President Trump signed an executive order to start pulling the federal government out of K-12 education, following through on a campaign promise to return school control to state and local officials.
The order, dubbed the “Education Federalism Executive Order,” will launch a 300-day review of Obama-era regulations and guidance for school districts and directs Education Secretary Betsy DeVos to modify or repeal measures she deems an overreach by the federal government. . . .
[P]revious administrations had increasingly forced schools to comply with “whims and dictates” from Washington, but his administration would break the trend.
“We know local communities know it best and do it best,” said Mr. Trump, who was joined by several Republican governors for the signing. “The time has come to empower teachers and parents to make the decisions that help their students achieve success.”
Ms. DeVos and Vice President Mike Pence were on hand for the ceremony, which was attended by about 25 people, including teachers, lawmakers and the governors.
The executive order is not expected to have an immediate impact on school districts. Policy changes will follow a report on the findings of the review.
The review will be spearheaded by the Department of Education’s Regulatory Review Task Force, according to the order.
Ms. DeVos already has authority to modify or repeal regulations that are deemed a violation of federal law. The order, however, creates a review for identifying those areas and makes clear her mandate from the president to take action. (Excerpted from The Washington Times, by S.A. Miller.)

Praise God for some common sense & wisdom coming from leadership. The education system desperately needs improvement & cleansing.
Praise the Living God for this great news. I may say also we do need to truly truly pray, because a state like NY, I don’t know if it will work out for good or not. I was a teacher and left, currently I do sub, and in NYC, we need a lot of reform in our educational system. They do promote a lot of immoral agenda, at this point ,as I said earlier, Christian educators , Christian parents, the Church need to intercede and engage and trust the Lord. The Word says in the last days, perilous time shall come, people will be lovers of themselves , they will turn their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.But, should we cross our hand and not fighting the good fight because prophecies will come to pass any way.Not so,we still need to pray and keep up the good fight. On that note,I’m encouraging any real Christians to stand in the gap for God to turn things for His glory in NYC. As for many other states, I believe it will work very well for them.

Thank you Lord for President Trumps wisdom in this executive order. Now may local and state boards of education come into the divine order for public education established by the founding fathers of our nation.Amen
Now is the time for Christians to get super involved in schools. not in an overbearing way but in love and run for school boards members and State boards. Do your home work and find the best candidate, pray for wisdom then vote. I know this is a spiritual battle, and only won by fasting and prayer then following through with what God has directed.
Heavenly Father, we pray for the states education system to come in line with God’s word and with our US Constitution, Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence and the Federalist Papers. We pray that “Absolute Truth” will once again be taught, that respect and gentleness will be taught. Let there be Light in the classrooms, teachers prep rooms, PTA and School Site Councils, and in School District Board Rooms. Amen.

I pray that these changes will be fairly reported and will be embraced by parents, and that they will advocate within their state for unbiased curriculum that is accepting of traditional values – in Jesus name.
Isn’t anyone aware of the sex Ed curriculum which includes pornography that is being forced on children as young as 7? The people are rising up against it but we have a long way to go.
The liberal agenda has turned twords our children. So destructive of the Godly

It’s about time…..a generation of children have been subjected to social experiments concerning sex education, left wing propaganda, and worst of all…..robbed of freedoms of speech and the basic principles of right and wrong….according to the Bible….Truth in the Ten Commandments. How great is our God to raise up men as President Trump and Mike Pence to lead our country back to basic, common sense Truth. “All thy children shall be taught of the Lord, and great shall be the peace of thy children.” God’s wisdom always brings order and restores, redeems, and blesses.
May the Governors and all those officials, teachers and parents who love freedom and want to see their children grow in wisdom, real learning, with love for country and home, parents, learning respect for one another and having hope for the future, now rise up and feel free to latch onto this Executive Order to get our schools back. God be with Betsy DeVos as she plunges into a new day for Education in America. Make her way clear, free from entanglement of courts and deceivers and anti American propaganda voices. To God be the glory.

As a retired Educator, I celebrate this decision. The No Child Left Behind policy was disastrous (GW Bush). It undermined teacher’s ability to refer students to administrative discipline and as a result chaos in the classroom increasedpreventing teachers to teach and students to learn. Thank you Lord, for President Trump, who listens to the people. Please protect him and those who are fighting for the people and for your righteousness. 🙌
This is a prayer answered. Our state knows what is best for our children, allow the teachers to teach in lieu of following someone orders from Washington.
Pray also for the states education system to come in line with God’s word. I live in a state that could go farther down the dark path(WA)
