I Prayed have prayed
Lord, we pray for the nation of Israel. We pray that, as the war continues, the church in America would be a strong ally of Your people in the Middle East.

As the war between the IDF and Hamas in Gaza continues, how do America’s many Christians feel about the nation of Israel?

From All Israel News. The Messianic Jewish organization Chosen People Ministries released results of a survey conducted earlier this year that measured the impact of the Gaza War on Christian views of Israel and the Jews.

Let the IFA community know how to pray for you.

The survey was conducted between March 8-14, 2024 and included 2,033 self-identified Christian adults with a ±2.2 margin of error. Chosen People was a major sponsor of the study, along with the Alliance for the Peace of Jerusalem, and by Jews and Christians seeking a better understanding of the Israel-Hamas conflict and concerned with the rising tide of antisemitism today. …

The survey revealed that Evangelical Christians are more likely to support Israel rather than Palestinians in the current Gaza War, while support for Israel was less pronounced among Roman Catholic Christians.  …

Agreement with the statement, “God’s covenant with the Jewish people remains intact today,” was the greatest indicator of support for Israel among the various factors examined. There was a three-fold increase in support for Israel among respondents who agreed with that belief. Almost half (48%) of all respondents reported believing God’s covenant with the Jewish people remains intact today.

Approximately the same number (48%) said they believe “the Jewish people have the right to the land of Israel by the covenant God made with Abraham.” …

The survey showed that respondents among the those aged 50 to 64 showed the most support for Israel, while respondents under age 30 were 47% less likely to support Israel compared to those over 65.

Some of the major findings of the survey were:

  • 87% of all respondents are concerned about antisemitism in America today, with only 12% not particularly worried by the current levels of antisemitism in the United States.
  • 48% of respondents believe it is “definitely” antisemitic to say Israel does not have the right to exist, and another 14% believe such views are “to some extent” …
  • 49% of respondents blame “mostly Hamas” for the current war; only 8% ascribe blame to “mostly Israel;” 39% blame “both sides equally;” and 4% blame “someone else.” …

Dr. Inbari and Dr. Bumin found that mainline Protestant clergy are increasingly becoming pro-Palestinian and supporting progressive values, while their congregants may not be. …

It seems there is an abundance of Scriptural ignorance. By that I mean people read doctored Scripture or take the word of the speaker. Galatians 3:29 settles our position toward Israel.
The question, then, is whether the sleeping church is blessing or cursing Israel by their acting very corruptly against God and thinking that the Church (Messianic Congregation) owes nothing to Israel.
Father, forgive us. Revive us. Reignite the flame for Israel within the Church.

The point in the article that distresses me the most is the closing statement: “Mainline Protestant clergy are becoming pro-Palestinian and supporting progressive values, while their congregants may not be ”
This doesn’t surprise me because the evidence has been growing. People see no reason to go to church that is under a leader who is following the progressive influences that have come over our country..
Lord, strengthen those pastors who are truly following your teachings and touch the hearts of those who have strayed. And raise new young leaders who truly love You and will follow You always.

“Thus says the Lord,
Who gives the sun for a light by day,
The ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night,
Who disturbs the sea,
And its waves roar
(The Lord of hosts is His name):

36 “If those ordinances depart
From before Me, says the Lord,
Then the seed of Israel shall also cease
From being a nation before Me forever.” Jeremiah 31:
Thank you Lord that Your Word is faithful and true.

First, let me say that I am surprised and appalled by these findings. We Christians have been grafted into God’s covenant with Abraham and the Jewish people, it is only because of them that we exist as God’s chosen ones.
Father God, please forgive us for our attitude toward your people Israel. Pour out the gift of repentance on all peoples. Father change our hearts that we would love them and support them if, for no other reason than You chose them as yours and that they are “the apple of your eye.” You chose them to carry the knowledge of you to the world first by your most holy covenant, then You chose America, a Gentile nation to carry You to other nations as well as to our own. First to the Jew and then to the Gentile. We were grafted into the great vineyard of the Lord God Almighty. We are in our own covenant with You Lord. When You gave your life for the world You poured the covenant blood to seal the deal and now, Your Holy Spirit seals us as a people belonging to you. Your word says, “Those who bless you, I will bless, and those who curse you, I will curse.” Oh Father, forgive us. Stretch the hearts of all your people to love You and each other more. We bless Israel, Lord, with all that is within us we recognize your chosen ones by the Holy Spirit within. Holy Spirit wind blow, Change the hearts of those You have called according to your name and help us to see each other the way You do. Lord, I declare all peoples belong to you. I declare Almighty God is our creator, we were designed to house and carry Him. I declare heaven rejoices even now for those who will be added to her number in the great revival that is coming and already here. I declare the love of God will fill His people bringing rivers of living water to the world. All this, I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.
