‘INCITING VIOLENCE’ AND THE CHAUVIN TRIAL

Father, we ask for Your peace over this situation and for Your Mighty Hand to calm the violence spreading throughout our nation.

Update: The National Guard has now been deployed, meanwhile the Biden Administration is deciding how to handle the outcome of this trial. Among the decisions, the White House is deliberating is whether or not to deploy specially trained community facilitators from the Justice Department. . . .

Derek Chauvin’s fate moved to the jury yesterday as they began deliberations after closing arguments. What will happen next? California Rep. Maxine Waters made the headlines over the weekend joining demonstrations in Minnesota. We have compiled key excerpts about her strong rhetoric in an already charged environment. We also included a breakdown of the charges against Chauvin.

Waters was captured on video discussing what the reaction of the public should be next week, in the event the jury in the Derek Chauvin murder trial returns anything other than a guilty verdict on the charge of murder that has been made against him. Here is what she had to say on the subject:

The First Degree Murder statute in Minnesota covers the following intentional acts of killing another person:

(a) Whoever does any of the following is guilty of murder in the first degree and shall be sentenced to imprisonment for life:

(1) causes the death of a human being with premeditation and with intent to effect the death of the person or of another;

(2) causes the death of a human being while committing or attempting to commit criminal sexual conduct…;

(3) causes the death of a human being with intent to effect the death of the person or another, while committing or attempting to commit burglary, aggravated robbery, kidnapping, arson, a drive-by shooting, tampering with a witness, escape from custody, or any felony involving the unlawful sale of a controlled substance;

(4) causes the death of a peace officer, prosecuting attorney, judge, or a guard employed at a Minnesota state or local correctional facility, with intent to effect the death of that person while the person is engaged in the performance of official duties;

(5) causes the death of a minor while committing child abuse…;

(6) causes the death of a human being while committing domestic abuse…;

(7) causes the death of a human being while committing, conspiring to commit, or attempting to commit a felony crime to further terrorism and the death occurs under circumstances manifesting an extreme indifference to human life.

The Minnesota Legislature has limited First Degree Murder to killings involving premeditation, criminal sex offense, a dangerous felony, a peace officer or judge engaged in the performance of their duties, while committing child abuse, while committing domestic abuse, and in the commission of an act of terrorism. . . .

It should not be overlooked that Waters made it clear by her comments that anything other than a conviction of Chauvin for murder is not acceptable.

“We’ve got to stay in the streets.”

“We’ve got to not only stay in the streets, but we’ve got to fight for justice.”

“I hope that we’ll get a verdict that will say guilty, guilty, guilty.”

“Oh no, not manslaughter, this is guilty for murder … as far as I’m concerned it is first degree.”

“We’ve got to get more confrontational.  They’ve got to know that we mean business.”  . . .

Waters is not prepared to accept any verdict other than a guilty verdict on the murder count, even though the trial was kept in Hennepin County because it is the most racially diverse county in Minnesota, and local activists demanded that the jury be held in a place where the likelihood of having black jurors was the greatest.

Hennepin County voted between 62% and 65% for each Democrat candidate for President between 2008 and 2016, and then voted 70% for Joe Biden — allegedly.

But Waters claims any verdict by the jury other than guilty — after three weeks of trial evidence where the State of Minnesota was able to put before the Jury everything it had on Derek Chauvin — is a reason to stay in the streets and get “more confrontational.” . . .

The House GOP leader on Sunday urged House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to take action against Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) this week for “inciting violence” in Brooklyn Center, Minneapolis, over the weekend.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said that if the House speaker doesn’t “act against this dangerous rhetoric,” he will take action against the Democratic lawmaker for her remarks at a demonstration in the city following the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Daunte Wright on April 11. . . .

  1. I pray Lord, this woman sees her own day in court. There will never be peace with Representatives of her nature.
    Please Lord, stop the evilness inside this woman.
    Debbie

    Amen! 2
  2. I thank you LOrd that the double standard that has been in politics is being exposed via the Maxine Waters case. I ask that proper prosecution be done to this government leader as it is sinful behavior and needs to be addressed. I ask that you bring repentance to her. Also I ask that people in her own party speak out against this improper behavior and stand up for righteousness. Jesus is LOrd over the house of representatives and I ask for fair exposure by mainstream media and bind gaslighting behavior. I decree truth over this situation and bind manipulation of any kind. HIs truth is marching on in the United States of America.

