Iran Ceases Cooperation with International Nuclear Agency
On Wednesday, July 2, Iran ratified a new law effectively ending cooperation with the United Nations’ International Atomic Energy Agency.
Who is praying on the wall?
Just the News has the details:
Iran suspended its cooperation with the United Nations’ International Atomic Energy Agency upon Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian’s ratification of the legislation.
The ratification occurred Wednesday, following U.S. and Israeli airstrikes on Iran’s most critical nuclear facilities last month,Ā The Hill news outlet reported.
Iran says its nuclear activities are for peaceful purposes and that it’s suspending cooperation with the IAEA until āconditions are met,ā including āensuring the securityā of the country’s facilities and scientists. Israel claims that it killed 14 Iranian nuclear scientists in its attacks on Iran last month.
As Just the News notes, this decision follows America and Israel’s decisions to preemptively bomb Iran’s nuclear facilities. Both nations cited Iran’s potential to develop nuclear weapons as their reason for engaging.
Now, Iran is refusing to cooperate with the United Nations, demanding protection and security in exchange for future cooperation. In the meantime, we have no idea what this nation is up to. Is it once again working on nuclear weaponry? We cannot say for certain one way or the other.
For the time being, let’s pray. Let’s pray that Iran’s nuclear inclinations are restrained and that Israel and the United States are protected.
