I Prayed have prayed
Father, we ask You to comfort those who are suffering in the wake of this shooting. We pray for an end to violence in our nation, and we pray that all Americans would recognize the power of prayer.
Reading Time: 3 minutes

In the wake of Wednesday’s tragic Catholic school shooting in Minnesota, leftist officials and commentators are using the situation to attack Christianity and defend trasngenderism.

Pray for your fellow intercessor.

From Breitbart:

During an interview aired on Thursday’s broadcast of NewsNation’s “Elizabeth Vargas Reports,” Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey (D) responded to questions on if the Minneapolis shooter’s gender dysphoria could have played a role in their mental issues and the shooting …

Host Elizabeth Vargas asked, “As you know, there has been a lot of focus on the fact that the shooter was born a boy, but identified recently as a girl. He changed his name several years ago from Robert to Robin. You have said it’s not important to villainize the trans community, but couldn’t it also be true that his or her gender dysphoria may have played a role here?”

Frey responded, “Look, villainize the person that committed this horrific act. It was cowardice. It was evil. There should be no dispute there. But anybody that is using this as an opportunity to villainize our trans community has lost sight with a sense of common humanity. Operate not out of hate for any community out there, any community, operate out of love for our children. And when we love our children, we make the necessary change so that something like this doesn’t happen again and it’s not just lip service.”

Even following a tragic Church shooting, Jacob Frey, mayor of the city where this shooting took place, refused to defend the Christians in his community. Rather, he used his influence to instead defend the trans community and call for “necessary change,” likely referring to obstructions of the Second Amendment.

Of course, Mayor Frey isn’t the only leftist to speak out. Jen Psaki, former White House press secretary, shared a post demeaning to intercessors to her X account. In this post, she wrote that “prayer is not freaking enough,” calling for an end to “thoughts and prayers.” You can read her full post below.

Of course, the believers in the White House refused to let these insults slide. Current White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt took aim at her predecessor in a Thursday briefing, calling Psaki’s comments “incredibly insensitive and disrespectful to the tens of millions of Americans of faith across this country who believe in the power of prayer.” You can view her comments in the embedded post below.

Psaki was not the last prominent Democrat to use the shooting to attack Christians, however. California Governor Gavin Newsom also appeared to mock people of faith and the power of prayers, responding to Press Secretary Leavitt’s comments on X with, “These children were literally praying as they got shot at.”

It is tragic what happened in Minnesota, and it is also tragic how some of our leaders have used this tragedy to attack believers. As intercessors, however, we pray that prayer is a powerful weapon, even if these officials can’t see it. Let’s continue to pray for the families impacted by this shooting, and let’s pray that the Democrats mentioned in this article come to recognize the power of prayer!

Share your prayers for the victims of this shooting below.

We should all know the left’s playbook by now. They use these trajedies to push for gun control. Now they even mock us for offering thoughts and prayers. For them, it’s all about power so they can push their Marxist ideology.

One problem I noticed in the coverage of these comments, and we almost exclusively watch Christian news sources, is that no one clarified what prayer is and what intercession is, and what they are meant to accomplish. So how can we judge their effectiveness? Prayer is simply a conversation with YHVH, usually initiated by human beings who are drawn into seeking fellowship with Him – it usually results in comfort, encouragement, etc. but also perhaps in correction, conviction etc. We also lay our own needs, and the needs of others before Him. It is a source of strength and growing intimacy with Him. Intercession is initiated by YHVH, and is a call to legislate in the heavenlies using Biblical Truth under the leadership of Holy Spirit. If these aren’t understood the conversation concerning prayer is very shallow. Many only see it as summoning a magic genie.
I understand that these comments about prayer may have just been, a way to vent in expressing “Let’s do something more than just talk!” I get that, but downgrading prayer was insensitive, and shows ignorance of a very deep and profound reality – prayer and intercession do accomplish mighty things. But how do you prove it, to someone who has not experienced it? How do you give evidence of things that perhaps the Lord alone knows? We say “prayer changes things”, and changed lives is proof, but many refuse to accept that evidence or give credit elsewhere for those transformations. How do you prove that intercession has prevented tragedy, and/or limited the seriousness of it? Preventive intercession has no visible proof, because nothing happened. And saying, “Well it could have been worse!”, doesn’t provide much comfort when you are the one who experienced the “worst” part of the tragedy. I often wonder if there will be a scroll – whether parchment or a screen – in heaven with the title “Things that would have happened, were it not for the prayers and intercession of My People!”
Many who lack understanding of these things, are really just crying out – “If God is good, then why is there evil in this world?” Apparently, we have not done a good job of answering this question. Many who claim to know the Lord don’t even have a good answer, they just encourage people to not question, just trust. The answer is simple – original sin and free will – we just don’t like to take responsibility for it. Everything I experience that is evil is a direct result of sin – not always my own, but someone’s sin. We live in a fallen world, and our existence is a complex interplay of the consequences – blessings or curses – of our choices and the choices of others – but all within the Sovereign and gracious will of a Perfect, not just Good God.

