I Prayed have prayed
Lord God, please take what the enemy means for evil in this pandemic and economic crisis and use it for our good and Your glory.

If Satan would have known that by crucifying Jesus, he was unwittingly releasing the very act that would allow man to reconnect to God, he probably would have never followed through with his devious plot.

Subsequently, if Satan could have seen into the future and realized the result of the “safer-at-home” mandate, I suspect that once again, the evil intent he planted in the hearts and minds of men to shut down our nation would have been scuttled.

We are now in a season of God encounters.

What happens when the majority of workers in a nation are sent home? They have more time to think and so they begin to create. For example:

  • Jim Bridenstine, Director of NASA, asked “What do you do with rocket scientists when they stay at home? Well, what they do is they build amazing things.” Working from home the NASA scientists and engineers have figured out how to take three pieces of NASA technology and restructure them to help fight the coronavirus.
  • Dr Rhys Thomas of Wales invented an easy-to-build new ventilator which will ensure that the majority of patients won’t need intensive care if they are treated with this ventilator first. In addition, it cleans the patient’s room of viral particles, supplies purified air to the patient, and releases nurses for other duties.
  • Many churches, with technology in place to stream online, have seen attendance actually multiply. One of my friends, Craig Walker, senior pastor of Upward Church, saw his congregational attendance spike from an average of 1700 on Sunday mornings to 2400 stateside, and international viewers spiked even higher.
  • Some people have stated that rather than “attending” one service on Sunday morning, many are now watching multiple services online–watching the service of their home church and then other services they typically couldn’t watch when they were at church.
  • Ministries previously restricted to serving one audience at a time are going global. My friend, Jon Pritikin of Feel the Power Ministries is an example. He shares his powerful testimony in schools across the nation and internationally. It can be an exhausting schedule, but for the first time he is holding a global assembly this Wednesday, April 29, 2020 where students around the world will be able to access it online. It will have subtitles in Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Hindi, Hebrew and Russian!
  • The smaller house church model of the first century church has been replicated in a sense during the safer-at-home mandate as smaller more intimate Zoom prayer calls have been created so friends and family can stay connected.
  • Consequently, large mass prayer calls and meetings have also been on the rise as believers around the world connect with a URL link or phone number to pray and discuss what God is saying in this hour.
  • The continued restrictions on our civil liberties in the face of this pandemic, some which seem to have no connection to the furtherance of health, have wakened a sleeping giant as people who have typically been silent are now joining in protest and prayer to support the president and hold governors accountable for decisions that are harming their states.
  • New songs & books are being written. (Quarantine Life by Matthew West is hysterical.)
  • New businesses are being created to meet the unique needs of this season.

And family and community are being reestablished.

  • Almost every afternoon and evening I can open my front door and see families walking their dogs, taking bike rides, or talking to other neighbors across the lawn, etc. In essence, community has been re-established much like the days before air-conditioning when families would head outside after dinner because the air was cooler.

Something unique has happened.

Instead of the Church, businesses, and relationships imploding, it would appear creativity, insight and prayer are exploding. While I realize this is not the case for every church, business, and relationship, it is certainly taking place with increasing frequency.

Why? Because God, as the Creator, created and we are made in his image. As a result, people, when rested (God created Sabbath rest for a reason), also begin to create.

We are in a season of God encounters.

During the fifty days from Passover to Pentecost, after the crucifixion, Jesus appeared to many people in random places. With each encounter He imparted fresh revelation and hope.

When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?” (Lk 24:30-32).

This is what we are seeing around us. Fresh revelation to create, a renewed hunger for God, and re-establishing of community.

If Satan would have known this would be the result…but he didn’t.

As states are now discussing when to reopen, may we not return to “normal” as far as apathy and busyness. Instead may we continue to press into God, seek His revelation, and remember the importance of rest.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose (Rom 8:28).

Lord, help us to remember the lessons learned in this season. May we not return to the busyness that keeps us from taking a Sabbath rest and which often keeps us from interacting with family, friends, and neighbors. May we recognize the unique lessons we have learned from this pandemic and recognize that you always take what the enemy meant for evil and turn it for our good. May this be the case for every reader and family. Lord, we ask that you would turn this for our good. Amen.

We want to hear about your God encounters! How has God moved in your church, business, community, relationships during the quarantine? Leave a comment.

