This past week, a collection of supporters of Intercessors for America gathered to strategically pray in Washington, D.C. A special invitation was received from the White House Faith Office for this group to come to the people’s house for a private briefing and gather for prayer for the executive branch.

Gathered in the Indian Treaty Room, ornate and echoey, our group began raising our voices united in song as we waited for the head of the White House Faith Office, Jenny Korn, to join us. You may have seen the post on social media, which went viral, showing the intercessors singing Amazing Grace as Korn and Pastor Paula White walked into the room. Incidentally, Jenny’s post of our group singing at the White House hit over 1 million views on social media! You could feel the presence of the Lord as we sang and with the prayers that were prayed over the staff.

As the briefing began, it was clear that this critical department in the West Wing that reports directly to the President has a special assignment: protecting people of faith and representing their values in government. Korn shared that as long as the Faith Office is operating, “people of faith will have a seat at the table of government.” She shared how President Trump insisted that the Faith Office be located within the actual West Wing, near the President’s Oval Office. This proximity and the direct access to the President illustrates just how important this is to President Trump.

The White House Faith Office has created a revolving open door, inviting a steady stream of pastors and ministry leaders for listening sessions, prayer, and briefings.  Additionally, there is an embedded Faith Office staff member in each agency, who is placed as both a watchdog and a resource to advocate for people of faith in agency activity and decisions. But the White House Faith Office also needs our prayer. As a critical point of contact for Kingdom values within the White House, there is also a lot of spiritual warfare that occurs on the front line. Our team of intercessors prayed over WHFA team members for protection, favor, God’s direction, and strength and discernment as they minister at ground zero!

After the briefing and time of prayer, IFA’s David Kubal was able to introduce his new book, Impacting Generations, and present one of the advance copies to the staff of the White House Faith Office. As the group departed the White House, we gathered on the steps of the EOB for a snapshot. What did we see right in front of us as we stood on the steps? The President’s new car, his red Tesla, that President Trump purchased from Elon Musk.

What an honor to be on-site to pray and be briefed at the White House. God went before us, paved the way, gave us favor, and in return, we were grateful that we were able to encourage and pray for those working hard to protect our biblical values at the highest levels of government.
