Recently I received this impactful personal story of faith from a friend in the intercessory world. I asked their permission to share it with you for the building up of the body of Christ. That’s what testimonies are for, right? May we never stop sharing our faith-building stories of the move of God in our lives. It is the way we give God the glory, and spur others onto faith for overcoming the impossible by our God. I hope you are encouraged. In response, would you share a faith-building story of your own in the comments below?

What are we dealing with in these days? A spirit of fear that the devil and his legions (evil spirits) have put over us. Just listen to the news. The Supreme Court not doing anything about multiple court cases, Barr indicated he will not do anything about election fraud, and this virus is keeping people in their homes. Some are even being threatened for speaking out or blowing the whistle on wrongdoing. There is fear that wrongdoing will go unchecked and unpunished.
The last night of the Republican convention after President Trump had spoken we saw people leaving the White House on television and being harassed on the streets. We saw the video of Rand Paul and his wife being mobbed again and again. You could see the fear.
I knew three people who personally left the White House and were harassed. One was a smaller woman who works at the White House who said I only made it because I was surrounded by the Secret Service. Another phoned the next day and asked for prayer because of fear. Another one said I have seen all of this on television but to literally be in the midst of this and experience it personally, was completely different. They all expressed an element of fear. This is exactly what these people want. Fear. The devil is the author of fear.
Rand Paul asked the question again and again who was behind all this, and who was paying for this? The same demonstrators stayed in his hotel. They came to bring fear.
We know Soros is behind many of these organizations on the streets and destroying our cities. The question is, why are people like this, not being arrested? This creates fear.
But before we can really pray we need to make sure this spirit of FEAR is broken over us. Let me tell you a personal story of overcoming fear.
For years, my wife and I lived in a city that was headquarters for much of Al Qaeda. Needless to say there was unrest and killings. People many times were afraid to go out. I remember my wife saying to me one time, “I am getting to a point where I am almost afraid to go out.” My response was fear comes from those demonic spirits that the devil sends against us. We must stand in the presence of God, knowing that he sends His angels of protection to surround us. We must continue going out, not letting fear overcome us, but letting God overcome those demonic spirits of fear.
This was personal. It went on day after day, year after year. It was hard to keep your head above water and not fall into the pit of fear. If there was anything good about it, it really made us depend upon “God as our protector.”
We knew one of two things would happen. We would either succumb to fear, or we had to go on the offensive and go out and pray against these demonic spirits that were pulling down our city and country. We learned that we had to take the initiative first, before we came to the point we were crying out because we were drowning.
We began to make prayer trip after prayer trip around our city and area even into places that we knew were dangerous, even into high-security areas, because God had told us to go and promised to surround us with His angels. We began to get our new tribal Christians to join us in these prayer walks. They were and still are tremendous prayer warriors. They had come out of Hinduism and Islam. They knew the spirit world well. They knew it was life-and-death for them and their people.
For years we prayed. We saw one terrorist leader in his organization after another come crashing down. Each time we were learning more and more about God’s authority to cast down demonic spirits. Christ said to his disciples again and again, “I give you authority to cast down evil spirits.” We were learning Matt 18:18 to bind the spirits and to release God’s Spirits of good and blessing.
Why am I writing this? My prayer is that it will be an encouragement to you. As we are “locked up in our homes,” it is easy to be overcome by fear and despair. This is what these evil people want and what the devil wants.
PRAY
- Pray to break the devil’s stronghold of fear over us
- Pray and ask God if we have a spirit of fear acting in our own life
- Pray against a spirit of fear within the Church—may we be fearless because our faith in Jesus
- Pray there would be no fear within the body of intercessors
- Pray for the binding of the spirit of fear across America
Now the best part of the story, which is also my prayer for America: God was glorified by us not giving in to fear.
In our Mideast ministry home, governors and officials came to us repeatedly and said, “We know this has happened because of your God and your prayers to Him. Please tell us about your God.”
May this happen here and may God get the glory in America as well.

It would be well to honor truth rather than the evil deceptions of a false prophet. Prayer to forward the deception and false prophets who are engaged in lying which is of the devil. (John 8) Easy to identify a false “Chosen One”. “By their fruits, you shall know them.” Trump is completely without virtue. Pray that the scales will fall from your eyes. The tests from the New Testament are plainly spoken. It is a testing time for the deceived as well as the deceiver.
Would you be afraid, if you were in His Courts?

