While the rest of America celebrated the arrival of a new year, a different celebration was happening in New York City. Zohran Mamdani, a far-left socialist and radical Muslim, officially became the city’s new mayor.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D) pledged to govern the Big Apple as a Democratic Socialist during his inauguration speech and declared he would revive “the era of big government.”
After taking the official oath of office with his left hand on a Quran at City Hall early Thursday morning, the newly minted 34-year-old mayor took a ceremonial oath of office from Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) in the afternoon.
Mamdani vowed to hold to the radical views he pushed during his campaign against former Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D-NY) and Republican Curtis Sliwa.
We have spent months warning intercessors about Mamdani’s radical beliefs. Now that he’s been inaugurated, he seems to be making good on even his most devious promises. As he said during his inauguration speech, “I was elected as a Democratic Socialist, and I will govern as a Democratic Socialist.”
It’s clear to see just how radical Mamdani is from the company he keeps. As Breitbart noted, he took a ceremonial oath of office from Senator Bernie Sanders. Meanwhile, Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez spoke at the Mayor’s swearing-in ceremony. She highlighted Mamdani’s “ambitious pursuit of universal child care, affordable rent and housing, and clean and dignified public transit,” all common socialist talking points. Both Senator Sanders and Representative Ocasio-Cortez are avowed Democratic Socialists just like the new Mayor.
Less than a week into office, the Mayor has already taken decisive action. According to The Hill, one of Mamdani’s first actions was to undo a number of orders signed by former Mayor Eric. This included an order that formally recognized the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s definition of antisemitism, as well as one preventing city agencies from boycotting or divesting from Israel.
It’s clear we’ve only seen a taste of what is to come. Let’s pray for New York as it suffers under this socialist agenda, and let’s pray for God’s will to be done in the city!

Is there a pettion to free Pastor Son in S. Korea?
Some comments/observations.
*The younger generations don’t trust “greedy” capitalist systems. They seem to see them as the bad guy. Hence the cheering for the man who shot the CEO of United Health Care. Tangling with insurance companies is a pain, I know. But it is not resolved by killing people.
*They see government – or at least new leaders in govt- as the solution to the greedy capitalists, their salvation. I don’t get this part at all.
* NYC has always been a very expensive place to live. It seems it would make more sense for companies to open branch offices in places where the cost of living is lower and there is an large unemployed workforce or inexpensive real estate like Huntington WV. With electronic everything, this should work. Oh wait, I forgot, some people are of the mind that these are backwoods places full of hicks….I got that years ago in college because I wasn’t a big city girl.
* When it is very difficult to be able to live the American dream, even a Dave Ramsey careful budgeting version of the American dream, people will feel like the system is rigged against them. There does need to be some “unrigging” and the ability to own a modest home and have food security. Charlie Kirk was starting to talk about this.
* the country birthrate below replacement says that people are too pessimistic about the future and/or are avoiding marriage/commitment and are unwilling to bring children into a situation they think is bad.
* what I don’t understand is how people will trust a single person with no accountability. That is a recipe for big trouble. They are called dictators when they run a country.
* why is a Muslim who has never held a job mayor of the largest city in the USA? A city that 25 years ago was attacked by Muslims? What’s in the drinking water in NYC? There must be some amnesia causing drug in the system.
* experiments done on rats in crowded conditions showed that rats don’t do well socially in crowded conditions. I think one of the indications was failure to breed. Maybe the crowding in NYC is part of the problem? Maybe the crowding gets to people as well?
He is not American.

It is very interesting that socialism hurts people, but they don’t care. Eh?? The same is true for Communism. It is very interesting that the only governments that have the capacity to hear from voters to DO something for them are Christian, sometimes in name only. All else does not give a ****.
Father, I pray for New York City. As this city and its government sink deeper into this ideology, let it change their hearts from this evil to love of you and your word and love of our country.. Show them the truth of how you began this country. Give them hearts to live for you.
Lord Jesus, I pray for Your will to prevail in New York City. I still can’t understand why You would allow such a man as Mamdani to be elected to public office of any kind . I pray that You will provide a hedge of protection around the people in New York. I also pray that this ungodly man and his initiatives will ALL fail miserably. I pray that the citizens of New York will wake up, and realize that electing this man was a colossal mistake. Thank You Jesus.

I am amazed to see the ignorance in so many people in this country that are blinded by the enemy to think that Mandani who is a Muslim , socialist communist is trying to do the best for the people in New York.
He is pro abortion, big government, look how are the communist countries are living right now.
Look at Russia, North Korea, Cuba , China etc. how they are living, They all started as socialists, now
they control even of what the people eat, no freedom of speech etc., watching every step you make.
People here think that government has to maintain them,
They ignore completely Gods principles.
There is a big difference between the Jews the live in Israel and the Jews in USA.
The Jews in Israel know how life is,
They know the threats and hatred of their neighboring countries

The Democratic party has already destroyed this country. As New York falls this will become a prime example on how democratic socialist idea will fall. This is really a Muslim takeover disguise as Democratic Socialism. It is sad because this is how Communism, Marxism, Fascism, and all started on Christian values. What is added now is a Muslim takeover. Look at his attorney general, also the Muslim woman running for his prior seat who is a Hamas supporter, etc. I pray that they will see what is happening and that God steps in.
His agenda on rent, childcare, and public transport appear to be ones Christians can happily support. And as Christianity is with socialism rather than individualism a democratic socialist foundation which places the interest of all including the marginalised and outsiders equally with your own, believes in a minimum wage that one can live on in modest comfort , good health care for all, and workers able to negotiate wages and conditions on equal terms with employers, seems wise.
These are all gospel values for Christians.
The values as seen are in the volunteering of charity not the forcing of wealth distribution which in the government will tale the wealth and distribute it amongst itself leaving those who would receive the charity worse off. I pray for NYers and this country to break free of this corrupt ever growing government. Which over taxes u over regulates and keeps us as modern day slaves working to pay off the debt of living in its cities and states. Dear God lead us into your will protect us from the evil that is abound us and attempting lately without disguise to blatantly convince us what is wrong is right and is right is wrong.
