I Prayed have prayed
Lord Jesus, protect our leaders, heal our nation’s wounds, and silence destructive rhetoric with Your peace and truth.
Reading Time: 2 minutes

From The Washington Examiner. The nation is reeling in the wake of the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk, a bold Christian voice and leader in America’s conservative movement. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) has responded to the shocking attack, announcing that the House of Representatives is evaluating “all the options” to strengthen member security.

Connect with others in your state in prayer.

His remarks come as lawmakers, shaken by the violence, are moving events indoors and reassessing how to safely engage with the public. IFA’s Kris Kubal recently interviewed Jason Rapert on such matters, and he gave tremendous insight,

Johnson explained that resources will be allocated for both residential and personal security for members, noting that the safety of those serving in public office must be taken seriously. This initiative builds on an ongoing review of congressional security that was first launched after the shooting of two Democratic state representatives in Minnesota earlier this year.

The Speaker also pointed to a troubling rise in threats. In 2024, the U.S. Capitol Police recorded just over 9,000 “serious assessments of threatening and concerning behavior.” Yet in 2025 alone, that number has already risen to nearly 14,000. Johnson attributed part of this escalation to the toxic climate of political rhetoric, warning that phrases like “Nazi” and “fascist” — often hurled at conservatives — can inspire unstable individuals to act violently.

“Calling people Nazis and fascists is not helpful,” Johnson stated. “There are some deranged people in society, and when they see leaders using that kind of language, increasingly, it spurs them on to action.” He urged Democrats and Republicans alike to “turn down the rhetoric,” noting that “many of my colleagues on both sides of the aisle are stepping up” to call for more responsible speech.

Republican Senator James Lankford (R-OK) also appealed for cooler heads, stressing that leaders must set the example: “When there’s a fire, you pour water on it, not gasoline.”

As we mourn Charlie Kirk’s loss, we must pray for healing, for courage among our leaders, and for God’s peace to cover this nation during a time of turmoil.

This tragedy could be a turning point. Let us pray it sparks not more division, but a renewal of civility, truth, and respect in our national life.

Every believer should make praying for protection over all the leaders in our cities, governments, families, churches, schools, etc. & make it a daily habit. As we get up in the morning, ask the Lord to place a hedge around them & their family members. Plead the blood the Jesus over them. Ask the Lord to send guardian angels to watch over them. Pray & ask the Lord to give them greater discernment & wisdom, that they would become more sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit & the schemes & plots of the enemy & always be on guard against the attacks of the enemy. May they never let their guard down, but always be prayed up, praying in the spirit at all times in Jesus name fully clothed in the armor of God.

Lord God, we pray against the spirit of assassination in this world and make changes in our safety precautions such as drones over roof tops!!! We ask you to protect our leaders and their families from demonic forces and witch craft in the atmosphere where Satan tries to kill, steal and destroy. May every citizen pray pray pray for our country in this attack on Christianity and civility. “Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me.” Amen and Amen.

We need to prosecute every democrat and news reporter that has ever called the President and his family and cabinet as well as his supporters, us, nazis or fascists or Hitler. These demonized democrats have gotten 10 times worse in lying and cheating and calling Trump supporters Hitler when they know it to be a lie. Since 2012 when they voted 3 times to remove all mention of GOD off of their platform they are all satanic; including our neighbors that are democrats! Evil and hatred drips from their mouths if you mention GOD or anything Republican. FATHER GOD please send YOUR angels to surround and protect all Republicans and their families from these satanic hordes of evil. I pray a hedge of protection over our President and his cabinet and every one of his supporters. Thank YOU FATHER GOD for ending the demonic hatred living in the democrats. Please send Laborers to them all for salvation and let them receive JESUS as LORD in the MIGHTY NAME OF JESUS CHRIST I pray! Amen!

