Sen. Lindsey Graham died suddenly on July 11, leaving behind a powerful legacy of conservative leadership. Now his sister says God is calling her to carry it forward.

Darline Graham Nordone was appointed by South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster to finish her brother’s term. On Monday, she announced she will run in the GOP special primary on Aug. 11 — and she says prayer is what got her there.
From CBN:
“It was a shock because it had never entered my mind that I would be asked that question, so it took me a minute to process that. But like I said, it didn’t take me long to realize that I felt this inner calling – it has to be God’s plan, it has to be God’s plan – that I had to carry on his legacy,” she said.
Darline Graham also said she had been “praying a lot” about how to navigate her new role. “It is a tremendous amount of pressure,” she said.
“I know I’m a hard worker. I learned that from Lindsey,” she said. “I feel like I can do it. I feel an inner peace about it. Will it be difficult? Yes.”
Sen. Graham served South Carolina in the U.S. Senate for more than two decades. He was known for his strong support of Israel, his pro-life convictions, and his work on national security. A preliminary medical examiner’s report says he died from a tear in the aorta. Funeral services are planned for next week in Washington and South Carolina.
Darline Graham Nordone has already been sworn in to serve the rest of her brother’s term, which ends in January. President Donald Trump is backing her run, calling it his “Complete and Total Endorsement” and saying, “RUN, DARLINE, RUN!” She faces competition from Rep. Russell Fry and Rep. Ralph Norman, both South Carolina Republicans. Rep. Nancy Mace announced Monday she will not run.
Darline Graham Nordone’s story is a clear picture of someone who sought God before saying yes. That kind of faith-driven leadership matters — especially in a Senate seat known for defending Israel and the unborn.

Standing in agreement with Darline for the calling she senses God is calling her to do after seeking His will. Praying God will continue to give her the wisdom, discernment & the guidance she will need for the job she’ll be required to do! If it’s not God’s plan for her to replace her brother, then someone else will be put into that position. The thing is when I read what she’d said, my spirit leaped within me. Just like in the book of Luke when Mary visited Elizabeth & the babe leaped in her womb. The same thing happened in me. There was an excitement. A spirit of confirmation that was taking place in the spirit. I believe God has called her to do exactly what she said – to take on the position her brother can no longer do since he’s no longer here. But only time will tell. We have been called to walk by faith, not by sight! In the meantime, we continue to pray!
Thank you, Darline, for stepping into your brother’s position when you felt God’s leading. It will be tough, but He has prepared you and will provide for you daily. The prayers of many will strengthen you!

God can do anything, and use anyone to do his will. If she does God’s will in all she does, she is more useful to God than someone with a life time of experience who depends on the flesh.
