I Prayed have prayed
Father, we thank You for all You have done during this challenging season.  We indeed saw the faithfulness of God through it all.  Thank you for the changes you have brought about in us.  Thank You for the changes You are bringing about in our nation.  Thank You for causing us to go deeper in You, seeking Your face and seeking Your wisdom.  Let us never forget all You have done.  May we commit to remember Your mighty acts and rejoice in the things you have done.  In Jesus name.  Amen.

When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the Lord your God for the good land which He has given you.  (Dt 8:10-11)

The days we find ourselves in are unprecedented. The past few weeks have been difficult for many, including my own family. However, cities and states are slowly opening up.  Many are returning to work. Some say things are getting back to normal.

Personally, I pray we never get back to the “normal” we were living before this event.

Since the shutdown, most, if not all of us, have had more time to spend with family and with God. That needs to continue. I have seen areas in my life that needed tweaking. I’m sure we all have. Places where repentance was needed and dealt with. Areas of pride have been revealed. In that aspect, may we never go back to normal.

As our world begins to reopen, may we never forget the lessons we have learned in this season. And the great things God has done during this time.

For example:

  • We have watched His mighty hand as He caused many who were complacent to awake and begin to pray in unity.
  • He has sustained the President and given him wisdom to lead us through this crisis.
  • Medications were discovered that brought healing to many.
  • The numbers of deaths from Covid19 were much less than first predicted.

Time and again we saw God intervene. I am thankful.  I pray we never forget all He has done. Yet, I am reminded of a time in history.  Another time God did mighty acts for His people.

Dt 8:10-11 says, When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the Lord your God for the good land which He has given you.

This verse could as easily say, “When things return to normal, do not forget that it was the Lord who brought you through.”

One of my concerns is that life will go back to normal. The normal from before.

Multitudes have come together to seek the face of God. The eyes of the church have been on God to a greater degree than in times past. This is a good thing.

I further believe that idols in our lives have been exposed. Idols would be those things we thought we couldn’t live without but discovered, during this time, that we absolutely could live without them.

Moms and Dads spent more time at home, with family. Things slowed down. We took time to look at our lives and change things that needed to be changed.

In this sense, may things never go back to normal. As God’s people may we not forget what He has taught us during this time.

May we forever remember that He is the one we turn to during challenging seasons. He is the one who brought us through. It is His face we sought during this time.

God brought us out. God kept us in peace. God was working on our behalf the entire time. He worked things out of us. Let us make sure those things stay gone.

Judges 8:34 says; The children of Israel did not remember the Lord their God, who had delivered them from the hands of all their enemies on every side.

Ps 106:21 says, They forgot God their Savior, who had done great things in Egypt.

I believe we are in a time of great deliverance by the merciful hand of God. A season of rest on every side is available to us. He is indeed doing great things. May we always remember.  May we never forget.  And may we continue to give Him all the glory.

Let’s Pray!

Amen.