The world applauds busyness and activity. I have come to see that time is something you can never get back. Time to be kind tech out to a hurting person. To laugh out loud walk outside early in the morning listen to the birds singing away. Look up at the sky the green trees, smell the flowers dig in the dirt and plant things that grow, Write a note to someone needing encouragement. Smile at people bake a cake for your neighbor.Sing songs together. Share around the dinner table things you are thankful for. Walk around the block keeping a safe distance smiling and waving to those you meet along the way. Thanking God each morning that he awakens me and for eyes to see His beautiful world. I do t want things to go back to the way they were we have gained so much more than we have lost.😊🌻🤸🏿‍♂️

Praise Almighty God,
My husband and I are retired and through this crisis we have been introduced to Zoom. The Lord gave my husband the idea to meet on Zoom every morning for a Bible story and prayer with our 3 grandkids in another state. It is truly a blessing. Every afternoon my husband gives the grandkids lessons on their violins and cello. What a remarkable discovery of how the Lord has planted a seed by which we can share the word and pray together as well as enhance the kids talents which someday will lift up many beautiful praises to our Saviour. God is victorious in all things and so are we as His children.
ALL GLORY TO GOD

I am in Australia and received this article from a friend and I am always overwhelmed on how so many Americans proclaim their faith in GOD?, I am amazed at the multitude of christian groups which in turn should make America a great christian country- but is not-?, is it because just like many other so called christian countries all these Christians miss the ” GOD ” command that we all should be ” ONE “?. I hope that with so much time to think perhaps this call of God might be heard and the world be truly RENEWED????.
With love and prayers from Australia

i AM now w/o fear! i have far more liberty to share the gospel with anyone! may the Lord do wonders in the earth, the half of which we will never know until we get to Heaven to be with Him forever in glory!

Surely this is a Joseph story world wide and in my own life!

He just increases my strenth in the Holy Ghost and I am unashamed with bold ness to be a Christian!

Touche for Christ and His anointed ones, the true believers who faithfully serve Him, our Heavenly King and High Priest: we serve Him as friends of His in His earth below His mighty throne. We bow and will worship no King But Jesus!

My fervent prayer during this entire situation is that the body of Christ would glean all that He has to say to us during this time. That we would see His hand at work. And that those who don’t yet follow Christ would be opened and drawn to Him.

This time has been very encouraging to me. My husband and I have started praying and reading Gods word together. We have gotten closer together and even though he still works late when he comes home we still spend time talking before going to bed. I realized what a special group of friends I have. This time has brought me closer to my Lord. I hear some people say they want things back to the way things were. I don’t I want us to be changed and take the time to care for another one. To taking each day one day at a time and praising God and being there for our neighbors. God is in control so why be anxious about anything.

Thank you for encouraging reports. Our senior residence Bible study group has grown during stay-at-home order. Current study “How Should We Then Live” by Francis Schaefer ( written in mid-seventies) has helped us understand our present day problems in a prophetic way. We thank God for directing us to this study!

I am 91 and virtually a recluse, but with the corona virus I was forced out of my shell. I teach Bible Study twice a year and at other times retreated to my home where I read profusely. Recently I had back problems and could Not drive. A sweet Christian friend has been my life line. She has made me see that because I was not able to reach out, others didn’t know I was sick and with all my trying I was helpless. This virus has made me
realize how kind people are and their offers of help are genuine. I thank God for His pushing me out into the world and for the Christians in it.

My husband lost his job of 20 years. So now we pray together everyday instead of praying separately. We also started taking Communion daily to honor The Father and Jesus for the Cross. When I take my daily walk I am stunned at the families working together in their yards (I never saw that before) also seeing kids and parents riding bikes together. It is like we have gone back to the 70’s.

Enjoyed this article. Thank you! Our Small Group, that my husband and I facilitate, prior to this stay at home mandate had dwindled down to just one other couple and us. I wasn’t sure if we should continue as facilitators (maybe we weren’t really called to be leaders??). However, now that we are meeting online, we have experienced unexpected growth. We have grown from the 4 of us, to 10. We are enjoying meeting together, studying the Word and praying with and for each other. All things work together, for the good of His purpose!

Hello my name is Theresa Reid since the pandemic my family and I have started Sunday service online within our Family page and I am so happy I did follow the leading of the Holly Spirit to start this with my family it has been a blessing. It is a very surreal time and I know and believe that God is in control. My prayer is that the government will listen to the leading of the Holy Spirit before they reopen. God is doing a new thing. We can not go back to the mundane why of thinking. We wanted to be so Woke that we forgot about the simple things in life like Jesus, Family, Love, Peace, Rest, Cleanliness. Etc. Thank God for Jesus!!! God has not given us over to fear but He has given us Freedom and Wisdom if we Ask! And a Sound Mind. No weapon formed against us shall prosper… He’s Still on the Throne He’s NOT Dead He’s Our Savior He is Lord of Lord The First and The Last JESUS JESUS JESUS!!! Sending much Love Stay Safe Stay Healthy and Stay Blessed!!!

This quarantine has allowed our two children to begin to heal their relationship. All of us FaceTime together at least once a week – most weeks more. In the past, they would go MONTHS without any connection and then when they would speak, it would be just pleasantries. I am thankful and trusting God that this is the beginning of total restoration and forgiveness.

