Father, we thank You for this coach's faith. We pray that more and more athletes and celebrities would be bold and courageous enough to give You glory.

After his team won the NBA Finals, Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla didn’t hesitate to first give glory to God.

From Breitbart. Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla has once again shown that he leads from a Christian perspective after being seen in a t-shirt reading, “But First Let Me Thank God,” as his team celebrated their NBA Finals win on Monday night. …

Find out when your state prays.

The Celtics beat the Dallas Mavericks 106-88 as they played in Boston to best the Mavs in four out of five during the NBA Finals. As his team celebrated, Mazzulla revealed that he had a shirt with a special message underneath the one he wore during the game.

This is far from the only time that Mazzulla has openly professed his faith.

Last week, he revealed that if the Celtics won the championship, he would celebrate by visiting Jerusalem and the Holyland. …

“Most people go to Disney World or whatever, but … I think [the Holy Land is] the most important place to go back and recenter yourself,” he insisted.

He also spoke of his “prayer walks” and his love of his rosary bead collection. …

I LOVE THIS STORY! It is SO refreshing to know a celebrity coach would give the praise and glory to God. What an inspiration he can be to his other coaches and his players. In our terribly troubled world we need more people like him. And to think he will visit the Holy Land to celebrate is very inspiring. What a great place to recenter homself. Thank you coach for putting your faith out there for all to see.

Thank you for writing the article on Coach Mazzulla. I agree on his plan to visit the Holyland to recenter himself and surely any and all that go with him. Quietly, steadily making progress on reactionary, self-serving culture — gratefully slowly our pace down to engage a rhythm that is stayed on God’s word will help build the bridges in relationships, cities, countries… that are needed to bring heaven to earth, even as we say the Lord’s prayer together…

Thank you, Father God, for Coach Mazulla. Am so grateful he acts like a man. Thank you for looking over his marriage, family, and his work as a coach. Thank you that he prays and thank you that he is watchful. Allow him to stand firm and hold tight to his convictions from the Word of God. Let him stand firm on church attendance, tithing, and in keeping the faith. Allow his behavior to keep his convictions and theology from the Word of God. Let him align with the Word of God. Keep him away from sin and compromises. Let all that he does be done in love. I Cor. 16:13. Thank you Father God that Coach Mazulla has kept You as the Lord of his life. Continue by power of Holy Spirit to give You, Father God and Sweet Jesus, all the glory. Thank you that he wants to bless Israel. Amen and Alleluia.

Dear Lord,
Thank you for giving Coach Mazzulla boldness of faith, that He honored you first, and above all else, in the victory. I pray that all believers take courage from his example of trust and obedience to You. Give us boldness in our faith, not timidity of spirit. You will equip us for every situation, if we seek You first. Thank you Lord, your plans and provision are better than our human wisdom can ever conceive!

Father continue to bless those that have the courage of their convictions and that are standing up and standing courageous and strong today for YOU. You alone are worthy to be praised and I adore that this coach and a few others recognize that. You are an awesome God and I both fear and adore you. Thank you for all you have done even to the giving up on your dear Son for such as us. I could NEVER thank you enough!! I love you and I am glad this coach loves you too. I pray many more will not only see his display for you and will likewise be so moved by your Holy Spirit that they will come to you as well. He is planting a seed and I know you will water it. To God be ALL Glory. Amen