Heavenly Father, We pray that truth be spoken in love and wisdom. May Americans respect those of different values and lifestyles than our own. And may we reject violent behavior toward other human beings. We pray for a return to godly values. Forgive us as a nation for straying so far from You. We repent and pray that revival would grip our hearts, overflow into our churches and engulf our public life. Let us love each other as we live ourselves and love and please You most of all.

Words have power and some of our leaders need to watch what they speak. They carry a lot of influence and there are many weak -minded people out there. Especially when our leader can declare that he could shoot someone on 5th Ave and still have the same following. Truly, that is nothing to brag about. But, we are all going to have to stand before God and give an account. Just saying.

Charlie Kirk was just assassinated. We need to focus on spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ and standing up for America and our freedoms. We need to strive for unity and peace. Many people have said incredibly inappropriate things about President Trump, like Nazi and Hitler. He was almost assassinated, twice. Your comments are unwise and inappropriate. God Bless Erika Kirk and his beautiful Children. We should all be praying for them.

I am harassed in my neighborhood from the not conservative now.
I have a blog and I get shocked and zapped by people when I publish about Jesus Christ and obeying God . Pursuing a godly holy life. Then I pay a cost from
Neighbors. Cops have not helped us either. We are all public figures when we speak out on our faith in Christ in boldness.
It is the season to know where are now! Be bold or shrink back…..Jesus Christ is worthy of our boldness in speaking out on our love for Him and His for us and all the world!

We need to lock up everyone who advocates violence against other Americans. Charlie Kirk’s murder was tragic and savagely executed.

People who rant murder against Jesus and His people on social media need to be found and locked up. Those who committed murder-like Charlie Kirk’s assasin-need to be sentenced to death. All events -where pratical-need to be moved inside and people thoroughly checked before they enter any event. Above all else we need to pray for total reformation in American culture.

Pray!! In the Name of Jesus Christ~Pray!
Christians, I mean: “Soul Saved~Life Saved” Christians must make a decision to be that “chosen”, to be that “laborer”. To Go Onto this Battlefield ⚔️ 📖 that’s laid out before us or stand on the sidelines and allow ourselves only to be ‘shocked into engaging’ with this Demonic force that has brought Chaos!
Pray! Pray🙏🏾 for the Church to unify. For Prayer Warriors to be fully ‘Equipped”. Pray for Our Government Leaders, those that have NOT rendered themselves as Vessels for the Enemy. Pray for Our President, his Cabinet and Administration.
Pray for the dismantling of the stronghold of the Media that has been given ‘permission’ to LIE, to continue calling Christian Faith as being Extreme~Right.
Pray for the Youth that are turning to Christ is this Hour of Darkness and Despair, that it will not end as soon as the ” hurt” 💔goes away.
Pray Our Strength In the Lord. The Lord of the Host. The King of Glory.

Peaceful, seasoned with wisdom,, NOT POLITICAL CORRECTNESS.

That is where this is headed.

The reaction(s) to a tragedy always knee jerk in the extreme to the previous far side of whatever it was that happened that caused the reaction in the first place

I believe that every congressional member and their staff should be fined, with an escalating fine, everytime they use words and phrases that fuel the inflammatory statements!
Their disgusting rhetoric fuels anti-American, and anti everything that’s good, actions and paid rioters. this leaves our congress and our Americans in unsafe places!

God is in control and always was and will always be. Being said that, we have also a responsibility.
The truth of Jesus Christ must be proclaimed at all cost.
The truth in our personal and national life, must also prevail, because the truth sets free even if it is uncomfortable at that moment.
Safety is not unimportant, but creating a spirit of one America, with room for different ideas, which don’t make us enemies, because we are one Amarican nation, is more important.
Safety can get more attention, but not more than changing the spirit of our nation.
Charlie Kirk has proclaimed the gospel fearless, but in the short period after his tragic death, more people around the world heard the gospel from his mouth through video clips than in his lifetime. God is alive and we must live with the living Lord. The USA and the world need that.

Much of the violent emotion and aggression is being modeled by members of Congress – they are setting the tone. We need to restore decorum to Congress. Violent language and behavior modeled by our leaders should NOT be tolerated as it’s sending the wrong message and fomenting hate speech.

