Laken Riley made national headlines in February when she was murdered by an illegal immigrant. Many feel that her killing woke up many Americans to the damaging effects of the Biden administration’s open border policies. Now, months later, justice has been served.

The illegal Venezuelan immigrant who was found guilty of murdering Georgia nursing student Laken Riley highlights the toll that illegal immigration has taken on the U.S. and why many voted against it in the most recent election. On Wednesday, Jose Ibarra was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

A judge in Georgia convicted Ibarra on three counts of felony murder, one count of malice murder, one count of kidnapping with bodily injury, one count of aggravated assault with intent to rape and one “peeping Tom” count.
U.S. immigration records reviewed by Just the News show that Ibarra entered the United States in 2022 and was flagged for illegal entry and removal. A year later he was given parole under the Biden administration’s then-new policy and provided a work permit, the records show.
Prosecutors said during the trial that Ibarra, 26, who is linked to the Tren de Aragua gang, was out “hunting for females” on Feb. 22 when he targeted Riley, 22, while she was jogging. …
The Harvard Center for American Political Studies conducted a poll in October that showed that immigration was a top issue for voters going into the 2024 election. The poll showed that only 36% of Americans approved of how Biden was handling immigration. Trump ran on the issue of getting illegal immigrants out of the U.S., particularly the ones who committed crimes such as murder.
“JUSTICE FOR LAKEN RILEY!” Trump wrote in a post on TRUTH Social following the conviction. …
Georgia GOP Gov. Brian Kemp said that the U.S. border policies under the current administration failed Riley.
“Open border policies failed Laken Riley and today’s verdict is a reminder that the safety of our communities must remain our number one priority,” Kemp said following the verdict. …
Trump recently appointed “border czar” Tom Homan who he said will be in charge of deporting large amounts of illegal immigrants. …

Laken Riley was a nursing student. She was at the University of GA campus in Athens, GA, when she was brutally murdered. Athens, GA, is 50 miles from my hometown in GA. Just this month my local police (Eatonton Police Dept.) was able to investigate and arrest a Guatemalan illegal immigrant couple. The Guatemalan woman brutally bludgeoned to death a 5-month old infant whose hispanic mother (not illegal) had left her infant son for his care with this Guatemalan woman. May I say that we should have had 100 percent of American citizens against open borders. There should be no mercy for these people knowingly committing a crime, and I pray that our President-elect Donald Trump will send all back to their own countries. Open borders are nothing more than the sign of a country run by elitist One World Government Marxists, Socialists, Communists and Anti_God!. We still have citizens and Church who are asleep. Jesus Christ, Yashua HaMashiach, Father God, Son and Holy Spirit in One knows everything that is going on and He is in complete control. I pray that the billion Golden Harvest keeps coming to Him in the last hour of these last days, as His return is imminent. We praise You and thank You, Lord Jesus, the Judge of this world Who created all for Your perfect plan found in the covers of THE BOOK, the Holy Bible! Amen and Maranatha!
Father, I pray for those who think we should protect the illegal migrants that steal and murder. We need to have mercy, but you have given borders to countries. Open the eyes of sanctuary communities to see the truth that this invasion is not good. Change their hearts. And open the eyes of the illegal migrants to who you are and to desire life with you.
Heavenly Father – please give perfect peace and comfort to Laken’s family. Convict the heart of her killer and protect our nation from others like him. Help us pray for our enemies, Lord, that they may find hope of redemption through the One who died to save every tormented human soul. In the name of Yeshua, we pray, so be it!
Father God, thank you because you are a God of Justice, but Father I’m more grateful for your mercy. What would we do without your mercy, Lord. Thank you for showing your mercy towards this young woman’s family for giving them the courage and strength to go through a trial.
Father, I also pray for Jose Ibarra. He needs to be set free from the bondage of sin and its consequences. Please Father, bring healing to America’s heart. Let us not fall into a session of rage against other innocent illegal immigrants. Let us remember that not ALL illegal immigrants are Jose Ibarra. Some of them are here seeking peace and mercy. Give us wisdom and your place your heart and sentiments in us to act, speak, and behave according to YOUR Word.

Father I’ve no idea if Laken or her family are believers but I lift them all to your throne of grace this day in Jesus’s name . May they become closer to you and experience your all encompassing love and grace . As you heal America heal this family with your angels camped round about them. In the blessed name of Jesus we lift them up this day !!!
I believe they are. Search for the video of Laken’s father reading from her diary, a letter to her “future husband”. It’s beautiful and heartbreaking and shows her faith in God.
