I Prayed have prayed
Lord, we ask You to open the eyes of every American. Let them see Israel and the Jewish people as You do, and let our leaders continue to bless Your chosen nation!

While Republicans still overwhelmingly support Israel, polls and social media reveal that some on the American Right are turning against the Jewish nation.

Who is praying on the wall?

From CBN:

“Everything they’re doing is demonic,” podcaster Candace Owens recently said. “I want nothing to do with it. I will never support Israel into the future after what they’ve done to these children, the starvation campaign. I don’t care.”

Others like Steve Bannon and Tucker Carlson want America out of Israel’s affairs. Marjorie Taylor Greene, one of MAGA’s biggest voices in Congress, has called what’s happening in Gaza “genocide.”

Poll numbers also seem to suggest a slight drop in Israeli support among the GOP. Fifteen years ago in 2010, Republican support for Israel stood at 85 percent. Today it’s still strong, yet down to 75 percent. The more alarming statistic among Republicans today is that 37 percent have a negative view of the Jewish State. That’s up 10 percent from just 2022 when it was 27 percent.

Disdain for Israel and its prevalence in American politics is even more common among younger conservatives. CBN notes that, while 72% of Republicans overall still believe America should militarily support Israel, only 32% of Gen Z Republicans agree. Many of these younger conservatives have found America’s unwavering support for Israel and President Trump’s America first agenda to be incompatible.

Further exacerbating this division is social media. Julian Becerra, a conservative influencer on TikTok, said in a comment to CBN that young people are using social media to “hear the different opposing views.” Becerra claims, “They’re starting to make up their mind and not just have that blind support for [Israel].”

Meanwhile, Brilyn Hollyhand, a 19-year-old working for the RNC, says the division is overblown. Hollyhand reportedly credited this anti-Israel sentiment to “a fringe that has gotten really loud,” claiming that they’re beliefs don’t “represent the vast majority of MAGA that I talk to specifically on college campuses.”

As intercessors, we know that support for Israel isn’t just good, it’s a requirement. God said he would bless those who bless Israel. Let’s pray for those on the fringes of the Right to understand this truth, and let’s pray for our leaders to continue blessing Israel!

Instead of standing with Israel just so that you can be blessed – which often comes across as doing it for your own sake – why not stand with Israel for God’s holy name’s sake?
If more Christian Zionists would emphasize this biblical aspect and priority when speaking about His nation, Israel, I would think that more believers who are sitting on the fence, or even opposed to Israel, would get a clue that this is their King Messiah’s nation whom He has chosen for His glory!
For example: aliyah Isaiah 43: 5-7, 21; aliyah and salvation Ezekiel 36:21-36; the land Jeremiah 32:41-44; the IDF Isaiah 41:10-16; Ezekiel 36:10; Jerusalem Isaiah 62:1-7; Zech. 8:1-8.
There are many more verses which focus all that God is doing in and with Israel for His name’s sake so that by praying for and standing with Israel we are asking for our Father in heaven’s name to be sanctified – in line with the first request in Messiah Yeshua’s model prayer (Luke 11:2).
Finallly, as the Psalms say, Israel’s existence is for God’s glory and so that the nations will know He is Lord (Psa. 115:1-3)..
