Intercessor, are you praying for colleges across America?

Who is praying on the wall?

Since 1823, Christians have been praying for America’s colleges and universities on the last Thursday of February every year. This event, born out of the Second Great Awakening, has come to be known as the Collegiate Day of Prayer.

Last year, the Collegiate Day of Prayer took place at Asbury University. As students worshipped amid a powerful revival, thousands across the nation joined in prayer for Asbury and other schools. View the webcast below to hear about how this event went and to see a brief clip of the worship that took place.

This year the Collegiate Day of Prayer is set for Feb. 29. Believers are encouraged to pray and fast during the lead-up to the event. The CDOP website offers two prayer guides for intercessors to use: one that is 30 days long, and one that is 40. These guides are available here.

CDOP’s leadership believes that “as the students go, so goes our nation.” Let’s pray that the students of America would be blessed this year through the tangible, undeniable presence of God!

Lord God Almighty 🙏, I pray for all American colleges and universities to see the truth of Jesus Christ their Savior! Not to believe in the standards of what the world and culture provides. They need to understand and ķnow that only Jesus who died on the cross for our sins and bring direction, hope and peace in our lives when we have an intimate relationship with Him!

I came from a secular humanist family and knew nothing about the Bible, thought the idea of God coming to earth as a man to die for us the most unlikely and preposterous worldview of them all. On Feb. 2, 1964 at the age of 19, I was attending the bilingual International Christian University in Tokyo. I was looking for Truth and assumed it would come through the most intelligent of human minds. So I had studied every religion and philosophy available and given up; they all disagreed with each other. If there was no God there was no meaning to life and no ultimate justice for those who suffered in this life. I was on the point of suicide. The college was more Marxist than Christian (then, at least) but there was a group of Chinese students whom I knew were Christians. I was drawn by their joy, their unity and love for each other and for life, their generosity, service, and genuine caring for others. I asked one of them to take me to their church and was led to Christ that day by an American missionary. I flew back to the States that September and entered a Bible college in Portland, OR. Jesus saved my soul and my life, re-focusing every part of it to live for Him.

I was a (high school) student when I wholly surrendered to Christ. I grew to a great extent in Christ before my marriage to a thoroughly Christian woman. I was saved in the midst of the revival of the early ’70s and I have prayed for it ever since – over 50 years.

A family member is an educational advocate. She has been escorted out of numerous schools for telling parents they have parents rights over their child’s education; school board meetings are, by law, open to the public. You can have school board member fired and also control salaries paid to each. Test scores are to be available and teaching methods questioned if children are failing.
If Woke is Broke applies to Target,, Disney, t he military then it surely is for children.
Jesus said bring the children to Him Never has the need been more crucial.

In addition to universities here in California which my family members and I have attended I’m praying for my alma mater, Multnomah University in Portland, OR, which seems to have strayed from its moorings since I got an excellent Bible education there nearly 60 years ago. I am praying for the University of California-Irvine, where my Christian son is associate director of financial aid. I am also praying for the U of MI-Ann Arbor where my atheist brother worked for his entire career and the U of TX-Austin where my unsaved niece is a long-time tenured English professor actively promoting queer studies.

Father God, our colleges and universities have moved away from You because we have neglected to pray for them. Forgive us, we pray. Raise up Godly student leaders to speak boldly for You. Raise up Godly professors and researchers and give them success so they will be respected and listened to and give them platforms to share their faith. Convict college presidents to speak out boldly against discrimination of any kind on their campuses and insist on freedom of speech to share faith experiences without interference. Bring intercessors to walk college campuses and pray for students and faculty. Bring revival to all colleges and universities and trade schools across our land. In Jesus name,
Amen

I’ve been prayer-walking USC Sumter campus; I am praying for the Technical College which is next door at the same time.
Father, I pray that every college campus, every technical school, every training facility that touches the lives of young adults would be covered in prayer. Move in the lives of our young adults, Lord. They need You. Amen.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
Romans 12:2 NASB1995
until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ. As a result, we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming; but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.
Ephesians 4:13‭-‬16 NASB1995
So be it for our Youth ,College and University Students in Jesus name
