God, we ask You to protect Israel. Let its people come to know You and rely on You for their protection, not the machines and codes of man.
Reading Time: 3 minutes

On Sunday, a Houthi missile hit Israel’s Ben-Gurion airport, injuring 6 people. The attack was unprecedented. Israel’s many defense systems, for a brief moment, failed. What does this mean for the nation, and how should we interpret this?

Meanwhile, Israel on Monday approved a new plan in its war against Hamas. The Jewish nation now plans to capture the entirety of the Gaza Strip. Plus, the situation with Iran is tense as always. With so much going on, we encourage intercessors to read this prophetic word shared with us by William Koenig, an expert on Israel and the Middle East.

Israel’s National Gateway Breached

Israel’s Ben-Gurion Airport has long stood as a symbol of national strength and resilience. Throughout the years, it has withstood relentless threats from Iranian missiles, Hezbollah barrages, Hamas rocket fire, and launches by the Houthis. Its survival has often been attributed to Israel’s superior missile defense systems — Iron Dome, David’s Sling, Arrow, and the U.S.-deployed THAAD. But for many, another shield has been equally responsible: the unseen hand of the God of Israel.

The Lifting of the God of Israel’s Protective Hand

What occurred on May 4, 2025, was unprecedented. For the first time in Israel’s history, a missile struck in the vicinity of Ben-Gurion Airport, evading both Israeli and U.S. defense systems. Though physical damage was limited and injuries were minor, the spiritual and prophetic implications were monumental.

This moment was more than a military lapse — it was a divine message. The God of Israel, who has faithfully shielded this vital gateway to the nation, lifted His protective hand for one brief but consequential moment.

A Prophetic Wake-Up Call

Just weeks earlier, on April 7, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the White House. There, under pressure from the Trump administration, he was urged not to proceed with a preemptive strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities. In that meeting, Netanyahu was informed that the United States intended to resume negotiations with Tehran — a stunning reversal of prior positions and a blow to Israel’s strategic posture.

President Trump assured that Iran would be held responsible for every missile the Houthis fired. And yet, today, one of those very missiles struck Israel’s most sensitive infrastructure — Ben-Gurion Airport.

Evading the World’s Best Missile Defense Systems

Israeli military sources have confirmed that the missile, launched by Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels, was a hypersonic ballistic weapon. It penetrated Israeli airspace and exploded near an access road to Ben-Gurion International Airport — despite the deployment of Israel’s Arrow and U.S. THAAD systems, which are specifically designed to intercept such threats.

The interception attempt failed due to a rare technical malfunction — an alarming anomaly given the systems’ combined 95% success rate.

A Game-Changer for the Middle East and Trump’s Role

This historic breach comes just days before President Trump is scheduled to visit Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates (May 13–16). It also follows announcements of a major Trump real estate development in Qatar and the promotion of the Trump cryptocurrency initiative — ā€œTrump Coinā€ — by Eric Trump at a financial forum in Abu Dhabi.

As President Trump and familyĀ continues to court deep investment ties in the Gulf, and as his Middle East envoy Steve Wikoff signals openness to Iranian engagement, today’s missile strike pierces more than Israeli airspace. It pierces assumptions about diplomacy, alliances, and divine favor.

Conclusion: When God Lifts His Hand

Israel’s trust must not rest in human alliances or technological marvels. As history has shown, when God’s protective hand is removed — even momentarily — the most sophisticated systems cannot defend what only the Almighty can secure.

Today’s strike is a wake-up call. A divine warning. A call to return to covenantal alignment — not only for Israel but for those who claim to stand with her. The shield that matters most is not made of iron or code — it is the sovereign hand of the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Heavenly Father, protect Your chosen people and may they look to You alone, first and foremost for protection and direction in what they should do. You have said You will bless those who bless Israel and curse those who harm Israel. I pray President Trump listens to You, Lord God, Your voice and not the voices and guidance of men. May Trump want to please You more than men, fear You more than men, and seek Your wisdom not man’s. Like King David may He prefer to fall into Your hands rather than man’s. I pray he humbles himself and has the courage to stand with Israel rather than the world. http://www.mtothe5th.wordpress.com

Amen! Praying for Israel
We are to pray and trust in God.
Pslam 20:7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.

We are to trust in God!

Isaiah 31:1 Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help
And rely on horses,
And trust in chariots because they are many
And in horsemen because they are very strong,
But they do not look to the Holy One of Israel, nor seek the Lord!

Father, thank You for protecting Israel. Thank You that You keep covenant with Your people. Thank You for Your Sovereign actions that should cause a nation, the people of Israel and their leaders, to turn their eyes toward You, put their trust in You and cry out to You. Move in the hearts and minds of the leaders of Israel, the military, etc, to look to You and You alone for what to do, for protection. Open their eyes to see Your hand in this particular situation and what to do next. We must not “shake hands” with enemies of Israel. Direct and protect as You always do. Let Thy Kingdom come and Thy will be done. Amen.

Yes – This got my attention! Thanks for bringing out the spiritual significance! Ran into a man who asked me where I got my pin from US Israel and told him we were praying for his national, but should have been bolder asking him if he wanted some answers to questions he was asking God that are answered in Isaiah 53 & the New Testament.

Praying over the nation of Israel —

ā€œPsalms 121:4 (NKJV) Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep.ā€

Praying over the people of Israel —

ā€œEphesians 6:10-18 (NKJV) 10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual [hosts] of wickedness in the heavenly [places.] 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints– ā€œ

Lord, have mercy on Your people Israel!

I’m less excited about Trump’s rationale for the Middle East than I was when he recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capitol by moving the US Embassy there1-3 from TelAviv. Lord, please give POTUS better discernment on Genesis 12:1-3, and put it in his heart to stand with Israel regardless of DJT’s business endeavors.

Wow. I think this article was so well written. I appreciate the tone and the way such events are being reported and shared. Our God is mighty to save and it is our job to see the evil, but to be unwavering in the goodness and power and sovereignty of our King and Savior. This article inspires that faith stance in such times and in these tragic events in our world. I am grateful to be a subscriber to IFA and its truly Godly contributors.

Lord of Hosts, we thank You for any and all grace You willingly show Israel. As Your Word says, it’s not because they are great in number or have done anything to merit Your protection, but because of the love He has for you and His faithful covenant with Abraham. Please stop trusting in man or yourselves, but recognize and acknowledge the God You say you serve, is Jesus Christ! He is Lord of Heaven and earth and all authority has been given to Him. We pray for your protection but moreso for your national and individual salvation!

Iran will use the American diplomatic initiative to forestall Israel , but eventually with or without President Trumps blessing, Israel will launch the overdue attack.

The Church of Jesus Christ, our Yeshuah HaMashiach, must stand and fight for our beloved Israel, regardless!
I unite my faith and prayers with intercessors across the globe for the peace, safety, and continued favor of God and man upon Israel. May the government, military, and people of Israel come to know their Messiah personally, and put their trust in His mighty power alone to save them from their enemies. Send revival fire to your people, oh Lord! šŸ”„
No weapon formed your people and your land will be able to prosper in Yeshuah’s mighty name. Amen!
