Lara Trump, former President Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law and Fox News contributor, reported on Tuesday evening that Facebook banned video from her account featuring the former president speaking and threatened to remove any further content posted “in the voice of Donald Trump” from its platform.

Lara posted two emails, reportedly from a Facebook employee, to her Instagram page on Tuesday night, in which the sender told her that her recent interview with the former president on her show “The Right View” is not allowed on either of the Big Tech giant’s social media platforms. . . .

A second email included in the post warned Lara against sharing her recent interview with Trump on Facebook and Instagram or risk having it removed. The email also reiterated that accounts that violate this warning would face “additional limitations” on the platform.

“This guidance applies to all campaign accounts and Pages, including Team Trump, other campaign messaging vehicles on our platforms, and former surrogates,” the email concluded.

“….and just like that, we are one step closer to Orwell’s 1984. Wow,” Lara captioned the post. Her husband, Eric Trump, also shared the emails on his Twitter account. . . .

While the Big Tech company’s website does not currently list an official community standards policy targeting content featuring the former president, the Silicon Valley giant headed by Mark Zuckerberg indefinitely banned Trump from Instagram and Facebook in January, citing “risks” associated with the Capitol riot and the president’s alleged “use of our platform to incite violent insurrection against a democratically elected government.”

“We believe the risks of allowing the President to continue to use our service during this period are simply too great. Therefore, we are extending the block we have placed on his Facebook and Instagram accounts indefinitely and for at least the next two weeks until the peaceful transition of power is complete,” Zuckerberg announced. “Over the last several years, we have allowed President Trump to use our platform consistent with our own rules, at times removing content or labeling his posts when they violate our policies. We did this because we believe that the public has a right to the broadest possible access to political speech, even controversial speech. But the current context is now fundamentally different, involving use of our platform to incite violent insurrection against a democratically elected government.” . . .