Amen for years I was afraid as God sent us on the mission field. To the jungles of central America. Disease crime and murder all around. God saw us thru everything but I did not know it was satan. I have been set free now for years. And Not even death scares me. We all need to ask Father to prepare us even for death. The truth is we will be instantly with Him. Why fear? Fear is a lie from Hell. Father You hold our lives in Your hand. Whom shall I fear….noone In Jesus name Amen
What an awesome confirmation! I just shared a similar experience of God leading me, a 60 yr old caucasian woman to walk through the inner city praying and extending His love and peace there. I did not sign my name i did not want to appear proud i wanted to give God the glory. As i obeyed i saw a 12’ statue and wondered if it was an idol, on closer look it said “Victory!” Lady Victory. I was stunned by the confirmation and the Lord speaking to my spirit that He was using this obedience as a catalyst that He would multiply in other cities like he multiplied the fishes and loves and the thought occurred thatHe had others doing this. What another awesome confirmation!!

Fear is from the devil. God did give us a spirit of fear. He gave us power, love and a sound mind or peaceful mind.

Hallelujah. We are here for such a time as this to step out in faith and exercise the power of prayer that God has given us and the authority he has given us over the evil spirit world. The body of Christ is going to bring much glory to God during this time in America. I pray God will have millions of people say we want to know about your God. Then David said, “God has broken through my enemies by my hand like a breakthrough of water.” Therefore they called the name of that place Baal Perazim,” (1 Chronicles 14:11). Wow!! May God touch all of our hearts and cause us to do the same in our cities as well. Even if we don’t see the trauma that you saw in your city. We never know if our city is next. We must pray and surround our city with much prayer. There is always something going on in every city. WE live in a fallen world, the enemy of our souls wants us to be fearful just by reading these stories. But Praise God there was a great testimony at the end of the story! To God be the Glory!! We all should have a testimony as well when we pray.
I am not a theologian. I hope I am not reading the scripture incorrectly. I am responding to the discussion of fear, and the church standing strong.Reading the parable of the 10 virgins Jesus told, I am aware that the lamp symbolizes the Message, the oil the Holy Spirit. They are waiting for the Bridegroom to come. In context Jesus was talking about His return and us being ready. But applying this to current events: The church all SAYS they are ready for His return or His intervention. We can’t wait for deliverance! Christians all have the lamps, but sadly, some are not preparing themselves–asleep, focused on worldly things and status quo, distracted by the enemy and also fear. They did not bring extra oil, meaning they are not open to more filling and the truth! They are not aligning themselves with those who have the oil! The others, they are child-like, teachable, open to God’s filling, persevering, waiting expectantly (but still prone to temptation like falling asleep!). They constantly are aligning themselves with others and when the Bridegroom comes they are ready! (in my eyes, to celebrate? To join the fight?) And when the foolish come to them, although they may be sad about it they CANNOT GIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT TO THOSE WHO NEED IT! This is a parable of the church today. God is refining the church. We are going to have a new Acts church after this! I believe that Christians who align themselves with TRUTH will be filled.
Father I pray for our church in America today. So many are deceived. I continue to pray for revival as you purge the church. Holy Spirit awake and convict sleeping Christians that their lights are flickering and they are almost out of oil! Father help us to continually to pray for and challenge our brothers and sisters who are in fear because they have forgotten or are ignorant of your Holy Power. Please Lord I pray let these words go out to more and more Christians. Let us fight for each other and hold each other up together. I ask them in agreement with intercessors here. God does not always protect His children, read any copy of the Voice of the Martyrs magazine or better yet, Hebrews chapter 11:36-39. We do the right thing because it is the right thing to do, no matter what the cost!!!

Father in 2 Timothy 1:7 your beautiful promise that you will give us everything necessary to overcome the enemy, ” God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of Power, and of Love, and of a Sound Mind” Abba Father, I now take these things that you have provided and I will live in the freedom of your love.

