In a last-minute meeting on Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu promised to eliminate his nation’s trade deficit with the United States, a move brought about by President Trump’s announcement of tariffs on “Liberation Day.” The two leaders also talked about the complex situation in the Middle East.

From The Daily Wire. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that Israel will eliminate its trade deficit with the United States, which has been the basis for the 17% tariff the White House announced would be placed on Israel.

Post a prayer for your state!

ā€œWe will eliminate the trade deficit with the United States. We intend to do it very quickly, we think it is the right thing to do and weā€™re also going to eliminate trade barriers that have been put up unnecessarily.ā€ …

The tariff reportedly came as a surprise to Israeli leaders, who had hoped thatĀ removing all tariffsĀ from American goods would help ease the risk of economic turmoil amid a year-and-a-half-long war that has strained the nationā€™s struggling economy.

Netanyahu is theĀ first world leader to meet with Trump over the new tariff policy. The meeting is the second time Trump has hosted Netanyahu at the White House in less than three months. …

More than 50 nations have reached out to the United States to negotiate trade deals following last weekā€™s tariff announcement, White House National Economic Council Director Kevin HassettĀ revealed Sunday. …

During the meeting, the two leaders also spoke about the 59 hostages still in Hamas captivity, Turkeyā€™s effort to grow its influence in Syria, and the Trump administrationā€™s Saturday meeting with representatives of Iran regarding its nuclear program.

ā€œDoing a deal will be preferable to doing the opposite,ā€ Trump said. …

When Hamas releases all of the hostages taken on Oct. 7, both living and dead, and lays down their weapons and ideology and evil tyranny over Gaza, that might be possible. It is in their hands and they have refused.

Thank you that Netanyahu and President Trump are agreeing on the tariffs. And it is so good that other nations want to negotiate about the tariffs. It seems that the President’s plan is working. How desperately we need to change the balance of trade and I am thankful that God is helping our nation.

When asked if in response to Netanyahu’s announcement to eliminate the trade deficit and trade barriers, the U.S. would drop the imposed 17% tariff on Isrrael, President Trump responded, “We’ll see, we give them a lot of aid, close to four billion per year.” This is true. However, that aid is conditioned to Israel spending seventy percent of it in the U.S., which has harmed Israel’s own arms manufacturing industry, and as we saw under the Biden Administration, made Israel vulnerable to the whims of the U.S. May all in our administration be granted revelation that Isrrael is not just another nation in God’s eyes.

Lord Jesus, I pray that these talks with Netanyahu will be positive and productive regarding the trade tariffs. I also pray for the remaining hostages to be released by Hamas sooner rather than later. Thank you Jesus.

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee,
Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.
For my brethren and companions’ sake, I will now say, Peace be within thee.
Because of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek thy good” Psalm 122 (KJV)

I trust that our president has the knowledge and experience to make a trade deal with our ally that will strengthen our relationship with Israel and improve our economic and political standing in the Middle East.
