I Prayed have prayed
Father, help us to humble ourselves before You. Let us move forward as a nation in humble obedience.
Reading Time: 3 minutes

Have you been feeling tossed to and fro this past week? To say it has been a challenging week would be an understatement! But in the midst of this turbulent storm, God is paying close attention to the hearts of His people, and the way we respond to this season is extremely important to God. These trials that we’re facing are not creating the condition of our hearts, they are revealing it.

The U.S. election has exposed what I perceive as the spirit of arrogance arising in the midst of many Believers. With this in mind, I feel it’s imperative that I again remind us (myself included) of the word the Lord gave me back in March of this year: “Humility is the way forward!”

OUR FIGHT IS NOT AGAINST FLESH AND BLOOD

While it feels like a battle is raging between political parties, we must not lose sight of the fact that our battle is not against people but against principalities and powers. I am deeply concerned that offense, bitterness and judgment will continue to drive our country deeper into darkness if we don’t humble ourselves. We must not position ourselves with the pointed finger of judgment but with the bended knee of humility.

It can be easy to think the candidate we voted for is clearly the only righteous choice to solve all of our problems. But to think that there is a perfect and an imperfect party is unwise. The truth is that there is no perfect candidate, just like there is no perfect voter. If we take a second to zoom out and gain some perspective, it becomes clear that whoever is running for a political office will have flaws, sin, and a past that has both good and bad moments. But I have hope in the X factor: a good God who is able to lead imperfect people in an extremely troubled world.

I’d like to propose that we need humility more than we need a certain person in office. . . .

2 Chronicles 7:14 says, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” All it takes to heal the land is for God’s people to humble themselves!

THE STRATEGY JESUS USED

Jesus displays a beautiful act of humility in John 13. Knowing everything that was coming against Him, He chose to humble Himself and wash His disciples’ feet. The disciples thought He was just washing their feet, but He was actually positioning Himself for the resurrection. Did you catch that? In the midst of the enemy making his move to kill Jesus, Jesus made a strategic counter-move and humbled himself. Humility is a weapon of warfare!

3 KEYS TO HUMBLE YOURSELF AND PROCEED FORWARD

Here are 3 keys to humility that are paramount to practice as we proceed forward:

1. Be teachable. One of the most evident signs of humility is that you can be corrected without defending yourself; you don’t always have to be right, and you posture your heart to learn from others.

2. Don’t be easily offended. Listen, carrying offense is a bummer! Have you ever experienced someone telling you a story about their hurt or their pain that happened twenty years ago? Yet, they recount the story as if it were yesterday, re-living the pain over and over. Believers, we have got to learn to be quick to forgive and release those grudges we’re holding on to. I like what Joyce Meyer said, “Harboring unforgiveness is like drinking poison and hoping your enemy will die.”

3. Be content in who you are, but more importantly, be content in who you are not. Authenticity has such a high value right now. People are searching to be seen, but it’s those who freely admit their flaws, mistakes, and failures that demonstrate healthy humility that the world is so desperate for. Being content in who you are opens you up to authentic love and hopeful freedom.

RIGHTEOUSNESS OUTWEIGHS BEING RIGHT

Revivals are never birthed out of being right, they are born out of righteousness which is rooted in Jesus’ redemption and forgiveness. God is positioning those who pursue humility to gain unsurmountable favor, wisdom, and solutions in this season. Remember, humility + nothing = promotion.

The Lord is for us and is guiding us through this tumultuous time. But my question to you is: will you humble yourself and follow His lead? My prayer is that the Lord will give us insights on how to be noble and virtuous; holding to righteous convictions; while being patient with those who are living by a different standard. May we align ourselves with God’s will for  2021!

I am in complete agreement! May we humble ourselves under His mighty hand that He may lift us up at the proper time. May our prayers always be launched from a place of humility lest we too become deceived. May we be courageous to speak the truth in love in such a way that it demonstrates the Savior’s love so that others come to know the truth.

This can only be done by spending time in the word and asking the Lord to change you and help you
in the areas of pride selfishness arrogance etc that come up. We will fail and have to ask for forgiveness numerous times. Must ask back to the word and prayer to overcome the world the flesh and the devil. Must trust Him to change every area until you become more like HIM.