A few years ago, I was walking down a street in Brazil when all of a sudden a crowd of young men moved to envelop me. Without knowing how, I felt myself almost carried out of the crowd and was on the other side of it. I knew it was the presence of angels delivering me.
Lord thank you so much for this article and testimony of the power You have given us to overcome and dominate the spirit of fear….please bring this to my mind when fear tries to enter. Remind me You have given me every spiritual equipping needed in this battle..plz remind our Intercessors as well. You are there for us and go before us in battle. That is awesome and great encouragement! Many years ago my mother and I were on interstate 4, downtown Orlando. She was holding my 3 month old son – before the day of seat belts and car seats. My tire blew out and I pulled to the side without incident. My mother said, “What are we going to do?” Before the words were out of her mouth a big orange truck pulled up behind me. Two men got out. They had on white shirts and white pants but they weren’t painters. Within 5 minutes they had the tire changed and were on their way. They wouldn’t accept any payment. It took a while before I realized they were angels on a mission from Abba. We lived in Orlando for many years but I never saw another big orange truck. It was a wonderful testimony to our father’s love and faithfulness
I have twice experienced similar help on the road when a tire went out, that a young man came along and quickly changed it for me. The first was a man from my church who spied me from travel in the other direction across several lanes and median of I-75. The other, as he labored in the pouring rain, said he hoped someone would do what he was doing for his own mother, if she were similarly stranded! Thank You, Lord, who provides before I can even ask or think.
And a couple of winters ago, on the way to church, we got mired in a snow drift. No sooner had we gotten out and tried to assess the situation, but two trucks pulled up behind us, and young men armed with shovels and strength quickly got us back on our way – to tell the story at church, and often since then, how our ever present Helper gives us all we need, and in His perfect time.
Now, as the Lockdown began in MI, at first I was scared, leery of being near others or touching anything without gloves. Then the Lord reminded me that HE had not given me a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. So, using that sound mind, He reminded me that we have had viruses before, and that He had told us not to forsake the fellowshipping of ourselves with one another.
Then as the Mask Thing took hold, it became SUCH a divisive issue (several in our church are bound in fear, and others think it shows love toward the fearful to wear a mask in their presence – but love rejoices in the truth), I cried to the Lord repeatedly for wisdom as to what to do.
God then reminded me that He had created each of us in His image, and that wearing a mask renders that image unrecognizable, which is confusing, and He is not the author of confusion. My neighbor reinforced this by reminding me that a mask dehumanizes us by masking our expressions and inhibiting communication.
God also reminded me that it is His very own breath which He has breathed into us to give us life, and that a mask defiles that breath (making it soggy and disgusting), quenches His Spirit in us, depresses our immune systems, and makes us actually more vulnerable to illness.
In addition, God reminded me that He is the Word, and He has given us the privilege of using words to communicate His gracious, merciful message of salvation, and that a mask renders our speech confusing and unintelligible. Again, God is not the author of confusion. Also in this COVID era, the very meanings of words have been redefined, yet Jesus, the Word, is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Finally, though I’m sure there is much more, He has told us that in Christ the veil is taken away, so that all we, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. A mask prevents us from mirroring His glory in us with one another.
So, long story short, I have been going with unveiled face right past the Mask Required signs (on the rare occasion I’m asked if I have a mask, I just smile, say No, and keep going). Moses’ parents were not afraid of the government edict, neither were Jesus, Peter and John, nor Paul and Silas, to name a few, for it is clear that, though, yes, we are to be subject to governing authorities, we are not to submit when they are asking us to do something contrary to God’s will: inhibit the sharing of the gospel and God’s love for us, confuse others, lie, quench the Spirit, or not assemble together. Probably more is involved here, that He has not yet reminded me of.
But, tho, sadly, some of the fearful around me fear being anywhere near my unveiled face, I would rather fear God than the snare of fearing man’s wrath. I see that my smile of encouragement encourages others, such as those required to wear a mask in order to keep their job – some have even said it was nice to see my smiling face, and whenever I see an unveiled face, I tell them the same.
There isn’t any research I’ve seen that shows masks do anything to “slow the spread” – as if that’s even a goal we should seek: in years past, when flu and coronavirus season came around, we used common sense, the bug ran its course, we developed herd immunity, and life went on.
…hadn’t meant to go here, but, I know we are to give thanks in all things, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for us, and I have been having a hard time with The Lockdown, particularly the Mask and Restricted Gatherings part, but just now I see those are out of the will of God anyway.
However, I have really been grateful to Him for the slowdown: fewer meetings, much more time to spend in the Bible, and in seeking His face and His ways – along with the joy of fellowshipping with unveiled faces and hugs with my brothers and sisters in the Lord. That has been very precious!
So, thank You, Lord, our times are in Your hands, Your timing is perfect, and You do all things well. Thank You so much that when we trust You and do good, that we can dwell right now in Your promised land and feed on Your faithfulness, and delight ourselves in You. Who is like You!
Jesus frequently told us, and tells us even today, Do not fear, little flock, for I AM with you always. In fact, I will never leave you nor forsake you. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.

