Over the past few years, we have seen small communities decimated by huge influxes of refugees, straining populations and sometimes even changing cultures overnight. Representative Tom Tiffany, however, has a plan to fix that.

Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-WI) is leading legislation that would codify into federal law a plan allowing localities and states the ability to block refugee resettlement in their communities, Breitbart News has exclusively learned.
This week, Tiffany, joined by Reps. Derrick Van Orden (R-WI), Tony Wied (R-WI), Andy Ogles (R-TN), and Lance Gooden (R-TX), filed the Community Assent for Refugee Entry (CARE) Act — a plan that mimics an executive order from President Donald Trump’s first term in office.
Under the CARE Act, localities and states would have the authority to decide whether they want refugees resettled in their communities or not.
Under the Biden administration, we saw refugee resettlement strain and harm several small towns. We covered the story of Springfield, Ohio, a town that gained national relevance when then-candidate President Trump claimed Haitian refugees in the community were eating cats and dogs. Though these claims were heavily disputed, it’s clear that the rapid resettlement negatively affected the town and its inhabitants.

The Representative stated that “no community should be blindsided or have its resources stretched thin because the federal government made the decision for them to resettle refugees,” claiming his “commonsense legislation” will give “the people most affected the final say.”
As this legislation moves through Congress, let’s pray for every community that’s been stretched thin by refugee resettlement!

Heavenly Father, grant us wisdom found in You and in Your word. In the book of Ruth, we see her yielding to no longer following pagan gods, but instead to follow You. We also see where leaders (kings) whom did not heed Your word concerning influence of false gods and cultural practices led to trouble. Let us clearly understand that not all whom come to America are agreeing to giving up their “cultural” practices, but are looking merely for a way out of the current circumstances. Therefore, the compassion must also include sharing of the Gospel and the choice to choose salvation. Father, lead us to do Your will and grant us wisdom and understanding in Your word. Thank You that You have the order in which we should go. Guard us against the false teachings of this world and it’s tactics, instead, by the Holy Spirit guide us into truth. Jesus is the solution. Thank You for the representatives in Congress whom strive to do Your will, grant them wise counsel, put knowledge and actions to align. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
I live near Springfield, Ohio. First, Vance and Trump spreading rumors about the refuges eating dogs and cats was damaging to the politicians’ credibility. Second, resources are stretched in that community which already had high poverty..
I think a better idea would be some kind of formula for calculating how many immigrants a community could support. Springfield, a small city of about 60K people was swamped by the 15K immigrants. Having some way to assess the available resources and set a cap on numbers would have prevented this overstretch.
Another benefit, would be breaking up immigrants into small clusters which would highly promote their integration into American culture instead of letting them form cultural islands. The cultural islands have at times been problematic.
Only those who enter our country LEGALLY should be allowed!!! This will solve the problem!!!
Amen! Let’s kick the so-called refugees completely out of our country. I live in Ohio about an hour away from Springfield, Ohio and the locals in Springfield were reporting at the City Counsil meetings that their
cats and dogs were going missing and the Haitians were seen taking ducks out of the parks. That story came from the many council meetings in Springfield, Ohio by the residents in Springfield.
FATHER GOD thank YOU for protecting us from evil people from other countries that desire to take over America with their godless practices, and whose only desire is to take from America, not give anything back to America. Please quickly remove them all from America and let them go back and build up their own countries in JESUS NAME. Amen. America is Blessed because our Founders and Americans honor the GOD

Small, defenseless communities and municiplalities SHOULD NEVER have the burden of defending themselves against invasion by worthless, easily challenged law that, as we have seen, is simply blocked by lawless rogue judges and being accused of “racism” when they put their own taxpayers first by refusing invaders, as we clearly saw in the Ohio Haitian case. STOP THE NONSENSE! These small communitiies do not have the legal budgets to fight these Deep State funded attacks on their sovereignty. They will be sued into oblivion. Do we need more court cases to fight off? This legislation is USELESS. STOP ALL immigration at the spigot, then you don’t have to bail out the tub.
In light of all the useless “legislation” supposed to protect American citizens that has been ignored and circumvented by the Marxist left who wish to destroy Christian America, I view this as GOP cowardice that strains at a gnat while swallowing a camel. A total moratorium on ALL immigration must be immediately instituted just like President Trump has mandated. ALL migrants of the last 4 years must be immediately apprehended and deported, they are all criminal due to their illegal entry. TAKE AMERICA BACK!
