As we approach the landmark Supreme Court case, Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health, we can thank God for the Mississippi state and local leaders who have been among the Champions for Life that contributed to make this historic moment possible.  The oral arguments that could overturn Roe v. Wade would not be possible without the courage of pro-life leaders, many of whom we will recognize on November 30th, one block from the Supreme Court during the Appealing for Life Night of Recognition and Intercession.

These 4 Champions for Life from Mississippi are among many in Mississippi and include United States Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith, Governor Phil Bryant, Attorney General Lynn Fitch and State Representative Becky Currie. What is notable is that three of these champions are strong women who are pushing back against the radical left narrative that abortion is a women’s health issue. In addition, for the first time a pro-life woman, is among the nine Justices on the Supreme Court!

Rep Currie, a member of the Mississippi House of Representatives, who served as the author of State House Bill 1510, the “Gestational Age Act”, which created a direct challenge to Roe v. Wade by challenging the viability standard established by the Supreme Court and pushing back Mississippi’s current abortion ban by 5 weeks. The bill prohibits abortions after 15 weeks except when there are risks to the life or physical health of the mother, or fatal fetal anomalies.

Attorney General Lynn Fitch offered the Amicus Brief on behalf of the Petitioners in which she stated, “Roe and Casey are thus at odds with the straight-forward, constitutionally grounded answer to the question presented. So, the question becomes whether this Court should overrule those decisions. It should. The stare decisis case for overruling Roe and Casey is overwhelming. Roe and Casey are egregiously wrong.”

Governor Phil Bryant is making no secret to the fact that his rationale for signing this Mississippi bill into law was to overturn Roe v. Wade. He believes the question of when life should be protected, is a state’s rights issue and a child’s life in the womb should be protected!

U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith is the first woman elected to the U.S. Senate from Mississippi. She will serve as Master of Ceremonies for the IFA Night of Recognition and Intercession.

Senator Hyde-Smith was initially appointed by Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant in April 2018. Throughout her career she has demonstrated her commitment to supporting policies and legislation to protect the lives of unborn children. In July of this year, Senator Hyde-Smith added her name along with 228 GOP lawmakers urging SCOTUS to overturn Roe v. Wade. “In taking Mississippi’s pro-life law, the Supreme Court has a chance to reconsider the current misguided abortion jurisprudence, as a Senator, as a woman, and as a mother, I think this case offers us a chance to overturn roe and return the abortion issue to the political process and away from activist judges,” stated Sen. Hyde-Smith.

The Senator also introduced legislation to protect the lives of women by controlling the distribution of chemical abortion drugs, which have high complication rates for incomplete abortions, infections, severe bleeding, and death. She has voted for the Rand Paul Amendment to defund Planned Parenthood, the nation’s abortion giant, on August 23, 2018.  She signed onto a letter urging the Administration to issue new prolife regulation surrounding the Title X family planning program and signed onto a letter urging the Administration to reverse Obama-era policy by requiring separate billing and payment for abortion coverage in Obamacare exchange plans

Senator Hyde-Smith introduced this year the Woman’s Right to Know Act. “Any medical decision, let alone a life-and-death decision, must be an informed one,” Hyde-Smith said. “This legislation would ensure physicians make expectant mothers aware of all medical risks associated with abortion. This is a sensible and basic safeguard to protect both the life of the mother and the child.”

Dear Heavenly Father, You say, don’t be afraid, I have redeemed you; I’m calling you by your name; you are Mine. When you pass through rivers, they will not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire, you will not be scorched; the flame will not burn you. I regard you as valued and honored and I love you. I have chosen you; you know Me and trust Me. You understand that I AM HE, no god was before Me and none will be after Me. Even from eternity I am He, and none can deliver out of My hand. WHEN I ACT, WHO CAN REVERSE IT? I am ADONAI. I am doing something new, you see it! I am the One who blots out your offenses for My Own sake. I will not remember your sins. I will pour My Spirit on your descendants, My blessing on your offspring. I formed you, you will never forget Me.
Lord, I thank You for U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith, Governor Phil Bryant, AG Lynn Fitch and State Rep. Becky Currie. I also thank You for the countless unnamed individuals who are also working tirelessly to save babies. I humbly ask that You bless them out of Your abundance for their work of faith, their labor of love, and their enduring hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. I ask this for Your Glory. I love You Father, I love You Jesus. I love you Holy Spirit. Amen

Personalized from Isaiah 43, 44,
1 Thessalonians 1:2-3 We always thank God for all of you, remembering you in our prayers and continually recalling before our God and Father your work of faith, your labor of love, and your enduring hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

As a supporter of pro-life issues I had some caps made over a year ago that read roe v wade in upside down lettering. Meaning overturn roe v wade. I had dreams of having to order more as I gave them away to fellow supporters. I wear them to work , Walmart, grocery store, Facebook and to sporting events. To my dismay I hv only had 2 people accept a cap. I even had a pastor suggest they were not a good idea!! So my point of this example of apathy is this.
We are witnessing a powerful move of GOD!!!!! Our prayers are being heard and action is taking place after all these years. The Holy Spirit is moving upon the hearts of our Lawmakers in various state’s to put an end to abortion…Hallelujah! praise God !

I LOVE your upside down Roe (overturn Roe) idea, Bob! I think the caps are a very clever way to reach others about this most important of issues. The Bible tells us the Lord blesses us with “witty inventions.”

I believe you have been blessed.

And I applaud your courage in wearing “your heart on your sleeve” everywhere you go.

Praying in agreement with you; hallelujah! Praise God! In Jesus’ mighty name!

      Forgot to add . . .

“I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.” ~ Proverbs 8:12

Absolutely, – ,and Amen. I agree on the issue of apathy,- and unfortunately this in within the ranks of our own brothers and sisters.. It is fear-based we have become so indoctrinated in the gospel of not hurting anybody’s feelings- that it has grown. into a weakness.. in the church.
Yes great job on the on the baseball caps and what a good idea for the upside down slogan. Even more interesting in my thinking is that I have seen those caps online- -, let’s see where could it have been.. I can’t think of all the different places I visited online now ..all conservative voices- different programs and different platforms- anyways..you have my support, spiritually.

Over the years I have heard quite a few Christian voices, pastors, – -saying how fortunate we are- to be in these times -, and I’ve always been thinking “yeah if we survive without getting killed”..☺.. but now – , with this case on December 1st , – -we may see , as we know.. one of the most incredible moves of God overturning the greatest spiritual battle, maybe ever-and this really amazes me, and now I finally see what the purpose of all those comments were- all those years.