I thank you for this article, you told us what we already know. Now tell us how to FIGHT SATAN! Give us weapons to fight him!

    Theresa O. Reid
    April 28, 2020

Amen I hear you.I don’t have all the answers But what I do know that the bible says at the name of Jesus the enemy has to flee! So I take the Word as true. We have to put what we have learned into practice. Stay with me if I am a dancer I study my craft I rehearse I practice and then as long as I keep doing this I get better and stronger and more confident in my dancing. So how do you fight against Satan with Jesus at the name Jesus if you recalled I said this in the beginning when We call on Jesus demons tremble you have to confidence that if you tell Satan to get behind you and I mean then seal it In the name of Jesus read Scripture like Psalm 91 you may have to read different translations of the bible like Message bible, New Living Translation that’s if you are only reading King James. You want to make the bible plain so you can get an Understanding. Psalm 23 we are reconciled in Christ Acts 26:18 I am just staying you have to have Faith you have to believe you musttrust God He will fight your battles the way to fight is on your knees in your prayer room having a relationship with Jesus not leaning to your own understanding and allow Him to direct your path putting on the whole armor of God. So no matter what You stand but let God fight your battle use your tools the bible study fast and pray believe don t worry or be anxious sounds hard it is but you can do it. I Believe in you!!! So that’s my spill I hope I didn’t confuse you Stay Safe Stay Healthyand Stay Blessed…

Remember Jesus said of the devil: “He is a liar and the father of lies”
When he says ANYTHING, remind him that you know he is a liar and that
Jesus defeated him on the cross and then Jesus went into hell and took
the keys of sin and death away from the devil. Openly, Jesus defeated
him and Jesus said, “It is finished!” This is your God-given permission
not to fear the devil or anything he says or tries to do. God has defeated
him, but he will lie to you and try to steal God’s blessings. You just say,
“NO” “I am on to you, I know you are a liar and you are defeated in Jesus Name!”
Then you turn your heart and mind and soul and spirit and all you are toward God.
Keep your compass turned toward God in thanksgiving and praise for all He has done!

    Karen Hardin
    April 28, 2020

How do we fight him? Right now I think one of the greatest strategies is worship. Over and over again it was one of the frontlines of defense in the Bible. Nothing has changed. We worship him and sing out His praise in the midst of this crisis. Second, we declare His Word for He watches over His word to perform it. One of the scriptures I am praying now is Nahum 1:9, “Whatever they plot against the Lord, He will bring to an end; this affliction will not come a second time.”

I am declaring that there will NOT be a 2nd or 3rd wave as they keep saying. God is greater.

I also am praying Psalm 37:19, “In times of disaster we will not wither; and in days of famine they will enjoy plenty.”

There are many different scriptural prayer decrees and reports on IFA’s website. I encourage you to download some and begin to pray them out. As we pray out His Word, we will see a manifestation of His Word.

Greater is He who is in us than He who is in the world!

Comment on “Jesus appeared to many” – yes – but not most. My prayer is that when we meet again as a body, our experience will be 1. body driven and not leader driven in both decisions and participation – prior to the scattering, congregants were spectators without the ability to give input 2. deep and spirit driven, not shallow and soul driven 3. We will see the need for small groups so when the next manipulated crisis is unleashed we will be in place for house church. In a body, all parts are important, especially the unseen internal organs. The invisible parts are more important than the visible. I’m not impressed at our stay at home model. In my state, our governor said the church is essential, but the church stayed home. Yet liquor stores were open. Abortion facilities worked harder to stay open than churches.

I have noticed on Facebook there are so many using it for church services to be seen on Sundays as well as weekday events are now going “live” from the churches. So much increased activity by the churches in my area online and Facebook. So God’s word is getting outside the walls of the churches in a greater way. Also, options like Zoom are being used for small groups of people in my area to meet online and get together in this way during the shelter-in-place that Minnesota is in. For His glory! I, too, have noticed people much more friendlier now. Many spontaneous conversations are happening along the walkways in my neighborhood. Praise God!

Through it all I have learned to trust in JESUS …..
“Come ye apart and rest a while “. Yes time to listen for the still small voice ,and draw closer to HIM. and become the true church that shines with HIS light and scatteres The darkness. Time to examine ourselves so we emerge repentant and triumphant.

I have seen this in my life and the life of my family. We have begun to be more creative in this Time Out. Even having our 12-year-olds becoming videographers for us as we create parenting videos and podcasts.
Here is a message that the Lord gave me for Celebrate Recovery Christian Support Group. This time can actually be a great Blessing to each of us if we use our time well.

This was a good thing to read for a reminder of the good that is going on. As an extrovert who gets filled up by being with people this time of isolation on my property outside of town is increasingly harder every day. No gathering together with the saints on Sunday, or choir rehearsal, or time at the gym to interact and HUG people. Trusting God through it though.