Civil discourse should be applauded and allowed more time to speak, etc, but violent aggression and hateful language should be shut down immediately and the person removed immediately.

Those who promote peace, unity, respect and CIVIL Discourse should be applauded and be given more positions of authority.

Our President does not call people fascists or nazis or Hitler or a destroyer of “democracy” or garbage or any of the democrats and media’s hateful, lying names for him and us! Stop with the bold-faced lie that there is a both sides need to correct! That is a LIE! Republicans have answers to questions and we do not resort to calling them Hitler, etc. FATHER GOD we bind people in Congress and the media getting off scott-free after labeling us nazis or Hitler or fascists. Please put a stop immediately to their having no consequences for their rhetoric in JESUS NAME!

Sadly our president has used some pretty offensive language at times to speak to people he is having a difference with. He and countless others have used profanity and insults that I would never tolerate out of the mouth of anyone in my home regardless of their age or position in the household. We need to clean up the way we communicate with each other and restore respect to our communication. Just because we don’t agree with someone or because they have themselves said or done something despicable doesn’t mean we should lower ourselves to their level and react accordingly. We need to learn- from the top on down- to think first with our mouths shut and then respond responsibly and respectfully. We don’t have to agree with each other or approve of wrong behavior but we do need to respond to it in a mature appropriate manner.

As Christians we need to live in a way that Glorifies our God
      In every situation and conversation.

I believe security at public events is always necessary.
We live in a hate filled world, and since COVID, emotional and mental instability has spiked dramatically.
What we must not do is allow the spirit of fear, which is Satan’s greatest tactic, to stop us from ministering to people, or speaking out on moral and Biblical issues.
If we do, Satan wins. COVID was used as a fear tactic to try and do so, and now domestic terrorism is being used in the same way.
Instead, we must repent of our own sin, pray specifically and boldly, and love others above ourselves, as Christ loved us.
The Word tells us that
“in this world we will have tribulation.”
Christ was martyred for our sake, and so were all of his disciples, save John, so we shouldn’t expect better treatment from those who hate Christ in today’s reprobate world.
I’m grateful to hear that politicians are taking responsibility for their own hate filled speech. Now it’s time for Hollywood, comedians, commentators, video game makers, etc. to take responsibility for violent and hate filled content and speech.
When our nation as a whole begins to agree that violent and hate filled content corrupts minds and hearts, and turns away from it, we might have a chance to raise a generation that values kindness and respect above using any means possible to win or make a point.
May the Lord bring repentance, revival, and reformation to the United States of America, in Jesus’ name, amen!

I understand the concern for safety, but changing events and running only strengthens evil! Congress needs to strengthen existing laws and codify President Trumps Executive Orders re loss of funds for institutions, cities and states with lax law enforcement and endorsement of hateful, anti-American, Anti-Christian and Anti-Jewish rhetoric.

Heavenly Father.
I am thankful for righteousness that was displayed in Charlie Kirk, and should be displayed in all Christians. I pray you give us the boldness to speak truth in love, realizing that being likeminded with you will cause divisions Lord we know you didn’t come to bring peace but a sword. When we speak we should be gentle like the doves and wise like the serpents, not to stir conflict.
But unless the TRUTH is spoken we cannot turn the enemies of the cross away from destruction.
Philippians 1:27 ¶ Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I will know that you are standing together with one spirit and one purpose, fighting together for the faith, which is the Good News.
28 Don’t be intimidated in any way by your enemies. This will be a sign to them that they are going to be destroyed, but that you are going to be saved, even by God himself.
29 For you have been given not only the privilege of trusting in Christ but also the privilege of suffering for him.
30 We are in this struggle together.

Lead guide and direct us in the name of Jesus we pray.

