Several hundred Pennsylvania National Guard members were mobilized to Philadelphia Tuesday in response to riots following the fatal police-involved shooting of Walter Wallace Jr. Ninety-one people were arrested and 30 officers were injured during the violent unrest.

Lt. Col. Keith Hickox said in a statement:

At the direction of Governor Wolf, and PEMA, the Pennsylvania National Guard is mobilizing several hundred members in support of the Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management and assist local agencies in protecting life, property and the right to peacefully assemble and protest. Assisting civil authorities during times of need is one of our core missions in the National Guard and our Citizen Soldiers and Airmen are well-trained and well-prepared to assist our commonwealth and our communities in any way we can. We are able to conduct operations in support of civil authorities to enhance local law enforcement’s ability to provide continued public safety and critical infrastructure security.

Philadelphia Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw said the department will bolster its presence in the city as well.

“For today and this evening, we anticipate the chance of additional incidents of civil unrest and, as such, we will be taking additional steps to ensure order,” Outlaw told reporters during a press conference.

The video showed two Philadelphia police officers pointing guns and moving away from Wallace as he walks toward them with a knife in hand. Police Sgt. Eric Gripp said Wallace was “brandishing” the knife and “waving it erratically.” . . .

“Upon being struck, the male immediately dropped the knife and was scooped up by one of the discharging officers who took him into his police car, drove him over to Presbyterian Hospital where, unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries,” Gripp said.

Police were originally called to the residence in West Philadelphia for a report of a man with a weapon.

Father God, as the election nears, we pray that you will protect our food supply chains and our electrical grid from foreign adversaries as well as domestic ones. We pray fervently for protection over our democratic systems. There are many who want to destroy them. Please, God, place a hedge of protection around our nation’s infrastructure so that those who come against us from within or from without will not succeed in their plans. Ride victoriously on behalf of truth and justice and freedom. Break the power of idolatry, tyranny, stealing, lying, distortions of truth, insinuations, temptations and all the evil planned for our nation. We need YOU. We cry out to you. We lift our eyes up to YOU for help comes from you, the Maker of heaven and earth. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Personally, I am embarrassed for America when I watch the open stealing and violence in Philadelphia and other cities. These people should be ashamed!! But they are NOT ashamed. They are harming innocent store owners, other people in their neighborhoods, and the police who protect the good people.
Righteous anger should be the reaction, not tolerance! Protection of the innocent is needed. Quick justice is a deterrent to evil. When justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous but terror to the evildoers. Prov.21:15 Evil prevails when good people do nothing!

They say they riot/protest because of injustices against blacks and black lives matter. How many black men, women and children have been attacked, their businesses attacked and their lives destroyed? Surely, their black lives matter. Lord, open spiritual eyes to see and know the truth that they would be set free from the enemy’s blinding influence over their lives.
