California Governor Gavin Newsom recently acknowledged a reality long observed by many in the Christian and conservative community: young men in America are in crisis. Speaking at a press conference, Newsom admitted that Democrats have “not invested as much energy as they should” in reaching young men, contrasting his party’s muted response with the visible and intentional efforts of conservative leaders such as Charlie Kirk.

Newsom’s comments came as he unveiled a new state initiative calling for 10,000 young men to serve as mentors, coaches, and tutors through volunteer programs. The governor framed this as a response to the growing epidemic of loneliness and higher-than-average suicide rates plaguing young men and boys. He further reflected on the tragic murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, whom he had recently interviewed on his podcast and praised for his ability to engage young men effectively.

“We have an epidemic of loneliness, and so much of that is manifesting and metastasizing online in very profound and consequential ways, and last week only underscored that further,” said Newsom, referencing Kirk’s killing at a Utah university campus. A 22-year-old man, Tyler Robinson, was charged Tuesday with aggravated murder in the case. Newsom, speaking in a high school gymnasium and then a weight room, said Democrats in last year’s election had failed to effectively respond to conservatives’ outreach to young men, calling their response “mixed or muted.” “And I thought that was a mistake. I still do,” he said.

The governor’s remarks carried both political and personal weight. He acknowledged the power of Kirk’s influence, recounting how even his own son admired Kirk and was shaken by news of his death. Newsom also challenged his party, warning against the fear that focusing on the needs of men somehow undermines gender equality. Instead, he recognized the urgency of addressing the isolation, disconnection, and identity struggles confronting young men today.

His comments ring of truth but his intentions are for gaining political power. He, the democrat party, and the media are responsible for where our country is now with regard to talking peacefully to those who you disagree with. Instead they have chosen satan’s plan of doing whatever it takes to get their way and that included violence. Of they themselves won’t pull the trigger but they know they can convince so misinformed person to do their dirty work. They are also responsible for leading someone to sin. May they repent and seek God’s mery and forgiveness. I trust on God.

The Lord is working through our youth and through the love we show from Jesus Christ our Savior. Let the world know You and have an opportunity to love You and surrender to You , before Your return.

Yahweh ( LORD), in Jesus’ Mighty Saving Name, I pray that You will remove the blinders of the enemy from Governor Newsoms spiritual eyes. Open his eyes to truths from Your Word that he will be drawn to salvation by Your Holy Spirits prompting. Father I thank You that you are using the love that Governor Newsom has for his son to open his eyes to somethings. Thank You that his son loved Charlie Kirk and that inspired Governor Newsom to reach out to Charlie. Father God, I was praying that Charlie would be able to reach Governor Newsom for Christ Jesus…but now it’s going to take our prayers for him before Your throne of grace. Yes he has done awful things but God You still love him and it’s not Your will that any should perish but that all would come to repentance. “For all have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of You, God ( Rom. 3:23).” I believe Charlie prayed for Governor Newsoms salvation, Lord, and all of us should too. Abba Father, You know I have been praying for his salvation since I saw his interview with Charlie. Holy Spirit, You spoke to my heart and said, “There is hope for him if you and others pray for him to be saved.” So, I have been, as You know Lord and I added him to a prayer team for salvation that day! In Jesus’ Saving Name, Lord Most High, raise up faith in Governor Newsom, in Jesus’ death on the cross for his sin, and everyone’s sin, who will believe in Him, and in His resurrection 3 days later! In Jesus’ Name, LORD, have mercy on his soul and save him for Your glory. Touch his heart to cry out for Your forgiveness and repent of his sin and Lord God, You will forgive him, and save him, when he “confesses with his mouth the Lord Jesus and believes in his heart that You, God, raised him from the dead, You say, he shall be saved ( from Rom. 10:9).” Your Word will not return void but will accomplish the thing to which You send it! Great is Your Faithfulness to save …even to the uttermost!! I pray, hope, believe, wait expectantly for his salvation to come in the powerful Redeeming Name of Jesus! Amen.

I agree with the governor on this point. I see how my grandson does not seem connected to life and living! But spends a great deal of his time online. And how my son does not engage with me but is ever listening to the chat room talks on his social media platform. Something needs to be done to give them purpose and respect of others who do not believe as they do politically to have a right to live with freedom and dignity. It does not have to come from the government or the church, but it needs to happen!!! There is a company called Bravebooks and they have a great idea of promoting families to teach their children when they are young about good character and virtuous behavior! Perhaps, a look at their business model, and mission will give a clue as to what can be done and how soon it can be implemented!!!

Where is the church? We don’t need government programs for our young men. We need REAL MEMBERS OF THE BODY OF CHRIST, NOT A FORM OF GODLINESS.

One would hope Gov Newsom is sincere. I am doubtful that he is, except that he wants to attempt a comeback for Democrats in the coming elections. My hope and prayer is that God opens his mind.

Sorry Mr. Newsome, the health of American men does not reside in your hands or any political party. I pray for security, that should begin in families, to permeate through all homes and to dispel the lies and deception devouring our kids. I pray for truth and mercy to break down these ancient strongholds and the Grace of God, known in Christ alone, to heal our land.

I believe Newsome is a chameleon and a wolf in sheep’s clothing but am praying that God will change his heart and lead him to himself.
The damage he has done and allowed within his own state is reprehensible.
May the people of California see the light. The Jesus revolution of the 70’s started there, so anything is possible with prayer.

As long as this incident can inspire people in good directions, it’s wonderful! Conversely, to the extent that it opens room for a respectable dialogue, it helps to open eyes & minds to resisting violence in life, it can be very helpful!

While this is important to address, Newsom has a lot of nerve talking about this when he’s allowed to go unanswered and unaccountable for CA’s budget deficit, homelessness crisis, increased crime rates, etc. He needs to cancel his podcast and fix the shambles he’s left CA in, but, as a CA native, my gut tells me he won’t… 🙄

This is a blatant POLITICAL STATEMENT from DJT to discourage support for Newsome, clearly pushing the MAGA & republican way of thinking.

Trump has been heavy handed to censor popular media to fit his limited thinking. Kirk pushed a dialogue to build consensus. Based on his following, it could only go so far. Leaving room for mass consensus is better for a more inclusive result. Before Trump’s extortion to censor anything less than his specific thinking, many valid points were made to reveal shortcomings in Kirk’s thinking. This should NOT BE PROMOTED AS THE ONLY WAY TO THINK OR VOTE. TRUMP IS POLITICALLY BIASED & not the answer to everything. A more universal message is best!

It is frightening indeed to consider the ramifications of young men being groomed by those who tout such far-left and ungodly ideologies. May their voices remain muted! May Godly men full of the Holy Spirit rise up to fill the void – men like Charlie Kirk, who will encourage young men to embrace their God-given identity. We certainly do not need more confused young men like Tyler – may he come to a saving knowledge of Yeshua.

Charlie said it best – the left is for everything that God hates. Jesus, please help our nation’s citizens to desire and pursue truth. Help us speak the truth in love to those who are for the things you hate. Forgive our nation and heal our land. In Jesus Name.