In a comment earlier this week, I was directed to Zechariah 1 and 2. Zechariah’s “congregation” were the descendants of the generation whose disobedience had brought upon Jerusalem’s exile. Zechariah stressed the presence of the Lord with His people as well as the necessity to obey the Lord…especially in matters of justice, mercy, compassion, and truthfulness.

Father God, I pray for our country. My words are so insufficient but you listen for them, thank you. I am asking that “You will be a wall of fire surrounding our nation and all nations and You will be the glory within our boundaries.” I am asking that Your Glory will be evident to everyone who has life and every knee will bow on earth as in heaven. Thank You for encouragement but most importantly, thank You for Your Son, Jesus, who set aside His Glory to live among humanity. 🎼Glory be to The Father, and to The Son, and to The Holy Ghost. God is so good! We just need to trust Him! Seven years ago I struggled with severe anxiety, to the point where it almost destroyed my family. I was paralyzed by fear. Numerous counselors, medications, and words from family couldn’t break through…and then God. The turning point came when I heard him in my spirit asking, “Do you want to get better? Then trust Me. Let it go.” It was so simple, yet so profound. So easy, yet hard to do. But I put one foot in front of the other and knew that God was good. That turned the tide.

I needed this today as I work at a hospital, it is easy to give into the media’s fear of COVID. And I am learning how to pray & this really helps to pray for the current situation in our government & the election fraud. And for all of the deciept that is going on in our government. It’s horrible & cannot go on anymore. Thank God for President Trump & VP Pence. May they exercise their power to end & correct this fraud & corruption going on in the election & in our government.

Thank you for sharing such a beautiful testimony of how to overcome fear. There is no greater protector and defeator than our Lord Jesus Christ! We must learn to tap into Him and his divine spirit and to walk with Him. Thank you Lord for IFA and the knowledge to be learned about YOU thru IFA. All through your word you tell your people “Do Not Fear” for I am with you. Help us to remember your promise of being with us. Immanuel means God is with us. You sent your son to be with us. You sent your word to be with us. You sent your Holy Spirit to be with us. Forgive us for letting the spirit of fear in us. Help us to magnify you above all the voices of fear. FEAR is False Evidence Against Righteousness . Help us to speak truth when fear comes to our doors, Your word is truth! Thank you Heavenly Father for your promises to us! We have the Father’s love, the Son’s truth, and the power of the Holy Spirit in us! We can say NO to fear and yes to your truth and promises. In Jesus mighty name!

It’s always great to pick up a new tool to use when rebuking accuser of the brethern and binding up the lies he tells.

How is our love perfected in us? By dwelling in God and God dwelling in us.
The One who loves us perfectly has paid the price for our redemption.
We have no fear of the consequences of our wicked past, God has erased it.
We have no fear of the enemy:
He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. In this way, HE DISARMED the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by His victory over them on the cross.

We have no fear of our eternal future. Jesus has promised to prepare a dwelling place for us with Him, and we will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. We know that in His presence there is fullness of joy, and His joy is our strength!

How we should respond to fear is with faith. That glorifies our God.
That was a powerful story and certainly shows the glory & protection God is willing to give us. This should help us fearlessly go to church, school, work, the market etc. all the while praying for the protection from and elimination of this virus. Where we do not fear we thrive. Yes and Amen, isn’t the goal to give God the Glory? YES! The Greatest event in the last months since COVID has been the increase of Fear in the Church, and Fear mongering from the Media.
People are eating it up, The FEAR, and rational discussions, which are out there, about the recovery rate, and low infection rate in young people is being purposefully ignored. There has been an agenda. It was once known as the “Stockholm Syndrome”. Create such an environment of fear, that the hostages eventually become the spokesmen for the hostage takers.
The only Hostage Taker, is our Lord who takes a triumphal procession of his captives.
I refuse to fear! In psalm 27:1 it says the Lord is my light and my salvation whom shall I fear. The Lord is the strength of my life of whom shall I be afraid.Vs2 when the wicked even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat my flesh they stumbled and fell.King David had to struggle with fear but he always remembered his covenant with God and encouraged himself in the Lord. Father I pray for your people not to give in to fear and to remember our covenant with you. You said you would never leave us or forsake us. You have not given us the spirit of fear but of power,love and a sound!