    Amen! 14
  3. My prayer Lord is that you truth will prevail. Based on the evidence, Officer Chauvin appears not guilty of all charges. I also pray that Congressman McCarthy is successful in silencing the toxic and incendiary rhetoric of Maxine Waters. She is a fount of evil in league with Satan.

    Amen! 11
  4. We have a common cause with IFA – to uphold the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, and to defend and support our Constitution. We are one people united under Christ for the good of all mankind. We cannot defend violence of any kind. We have law enforcement to protect our citizenry. Disregard for the law has become rampant and is destroying our country. May God intercede as we asked for his divine direction to face the problems and issues that are been perpetrated by the radical agenda being embraced in many segments of our society.

    Amen! 7
  5. Maxine Waters is so very wrong…..She was doing the same thing when President Trump was in office and she continues, with no consequences.
    What a sad representative of the office she holds.

    Amen! 16
  6. There are many here trying to undermine the efforts of IFA and its supporters. I encourage each of you to NOT respond to the messages like those of Sue, Angie and Jimmy. They are becoming constant commenters and they are of one mind but it is NOT the mind of Christ.

    Amen! 3
  7. There are some comments here that seem to be clearly rebuking those that can see what’s wrong with Maxine Waters. I don’t know what their agenda is but I can only guess it’s not good.

    Amen! 3
      1. we MUST talk about political things, because we are salt & light, every area of life needs prayer, you just need to be stronger to keep on not cower and give in….be salt and light!!

  8. I took the time to read some comments before commenting. It’s so sad what is happening in our nation. People in power can say and do whatever they want and not be call out for it. Maxine Water”s should be TOLD to retire!! She does not represent that state are district and had no right to influence those roioters. She has quite possible also influence the out come of the trial. Heavenly Father I pray that your Judgment will provail and your will, will be done. In Jesus Holy Name Amen.

    Amen! 13
  9. I am abhored that a leader in congress would have the audacity to incite violence. Everyone is so charged against President Trump and said he incited violence, Maxine Waters tried to incite much more than verbal. I believe leaders should try to stay neutral and move from within the government not be on the street saying, “yes it is ok to be confrontational, it sounds to me like she is permitting violence, war? I’m so sorry we have come to this. I believe she should leave the government and become a civilian.

    I pray for our country and it’s leaders. I shudder when I think of what our leaders are doing and saying. Please Lord, soften their hearts and bring them to Christ.

    Amen! 14
  10. I think Maxine Waters needs to be removed from her position or be forced to retire. (So do a lot of others for that matter). This is plain wrong that she is trying to incite a riot. Encouraging people to continue to partake in violence. What good can come from that?

    Amen! 19
  11. Dear GOD: Please guide Ms. Waters and many others like her to peaceful alternatives in taking a stand instead of one with violence. She and many others feel they should be judge, jury, and executioner. Only you GOD can be all three. I pray for Ms. Waters and those unknown to me that hate others and will do anything to provoke others in spreading violence throughout our nation. Even tho many people have hearts of stone, I trust that YOU can soften their hearts and give them wisdom. All things are possible with YOU.

    Amen! 14
  12. I’m sorry, but the argument cannot be made that Maxine Waters is inciting a riot unless we are claiming that Donald Trump not only incited but supported a riot on January 6th.

    Also I guess we’re now supporting crazies like Lauren Boebert now? It feels more and more like my Republican Party has abandoned me and that the Republican party has left the church as well. This is immoral. We have lost all high ground. Christ weeps in heaven for his children have left him. America is lost.

    Amen! 3
    1. I won’t argue your comment as it is yours to make but your logic is lacking. If you are comparing Ms Water’s hateful verbiage to anything being spoken by Pres.Trump, my mind cannot make that leap.

      Amen! 9
    2. yes Karen Maxine Walters is inciting violence, she is clearly wanting to create destruction. no way can you compare what Trump said to her comments. Not unless you just come on this site to cause strife and division intentionally…. Speak the Truth!!!

  13. Maxine Water’s comments are treasonary against the citizenship of the United States of America. I pray that she repents and if not, she will be silenced and God’sjustice will be served.

    Amen! 15
    1. Me thinks you do not live in America because at best you can’t read and at worst you’re lying and are deliberately making up your own definition of treason. Either way, God is not pleased.