Humility ALWAYS draws a crowd. We know we need it. But like the heavenly manna it has to be gathered anew each day. Too many of us indulge in self-flagellation and badmouth ourselves for lack of progress in this area. Don’t! Just bathe yourself in humility each day, like you bathe your body each day. That way you’ll stay ahead of the game.————— Several points on the article———- 1. “All it takes is humility to heal our land”. No… we have to Pray, Seek His face and TURN from our wicked ways…THEN He will heal. 2. Let’s get political for a moment. “ We need humility more than we need a certain person in office”. No…. Humility is ONE tool that we use to “ align ourselves with God’s will for 2021” so that we can get that CERTAIN person in office. 3. Lastly Kris Vallotton prophesied that President Trump would be reelected. He has now disannulled that and congratulated Joe Biden on his election. Oops! He is congratulating some one who is engaged in MASSIVE fraud?? He states that this was humility. No…. This is a betrayal of the PLAN God has for America and the CERTAIN man God has for America. Maybe he needs to write an article on how to “ align with God’s will in 2021”.

I agree with you 100%. God DOES NOT & WILL NOT bless “anyone” who self proclaims they “won” through the use of every fraudulent means possible. True integrity would step forth and publicly proclaim “there are questions and examples of fraud – we must reexamine the votes cast”. Biden and the vast majority of the Dem party instead are salivating in the drunken state of power and control. The means they used to get there are an abomination in the eyes of God. ANY pastor or proclaimed minister of God’s word who flip-flops based on political rhetoric better get back to the foundational word of God and start studying again what it says about honesty and integrity in “ALL situations and actions” in our walk in life.

What in the world makes a dirty stinking fisherman think he might preach the word of God?
What makes a greedy tax man think he has the right to minister to the poor?
What makes a young girl say, be it unto me as you have said…instead of oh, no, not me Lord I am not worthy of this. Surely someone else is wiser and closer to God than me. ?
What make a Queen brave enough to enter a king’s court in session on behalf of her people knowing it could be her death sentence?
What gives a shepherd boy the audacity to pick up a stone and walk out in front of a giant taunting him and then humiliating him by taking him down with a slingshot and then taking off his head with his own sword?
Being humble is accepting a gift without trying to earn it or without trying to pay it back.
Being humble in the Kingdom of God looks upside down to the world.
I say I will win!! I will do it!! I will have it!! I do have it!! Because GOD SAYS SO
Being humble is getting low in your own thoughts and beliefs and becoming pliable in the hands and to the will of God
Take the mind of Christ and be led by His Holy Spirit
It’s not what I think!! It’s not what I believe!! It’s not my truth!! It’s not how I see it!! It is GOD’S TRUTH!! GOD’s WORD!! GOD’S WAY!! That matters and in the end it is not that we should be asking …IS GOD ON OUR SIDE?? But now is the time that God is saying…WHO IS ON GOD’S SIDE?? Is God fighting for us?? Or are we fighting for GOD?? Is God bending to our will?? Or ARE WE BENDING TO GOD’S WILL?? What do we want God to do ?? Or WHAT DOES GOD WANT US TO DO??
GET LOW AND FIND OUT TRUE HUMILITY…JESUS SAID, LEARN OF ME…LEARN OF ME…LEARN OF ME…you will find rest for your souls. Amen
HE DOESN’T NEED TO DO ANYTHING SPECIAL OR MORE BEYOND ALL HE DID THROUGH CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD…HUMBLE YOURSELVES AND FIND OUT WHAT HE DID AND WHAT HE GAVE THROUGH CHRIST JESUS AND YOU WILL GO FAR…

When Jesus’ Ministry manifested, it was a very abrupt and troubling disruption in the flow of religion and politics of the time. None of the religious leaders nor the political rulers would bend to the true will of God. Their eyes were closed as they stuck their noses in the air against the raw power of God demonstrated by Jesus upon such unworthy folk. It rubbed against their polished traditions and all but ruined their pious reputations before the poor, hurting, slaves to hopelessness peasants. They became extremely angry and offended at Jesus’ unpolished manner…who did he think he was…the Son of God or something? Going around preaching to the poor that God wanted them to have everything they needed unto life and righteousness and telling them they need no middle man to approach God that God had come to them. He took away sin, sickness and disease everywhere He went and they resented the fact that He was taking away their crowds and glory. But it never stopped Him from Ministering just the same. He was crucified for coming to the people and being in their midst a true savior on their side. Those who crucified were offended because they always commanded demanded for the people to come to them and bow before them to get their needs met. Our God came to us in the form of Jesus and tended to the people’s needs and did not call for the people to come tend to His needs. Know what true humility means.
Be not offended at the stumbling block that looks like hypocritical narcissism …if a reputation is ruined it should have been giving God the Glory from the start…GOD WILL NOT SHARE HIS GLORY WITH ANY NO MATTER HOW CREDIBLE THE WITNESS MAY BE!! TO GOD BE ALL GLORY \o/ AMEN

You have been preaching idolatry and pure narcissism for the last 4 years.