YHVH, we cry out to You for those effected by this tragedy, please comfort, please deliver from fear and trauma, please draw into greater intimacy, , please give grace to forgive and reject any bitter root, please redeem what seems unredeemable. Please speak to the naysayers who have spoken in ignorance regarding prayer, and bring correction. We need a mighty move of Holy Spirit, to bring people into relationship with You through repentance and faith in Your Precious Son, Yeshua, and His atoning sacrifice. Manifest Yourself!

“For the time has come for judgment to begin with the household of God.

Whether trans, or not:
there is a denialism on the part of Evangelicals surrounding the public mental health emergency among white males in this country. White men are more likely to commit suicide, to suffer alcoholism, and to overdose on opioids — and statistically more likely to be the culprit behind mass shootings of this kind. (Again, whether trans identifying or not.)

Yet Evangelicals expend energies moaning about DEI and illegal immigration all day. When the focus should be on the fragile state of their own MEN – including the ones in their pews, at the pulpit, plus their sons!

And PRAYERS must be said to break off the sheer scale of gun IDOLATRY in the American Evangelical space!!!

An idolatry so thick, it would have alarmed even the founding fathers who themselves wrote the 2nd Amendment – totally unaware of how it would be abused and for what it would be misappropriated to justify.

Christians abroad are confounded by the extent to which American believers are so steeped in gun idolatry, to the point where some literally think the 2nd Amendment IS the 2nd *Commandment!*

Repeat:

“For the time has come for judgment to begin with the household of God and if it begins with us, what will the outcome be for those who do not obey the gospel of God?
1 Peter 4:17

The unbelieving community need to understand and realize just how powerful our God is to whom we pray. Lord make this so . The fear of the Lord be restored to our families, friends, and our children of all ages. Awakened to reality of our need of him. He is our heavenly Father to answer according to our faith. As God fearing Christians we stand upon the word of God , his promises, his steadfast love. And we won’t stop now. Amen

Unfortunately, we are being shown what happens when people don’t have Jesus Christ as the focal point of their life. This leaves them vulnerable to the wiles of the enemy. This is why many people are deceived and oblivious to what the Lord is doing around them. I pray, Lord, that all the deceived people in this nation and world would have Damascus Road experiences in their lives. I also pray for the people who were impacted by the terrible events of Thursday in Minnesota. Please send Holy Spirit comfort to them. Thank You Jesus.

The demons know the power of prayer and want us to stop. BUT WE WILL NOT STOP!!!
God we are calling for justice in this shooting, for our trafficked children and women, for the lies that have been spread.
Remember, no matter how hard, standing for Biblical principles will break down satanic strongholds! It may ruin our lives here in earth, but the rewards are waiting for us for eternity!
Praise the most great and .mighty Creator of the universe, Yahweh the one true God.

I pray for peace and comfort for the families of the 2 boys killed, and for healing and peace for the 14 injured children and the 3 injured adults. I pray for God’s healing for this Minneapolis community. I pray for the salvation of Mayor Frey, Jen Psaki, and Governor Newsome. I pray for a spiritual reawakening and revival in this country so that America will return to her Christian roots and to end this senseless violence brought on by evil that comes from Satan. Let’s put the blame where it belongs: not on guns, but on Satan and our human propensity to sin. America is truly in a spiritual battle, and the only way we as Christians can win this battle is on our knees in prayer, praying for God to intervene and us obeying what God asks us to do.
Blessings,
William G

That was the devil talking through all of these commentators denouncing prayer! One of his titles is “Prince of the Air”, and he always uses the “airwaves” as one of the ways to get his message across! He also uses people who are not grounded in God to speak through. May people not become discouraged because of these comments, but recognize them for what they are.

