Lord You are the righteous judge and You are always on the throne. We pray for comfort for the victims. Give them a peace that passes all understanding.

The apparent suicide of disgraced billionaire Jeffrey Epstein brought an end to one tragic chapter in his ugly and abusive life. But it is certainly not the end of the story. He will yet have his day in court. In fact, in the end, all of us will.

But before drawing some sobering moral lessons from the painful story of Epstein, my thoughts go out to the women and girls whom he victimized. May I address each of you directly?

I haven’t the slightest idea what it feels like to be trafficked or abused. I can’t relate to the emotions you are experiencing. But I can understand that it must be terribly frustrating not to be able to bring charges against him a court of law. Not to be able to look him in the face—if that is what you had planned to do—and give him a piece of your mind.

And I imagine that his death is small consolation to you right now.

But this much I know: What he did not pay for in this world, he will pay for in the world to come. The judge he will stand before sees all and knows all and is perfectly just. And based on the words of Jesus, I would hate to be in the shoes of a child abuser on that fearful day (see Matt. 18:1-6).

I also know that no amount of prison time for Epstein could bring healing to your own soul, and so I pray that you’ll be able to find a path to restoration and wholeness in the days ahead.

With that being said—from the heart—let me share with you some sobering words from the Bible.

These words may have seemed irrelevant to Epstein at the height of his powers. He was incredibly wealthy. He was the friend of presidents and leaders. He was surrounded by beautiful women.

Yet the words of Scripture always come to pass, sooner or later. As Moses said almost 3,500 years ago, “be sure your sin will find you out” (Numbers 32:23b).

Either in this world or the world to come, our sins will catch up with us, and we will give account —unless, of course, we have truly repented before God and received forgiveness through the blood of Jesus.

In that case, God forgives us completely and entirely, calling us to lead a brand-new life. At the same time, we may still have to do the time for our crimes here on earth.

With our true repentance, God will forgive us for getting drunk and committing vehicular homicide. But we may spend years in jail for our misdeeds.

With our true repentance, God will forgive us for racking up a massive gambling debt. But we will still have to pay off our creditors.

On the other hand, if there is no repentance, no seeking mercy through the cross, then one way or another, our sins will catch up to us. In the end, no one—and I mean no one—will escape….

  1. When my grand daughter was 12 years old (she is now 25), her mother and step-father and their extended family went to a nearby beach for vacation. It was their first and last visit there. In another part of the motel, she had a cousin who was staying with his parents in their room. She walked to their room to get him to go with her to the beach (they were both 12 years old). He opened the door and told her to wait outside for a moment.

While she was waiting, she noticed a woman standing nearby smoking a cigarette. The woman said hello and she responded. The woman began to ask her questions like “what is your name?”, “where do you live” and last of all, “how old are you”. My grand daughter being a polite child answered her questions. Then the woman said to her, “You know, I have a daughter just your age. Would you like to come and play with her?”. Before my grand daughter could answer, her cousin opened the door to their room at just that second. And my grand daughter went in. When she came out with her cousin, the woman was gone.

When she related that story to her Grandfather and I, I told her, “If you had gone with that woman, we might not have ever seen you again.” So I took this story personal. To think that my precious innocent grand daughter might have become the victim of a sex traffic ring is horrifying. Only God protected her in that moment and the prayers that had been prayed over her.

I pray for the healing of these girls. The only comfort they and their families will find is to pray to our Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit. I also pray that all those involved with Jeffrey Epstein as recruiters and exploiters of these young girls will be brought to justice.

  2. Heavenly Father, we will either bow the knee and acknowledge Your Son as Savior and Lord here or when we face Him in eternity. My prayer is that those who are or in the past, involved with trafficking, will encounter You here, while there is time to accept forgiveness and freedom. Thank You for working to unravel this horrible web of evil. I pray for Your protection of the witnesses and for the healing of soul, mind and body. In Jesus Name!

    1. Praying for Lord’s crimanal justice reaching all of those involved. That America see that wealth and power of the evil will will be no safeguard for their actions. Let us be patient for His timings.

    2. Yes LORD, hear our prayers for the victims who have been abused by this man and the other men and women who worked with Epstein or used his services. Lord, we pray that those who have been part of this horrible crime will be exposed. May they not just turn to another source to commit this crime against more victims. Thank YOU, Father, that YOur grace abounds to the victims. We pray that sexual abuse will end. In Jesus Name. Amen

      1. Our Father in heaven the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob.
Have mercy on us and lead us not into temptation but Deliver Us from Evil.
Give us the hunger and a thirst for you the Living God.
Fill us with your Holy Spirit so we can see and hear what the spirit is saying.
Help us to be obedient to your prompting and lead us in path of righteousness for your namesake.
Awaken your people out of Slumber and open our eyes to see the spiritual warfare we are in.
Strengthen us to stand in your Spirit and to work while it is day for the night is coming when no man can work.
Help us to keep our eyes on You Jesus,
So we can do your will on Earth.
Teach us how to intercede for the persecuted Church in the name of Jesus we pray Amen