Holy Spirit has been convicting me of becoming riled up with anger over the corruption in our government with this election fraud. The Lord is showing me how this affects the way I come before Him in prayer. He’s showing me how I’m off in that I’m not praying His heart but instead just ranting and wearing myself out. This correction has been humbling for me. I have repented and have asked Holy Spirit to guide me in my prayers. I know when I pray His will because I have His Peace.

Thank you for reminding us of righteous humility! Jesus is the primary example as he left His rightful place in heaven, humbled himself, and came to live on earth to pay for our sins.

This is a strategic time in history! I taught private piano lessons till Covid made that not possible as we have my 97 year old father in law living with us and he is very vulnerable to disease. He is also losing his ability to think clearly, so patience and humility go hand in hand.

I still keep in touch with several of my students; one I had not talked with for years texted me a few weeks ago, asking me to pray for her. I have taught with humility, patiently explaining songs and where they came from, like Amazing Grace and Joshua Fought The Battle of Jericho. But today God said boldness was to accompany humility and I sent this text to her, a similar one to an adult past piano student, and to my son who is seeking to lead his neighbor to faith in Christ Jesus.

I send this text so that others seeking to express the gospel may also use it to relate truth to those they are following God to pursue. Isaiah, praying much for Martin. I just texted this message in various formats to a couple of past piano students I am praying for. Thought it may be useful to you as you edit it for whomever God wants you to invest His Gospel in.

Good morning, (Name here)!
How are you doing? Praying you have recovered from the exhaustion of preparing for your board exams.
How did you do on your exam? Praying for God’s help for you, whatever the outcome, because God has good purpose in it.
God’s perspective is really important! Romans 3:10-12 says, “as it is written, ‘None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God. All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.’” I know we think we are good when we do good things but I am reminded that Proverbs 3:7 says, “Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD, and turn away from evil.” So I realize that our opinions of ourselves are faulty and lead us to evil; it is God’s opinion that matters!
God’s Word says in Romans 6:23, “the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Jesus is the one who changes us from being spiritually dead to being spiritually alive, and His life in us will last forever! We can’t buy Him or earn our way into His graces because we will always come up short. We can never measure up to perfection. So we simply receive Him to save us from destruction and to be in control of our lives.
Romans 10:9-10 explains, “if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses (what has been believed) and is saved.”
I am praying for you that you will understand these truths and put your trust in Christ Jesus alone, not in anything you do or have done. When Jesus died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins, He did everything that needed to be done for our salvation! We just need to receive it by faith!
Please call me if you have questions or just want to talk. This is vital truth for life.

So I fast and pray for those God has called me invest in, knowing that as I abide in him and his words abide in me, I will ask him that which is in line with his will, and he promises it will be done!

It is humbling to realize that we were born in this generation for such a time as this. That we would be able to participate with the Lord in advancing his kingdom on Earth as it is in heaven. It’s imperative that we see this as a spiritual battle and not as a political fight. I agree with those who have taken a a stand for innocent children being murdered as well as all the other atrocities referred to. The corruption and Evil in our Nation is becoming more evident as the weeks go by. There is no arrogance or Pride in standing for the truth and being unwilling to compromise in prayer or and activities to exposed this present Darkness. I appreciate the articles points of remaining in humility. But I refuse to lay down and allow this to continue, without correcting it reproving it and rebuking it according to the word of God. We must leave everything on the battlefield here. The soul of our nation is at stake. Some may still call us prideful or arrogant. But God knows our heart.

Years ago, Joyce Meyer was doing teaching at the Tacoma dome. On Friday she said she would reveal what the topic was for Saturday and wanting to see what people thought of it. The topic was pride and humility, and more people showed up for that meeting than the other nights. Her comment was that within the body the church, many do not like the topic of pride and humility, but it is a topic that is greatly needed in not just the body, but the world today. I pray that we all out down the eyes of pride to take up the eyes of humility, and be the change this great Nation needs.

Thank you so much for this timely reminder…just imagining Christ humbling Himself and washing His disciples feet knowing He was going to the cross and all around would betray Him, is very convicting. I pray I will keep that vision in my heart through this holiday season. My attitude needs that check as we share a meal with others that may think different than me. Lord please give me your humility so others can see You in me.