I truly understand both sides of this discussion. There is a huge difference between “prayers and thoughts” when one feels horrified and/or powerless; perhaps does not know what else to say and do- and PRAYER that moves mountains because it stands on the living Word of God; that is accompanied by spiritual directives in the heavenlies. Many believers do not know; have not experienced the power of God to change lives and circumstances.; even to change history. If we are going to walk in love certainly we cannot afford to be offended but try to hear the cry of someone’s heart when they say things like “prayer is not freaking enough” – in a sense Ms. Psaki and others are just saying what we already know- Prayer (though necessary and good) alone is not enough if there is not legislative and practical actions behind it. It appears to me that both sides are taking offense in the face of this monstrous and terrible tragedy. We do not comfort by uttering powerless words, but by 1)declaring God’s living Words and also showing up in real time. Some people ARE the practical hands and feet. Others are the legislators and still others are the prayer warriors. The morning that this happened, before it happened, I was in groaning travail and praying for protection over many. I did not know what it was but I knew God was calling His intercessors. If we had not answered this call, I believe there would have been many more deaths. And finally, yes there is a reason why the trans person specifically attacked children and attacked the church that he used to attend. It is wrapped up- not just in trans issues but in the very evil spirits that are behind these deaths. The same demonic agenda- i.e. principalities and powers- that seduces people in their minds to follow various paths that lead to “evil desires” and ultimately death- demand the shedding of innocent blood. So church, we don’t have time to be offended but we must press in to seek God and find out how to bring ALL of our resources together to protect all people. Let’s remember two powerful Scriptures: Ephesians 2: 1-6 which explains why people do the horrible things they do and shows us the way out- AND 2 Peter 1; 3-4 which reminds us that through KNOWING God (not just believing that He exists) we become partakers of His divine nature, and can escape the corruption in the world that is caused by evil desires. Evil desires exist in the world and they are originally embodied in fallen angels (demons) – and then transmitted to willing human vessels. Let’s all fight the real battle here and not get caught up in the spirit of offense. That’s kind of like a bull chasing a waving red flag.

“Evil men and seducers shall grow worse and worse…” 2 Tim 3:13 The spirit of antichrist is continuing to, “make war with the saints and overcome them.” Rev 13:7 So, yes, we pray in the midst of the ignorant rants, hail of bullets, the flying stones, the hungry flames, the biting whips, the glistening swords and PRAYER makes a difference for us as we, “count it all joy!” James 1:2. And as we, “overcome him by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony and they loved not our lives unto the death!” Rev 12:11. And we receive, “the crown of life” promised those who love the Lord and are faithful unto death. Rev 2:10. John the Apostle watched as, “white robes were given to every one of them; and it was said unto them that they should rest for a little season until their fellow servants also and their brothers that should be killed as they were should be fulfilled.” Rev 6:11. :These are they which have come out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb!”

Heavenly Father, We desperately seek counsel from Your Holy Spirit now. Why are we as Your Children allowing ourselves to be sidetracked spending time and energy in a battle with the world? We know there will be persecution. We must dust ourselves off if Your light and truth is not received. We MUST focus on those that are responding to the Spiritual food offered and not repulsed by it.
Forgive us for playing God on both sides of this division. We need You Triune God to ground Your Chosen and keep us praying for our enemies in the quiet of our prayer closets, and not smugly shouting on the corners at the top of our lungs creating more chaos.
Your ways are completely opposed to the world’s ways.
Help us recalibrate as Christians in this crazy and chaotic world.
May we be reminded to read our Bibles now more than ever. Desperate for Your presence, Your power, Your transforming Grace.

“Yes, if you cry out for discernment and call for understanding, if you seek her as silver and search for her as hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom, from His mouth, come knowledge and understanding.”
Proverbs 2:3-6

In Jesus’ mighty name,
Amen

    PS…
May we remember when it comes to our emotions and the confusion the enemy is working so hard on creating…that this is not about our own battle. The battle is the Lord’s and we are His soldiers. Let’s be faithful disciples, listening to that Spirit’s instruction to speak, or close our mouths.
How often in the will of His Father did Jesus close His mouth? It’s hard!!! I get it!!!

Let’s be known for our self-control at this time in the world.
Our leader is Jesus Christ. Not man!

People that say prayers are not enough or stop with your prayers and thoughts are the words of satan himself. This is how we know who the children of God are: and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister. 1 John 3:10

Our Heavenly Father. There was a horrific shooting in Minneapolis last
Wednesday. Everyone was caught in total disbelief, shock and extreme
pain and anguish. Two children who were praying in a Catholic school
were killed by a mentally ill Trans man. There were also 14 other children
and 3 adults who were injured. It was a totally tragic event.

The left like Jen Psaki could only say “enough with the thoughts and prayers.”
How could anyone be so cruel and against prayer. Prayer is the one thing that
brings us closer to God and Jesus in a faith-based way in hopes of having our
prayers answered. Especially in tragedies. All of the Mothers and Fathers who
came to school that day were grief stricken, especially the parents who lost their
children. A lot of parents were seen hugging, holding and crying with their children
to console them.

All I can say is the left really needs to take a deep look at their hearts and see who
is really controlling their thoughts. We all need prayer. Jesus prayed all the time to his
Heavenly Father.

God, please help all the suffering families in Minneapolis and let what the left meant
for evil turn it around for good. God Bless America and keep Our Country Safe!!

In Jesus Precious Name,

Amen and Amen!