Lord, I ask for courage, boldness, words of kindness and truth. I also ask that fear would not rule, but rather love. Perfect love casts out fear. Speak the truth in love. Lord, cause a change in the way our political leaders discuss topics. Stop the pointing fingers and the hate speech. May they set examples of how to debate, agree to disagree, and do what is right. I also ask, Lord, that You would destroy the powers and principalities taking our young people astray, deceiving them, disbelieving the Word of God. I thank You, Lord, that Charlie Kirk’s martyrdom will be used by You to save generations. In Jesus’ glorious Name and by His power. Amen.

First of all, we need to look at the people that are working security.
I do not understand why the high places around Charlie were not monitored Why??
Especially after they attempted assassination of President Trump.
You would think any
reasonable security officer would think “check the high
places”
Since the dawn of war high places have been used to kill your opponent.
Secondly, very little is done about threats. They need to be taken extremely seriously.

Since it says, “Pray for your enemies” including those who use you or persecute you, a good start us ti pray for those we think are tearing up the country and our lives and lives of loved ones. Their sins are already paid for by Jesus and we can count it so and agree with God that their sins are paid for, thereby forgiving instead of getting bitter and acting vengeful. “Vengeance is Mine. I will repay.,” says God, the Lord of Hosts. Fortunately, He judges perfectly, seeing internal thoughts, and has mercy and patience, waiting for person to repent before sentencing. I look for Christians to show gospel in how they treat the ones doing evil, showing love, care, outstanding generosity and forgiveness, since the goodness of God leads to repentance and we need all to repent and come to Jesus, partly so they’ll vote right in elections, and more importantly, so they’ll be part of God’s army winning others to Christ so they can be on God’s side fighting in the spiritual war we Christians fight by our will trusting God’s Word while in numerous trials. Jesus told Peter to put away his sword Peter had used to cut off the ear of one arresting JEsus.

I agree that turning back to the Lord, the One whose Name is I AM, that is the biggest need in America. drones do not help. at least to me. I agree using one to stop someone, stop by how, killing the person, would be more like socialism, Marxism. but there are people both in Butler, PA and at the recent gathering in Utah who did see the person on the roof, (at least that is my understanding) and those folks are the ones to SAY SOMETHING to a law enforcement person.
This is the season of the time of repentance on the Hebrew calendar. Let us begin to repent as a nation for pushing God so far out of our life. Blessed is the country whose God is the Lord.

19
    Mary Beth S.

Elizabeth, the problem with eyes on the ground was that by the time law enforcement could be notified and mobilized – it would be too late. I don’t like the idea of armed drones (didn’t notice that when I replied below) but I don’t consider surveillance at such events to be a bad thing.

    3
Art Wilmoth
September 16, 2025

Security Drones is my interest with enhanced capability for securing roof tops at political rallies or speaking events that have a 4 hour loft time with special software and control tablets with a high speed feature. The name of this device will be called an impact security drone. The roof top would be assigned to these drones or multiple roof tops, and if there is an intrusion by a gunman the high speed engages and the drone impacts the target disabling the individual at 100 mile per hour velocity. Yes. ridged spikes could be added. These are expendable drones, and relatively affordable to police department, FBI, and qualified licensed security with hd cameras of course and detecting software. Yes. small charges for Government and military applications.

Twice now we have had tragedy roof top shooters who could have been prevented at low cost.

Thank You

Turning back to God is the only way! And yes Charley Kirk would agree. This means every single politician included. Putting a tiny band-aid on a deep wound won’t work. All the man made protection will not stop evil. This is a spiritual battle.

Surveillance is the opposite of the freedom we seek. We need to not give away our freedoms in fear

    Mary Beth S.
    September 16, 2025

Art, I do think this tech could have given eyes to those entrusted with security and increased the likelihood of prevention. I do not believe that trusting God means we can’t or shouldn’t do whatever we can to counter evil with measures like this. We are to trust AND obey. That is how we walk in wisdom. So whatever He says is what we should do — regardless! — ask Him whether, when, where, etc. we meet, how we prepare, who we involve. And we need to quit judging each other in regard to the decisions made.
