harmful into our Bill of Rights, rights which only God can give to us.
I pray they ask for Your forgiveness dear God and amend their ways for the safety of not just the unborn who will suffer such cruel and painful abortions up to even full-term pregnancies, since it states it is on a “case by case basis”, but of pregnant women, who do not realize that the baby they carry in their womb is made in Your image dear Lord, as well as their own; made for eternal life with You, our creator. I pray for all the “individuals” who could be as young as five years or less and now could decide without their parent’s consent to go through the means of trying to change their sex without their parents even knowing it. I pray for abuse victims of rape that could now have their rapist take them for abortions without that victim’s parents knowing, and then be continually attacked again by the abuser who wouldn’t easily be caught. No one could legally prevent him from taking her for that abortion. (B. The State shall not directly or indirectly, burden, penalize, prohibit, interfere with or discriminate against either: 2. A person or entity that assists an individual exercising this right, …) The undefined wording in this section should have made everyone disagree that this could be a safe amendment. Hosea 4:6 – “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee…”
I have been praying the words of Deuteronomy 30:16- “For I am commanding you today to love the LORD your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commandments, statutes, and ordinances, so that you may live and increase, and the LORD your God may bless you in the land that you are entering to possess.”
Also in Deuteronomy 30:19 – “I call heaven and earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you, life and death, blessing and cursing; therefore, choose life, that both you and your descendants may live.”
I know that Jesus said the two most important commandments are: (Mark 12:30 -31) “to love God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind and with all your strength and secondly, to love thy neighbor as thyself.” Dear God help all the people in this country and particularly the state of Ohio to heed these commandments. Oh, that they would have done such before casting any ballots. May all people in the world come to know Jesus.
I pray You spare us Your wrath, but I know each individual needs to examine his own conscience. Lord there are many truly good and devout people in the state of Ohio, so please spare us all from your wrath. I pray that every person that voted for this amendment seek the Lord in all things, harden not their hearts and change their evil ways. For those who perhaps had no idea about the vagueness of the wording of this amendment, because they did not even read it, I hope that they have learned a valuable lesson and seek to change their hearts and their ways. May they learn to recognize propaganda for what it is. May God forgive them for this mistake.
We know that the Lord God has a plan for us all and that our Savior Jesus Christ is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords and will protect us. I pray for forgiveness for our state. I also pray for the changing of hearts of all those in the business of promoting abortions and ending lives such as those who have anything to do with Planned Parenthood. I ask this in Jesus’ mighty name in unity with the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen!