      Amen! 1
      1. There are many here trying to undermine the efforts of IFA and its supporters. I encourage each of you to NOT respond to the messages like those of Sue, Angie and Jimmy. They are becoming constant commenters and they are of one mind but it is NOT the mind of Christ.

        Amen! 5
  14. Ms. Water’s words are worthy of legal action but so far, the pushback is only in words not action. I hope and pray that our representatives will ALL stand up against this dangerous speech and action with impeachment. She is a menace to society. At the risk of sounding sacrilegious, how do you pray for one such as this? “Dear Heavenly Father, we come to You to petition You again for righteous government at every level in America. Hinder, confuse, expose, and remove every wicked and evil politician in America, in Jesus’ Name.” Amen.

  15. If you or I did, what Maxine Waters did, we would be thrown in jail for inciting a riot!! She did the same thing to Pres. Trump’s supporters, when Pres. Trump was in office! She’s gotten by with this for years, over and over! She is a dangerous woman, and a woman FILLED with hatred and bitterness and revenge. Unfortunately, the same thing could be said about Pelosi and others.
    Also, this trial is not in her state! It is none of her business! “Fighting for Justice,” is an excuse she “uses” every time. She, and others, have NO RIGHT to try to influence this, or any other trial! However, that’s EXACTLY what she and others are doing! There is no way, under these circumstances, that the policeman will get a fair trial! This will be the worst outcome because of people like Waters. Revenge is a horrible thing! God says,”vengeance is mine, l will REPAY!” It would do Maxine Waters and those like her, to remember that!

    Amen! 18
      1. Surely you are kidding, Sue! I am a child of God, bought by the blood of Jesus. No one can separate me (or remove me) from Jesus and His blessings. Please, look at your spirit, your words, because they are filled with hostility!

        Amen! 5
      2. There are many here trying to undermine the efforts of IFA and its supporters. I encourage each of you to NOT respond to the messages like those of Sue, Angie and Jimmy. They are becoming constant commenters and they are of one mind but it is NOT the mind of Christ.

    1. Pauline, I agree with you 100%! I also want you to know, I’m not the “Sue” that wrote those horrible accusations! I’m so sorry that some people have lost their civility. The love of Jesus should be shining through believers now.

      Amen! 3
  16. Unbelievable conduct from an elected official. I think she needs to be removed from office.
    She, like the loud witnesses at the scene in this case, did great harm, . . . blinded by their self-centerdness and political ideology and are responsible for their interference which is bringing more harm to an awful situation.
    I pray for our country, for justice and all personally involved in this trial.

    Amen! 15
  17. I think Americans all over the country should write or call their Reps. and demand that if one more innocent individual is hurt or murdered because of the violence encouraged by her words, she must be removed and never be allowed to serve the public again! If our wonderful President Trump could be accused of inciting violence at the Capitol (which he didn’t) she should be treated the same. Impeach her now and send a message to all of them that Americans have had enough!

    Amen! 32
  18. Lord, I pray for Your peace in this situation and that Your mighty Hand to calm the violence spreading throughout our nation. It really is unnecessary, people Can protest peacefully. In Jesus name, amen.

    Amen! 31
  19. Jehovah-Shalom please send Your peace over this situation. Only You Lord can change an hardened and rebellious heart of men and women. Lord our Nation and it’s people need Thy healing. (Spiritually, Emotionally and Physically). Lord You are the Judge of all things. We surrender this trial, the Jurors and this officer into Your perfect will. May You be Glorified. In Jesus name. Amen

    Amen! 37
  20. All of what is happening in our country can attributed to the spiritual reality of Ephesians 6:12 (Armor of God verses) which says “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places”. We need to be praying fervently and taking up the whole armor of God, because we are in a spiritual battle.

    Amen! 46
  21. The Bible tells us that God wants ALL to come to s saving knowledge of Himself. That being said, I certainly would like to see Auntie Maxine brought to justice. I’m certain God will avenge if she doesn’t repent & change.

    Amen! 19
  22. Maxine Waters is interested in 1 thing, remaining in power. She does not work for the people she represents in her district. She will answer, to the God of Heaven for failing to do her job as a representative.
    She needs THE Savior. She needs a a Domascus Road conversion.

    Amen! 44
