In recent years, the topic of transgender identity has become a focal point in societal discourse. However, it’s important to note that the percentage of individuals who identify as transgender is less than 2%, according to a recent survey conducted by the Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI).

The survey, which was funded by donors advocating for sexual autonomy, revealed that fewer than 2% of Americans identified as “transgender or nonbinary.” This figure also includes individuals who identify as both “straight” (heterosexual) and “non-binary/something else.”

These statistics raise questions about the proportionate attention given to transgender issues in the media and politics, considering the small percentage of the population that identifies as such. The media’s portrayal of “trans kids” as a victimized minority is often used to rally activists voters for elections, despite the small percentage of the population that this group represents.

The push for “transgender rights” often involves rewriting laws and rules against sexual discrimination to include people who identify with a gender different from their biological sex. This shift has significant implications, such as allowing biological males to compete in women’s sports or enter women’s private spaces.

While it’s essential to respect individual rights and freedoms, it’s equally important to consider the potential consequences of these changes on societal norms and structures. For instance, the growing acceptance of transgender identities among younger Americans, as indicated by the PRRI survey, could have long-term effects on societal perceptions of gender and sexuality.

Is it really worth rewriting society, putting biological women at risk, and putting aside biblical and biological truth for the sake of less than two percent of the population? Many in the mainstream media and the current administration seem to think so. Just recently, in Biden’s State of the Union speech, he said, “Let’s also pass the bipartisan Equality Act to ensure LGBTQ Americans, especially transgender young people, can live with safety and dignity.” Clearly, despite the miniscule size of the population, Biden has placed transgender people at the center of his administration, even at the expense of biological women and countless disgruntled voters. Why are he and so many other Democrats so dedicated to this issue?

At the same time, the size of the LGBTQ community at large is growing. The PRRI survey found that 24% of Gen Z Americans identify as LGBTQ. It is the same spirit propping up the small transgender population that is also recruiting children to join the LGBTQ community. As IFA CEO Dave Kubal wrote recently, America has become a grooming culture.

The solution is Christ. Let’s pray that our laws and leaders would align themselves with biblical truth, and that all those who identify as LGBTQ would find their identity in Christ!
