A northern Michigan county that encountered controversy regarding the 2020 general election has decided to hand-count every ballot in an upcoming primary instead of using machines from Dominion Voting Systems. . . .

Antrim County commissioners voted unanimously to hand-count the votes of the upcoming May 4 primary. The commissioners rejected a proposal from county clerk Sheryl Guy to apportion $5,080 to hire consultants to prepare Dominion voting machines for the upcoming primary.

Commissioners are concerned that reprogramming the machines and then using them in the primary would violate a judge’s order. The machines could be evidence in an ongoing lawsuit; reprogramming them could delete data relevant to the case. . . .

In order for the voting equipment to be ready for the primary, it has to be tested for accuracy by April 29. . . .

The only options were to purchase new voting machines that would reportedly cost approximately $150,000, ask the court for permission to use the current machines, or hand-count the votes. The commission opted to hand-count the votes despite the process possibly be illegal in Michigan.

Antrim County officials are hopeful that the state will understand the extraneous circumstances.

“The state says we can’t. But let them come and tell us that we can’t, given our circumstance,” Ed Boettcher said. “We’re going to say we’re going to hand-count them and let the state tell us we can’t.”

“The ballots will be exactly as they are now,” Boettcher added. “We’re just going to count them manually instead of with the machine. But we want to make sure they’re going to certify it.”

In November, Guy conceded that her office — and not Dominion Voting Systems — was responsible for an “incomplete software update that mistakenly assigned about 2,000 votes cast for then-President Donald Trump, to then-Democratic presidential challenger Joe Biden.” . . . .

“These errors were quickly discovered and rectified by the protective systems our state has built in to verify and protect election integrity and were further verified when a hand count was completed,” Michigan Sen. Ed McBroom (R) said in December.

William Bailey filed the lawsuit on Nov. 23, accusing the county of election fraud, a violation of the “purity of election clause,” and said his constitutional rights had been violated after a marijuana ordinance proposal passed by a single vote, the Traverse City Record-Eagle reported. A remote hearing is scheduled for March 22, according to court records.

Have the Antrim County Commissioners learned that Trump’s Election attorney, Sydney Powell, admitted she lied in making up salacious stories about the Independence and reliability of Dominion voting machines and systems ?

That is not true at all. In spite of it being widely circulated (many news outlets mindlessly repeating the same false story). I will attach a link where you can read the other side of the story. But bottom-line, according to Sydney Powell, in interpreting Powell’s motion to dismiss the Dominion lawsuit against her, the press twisted legal terminology to mean something it does not mean. Here is the core of the misunderstanding: “Dominion claims that the evidence Ms. Powell relied upon to assert her claims
concerning the lack of election integrity is incredible and not believable. Ms. Powell
responded by pointing out that her assertions were her legal opinions based on the
evidence she presented to four different courts. Accordingly, her statements are not
subject to challenge under defamation law.”

I hope the twisting was done in ignorance & not willfully misleading. This link includes Powell’s statement in response to the above-mentioned false stories and also a statement from her lawyer.

Here is a better written article (more accurate) from The Walled Street Journal. Key take away: “In its Monday motion, Ms. Powell’s legal team argued that “reasonable people would not accept such statements as fact but view them only as claims that await testing by the courts through the adversary process.”

The motion further argued that Ms. Powell’s claims were political speech and are therefore protected by the First Amendment.”

Hallelujah! Praise God that this local governmental body will stand up for local control in insuring honest and valid elections. America was based on LOCAL government, as close as possible to their voters. May other governmental bodies across our country do the same. WE THE PEOPLE, in order to form a more perfect union, must take government back at the local level and work outward from that until the federal government must once again be ordered by WE THE PEOPLE!!

Agreeing with the decision to hand count ballots, I firmly believe Dominion should be ditched by every county, especially if it is proven that the system was deliberately designed to accommodate election fraud.

It’s good that they are removing one of the potential voter fraud issues from their area. Praying that they are successful and that the state legislature will certify the votes for their precincts.

I agree with you Edith and Karen. Counting by hand has its own difficulties and mistakes can, and very likely will be made, BUT, It is a far safer and more honest way.

Father I pray for those involved in this process in Michigan county and ask for a fair and honest outcome in the name of Jesus. Let honesty and integrity prevail I pray.