Yes the hardest thing to do is remain untarnished by acts of evil and injustice. we must remind ourselves of the the grace we have received and continually receive even over the smallest of things. Father we humble ourselves before your mighty hand recognizing our tendency as human beings to wayward sin and self elevation. Purify us lord and remove all pride from us as only your power can do. fill us with love for others even those who oppose what is righteous and good. As we stand for what is right, and fight the good fight of faith, help us to never loose sight of your divine purposes, to seek and save that which is lost. Father help to always align ourselves with what you’re doing in every situation and every season. As watchers on the wall, help us to see from heavens perspective, and give us the words to pray, that they would always be heard by you. We know if you hear us we have our petitions. Father do not allow us to be complacent or lazy, but fill us with your holy fire that we can enter the battle that rages against the souls of all man kind. Help and be untarnished in the fight. Forgive our trespasses as we forgive all who also trespass and lead us away from the temptations of evil and pride. Heal our land in jesus name.

Humility is key to our walk with God. Being teachable is another key and sometimes to bring about humility, God will use the strangest things to teach. God will also use those that are like sandpaper to our lives to see how the “humility 101
” class is coming along.
That most certainly applies in the world of politics. But I would caution one point here. In the political realm, where we stand as uncompromising Christians – we must stand fast and firm. In today’s political realm, candidates and parties will try to ride the fence line to claim votes. Adhere to those and vote with candidates that want to advance God’s commands and principles – not candidates or parties that appeal to our sometimes misguided belief system. IF we know God and his word, it becomes a much easier position when it comes down to who to vote for.
Another important key in humility – you cannot know God without getting to thoroughly know and understand his word.

I agree with this for the most part – humility is certainly something we should all be praying for. However, this is NOT about a candidate – it is about truth versus lies and cheating. This election was stolen – there is no doubt that massive fraud took place. Also, the Democrat party has completely gone against God with its support of late-term abortion and same-sex marriage. If the Republican party platform endorsed those things, we would be against them as well (but they are officially pro life and pro marriage as defined by God). That is why we MUST stand and pray that God will fight for us in this election!

As I’ve prayed about these challenging political times (which we know is a spiritual battle), I have asked for God’s will and that all may see God’s hand in everything, to His glory.

Still, whenever I see those who support and even celebrate the slaughter of God’s innocent, defenseless unborn children “win”, my anger makes it hard to avoid self-righteousness. When I see cheaters “win”, liars ” win” … it can be so hard, despite recognizing my own sin and imperfection.

Thank you for this important reminder of the importance of humility. I pray to be ever more humble before our almighty God.

Dear Lord God I repent of pride and offense thank you for your grace humbling me in Jesus name.
Amen

The Lord wants us to forgive and walk on love and humility! Give thanks to the Lord and rejoice!

The other week I thought about Jesus’s show of humility as He washed the feel of His friends. He was not concerned with their response as much as His concern for others.

We must follow and trust that although we are in a spiritual war, our victory is in what Jesus has already done. Let us honor God as the battle is not ours its the Lord’s.

We must repent of pride and have faith in God. Jesus came for the lost and they are watching the children of God. Unity in the body of Christ seems impossible, yet we know nothing is impossible with God.
We are children of light.

Love Faith and Hope!

This is SO correct….we are in this situation in the first place because of our blindness, apathy, and pride. And I’m the worst offender!
God help us to step forward now, and take our places in the battle.
No more – pastors who don’t speak the truth from the pulpit about sin, and what is going on in the world.
No more – babies being killed
No more – homelessness and poverty unaddressed by the church
No more – ungodly, perverse indoctrination, masquerading as education for our children

by this tsunami of lying, demonic actions that really can’t be defined with any one
label; but we mothers who know the Lord know that it is generated by the lying devil.
In the course of any one day, my prayers are very numerous for these sons and daughters
(my son is one of them). It seems to be too much to take that so much deception could
reside in someone that I love so much and the pain is too much for me. But God is a
loving Father and His Word is Truth. Because He is a God of loving kindness, I can be

All these things My hand has made, and so all these things came to be, declares the Lord. But this is the one to whom I will look: he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at My word.
Isaiah 66:2 ESV

Because your heart was tender and you humbled yourself before God when you heard his words against this place and its inhabitants, and you have humbled yourself before Me and have torn your clothes and wept before Me, I also have heard you, declares the Lord.
2 Chronicles 34:27 ESV

I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Ephesians 4 1-3

Father God,
By the power of Your Holy Spirit, examine our hearts and reveal the sin of pride in us that we will repent before You with brokenness. Seeing what our sin of pride caused, let us come before the cross of Jesus and gaze at our Saviour. Seeking forgiveness and cleansing. And by Your Spirit, give us the strength to die to the sin of pride and to live with a humble heart before You and others. In the mighty name of Jesus. Amen

The reward of humility and the fear of the Lord Are riches, honor and life.
