On Wednesday, Border Czar Tom Homan announced that 700 federal law enforcement agents are leaving Minnesota, citing increased cooperation between ICE and local law enforcement.

The reduction was made possible due to the “unprecedented cooperation” with local counties on honoring Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detainers on illegal immigrant prisoners, Homan said at a press conference in Minneapolis. ICE detainers ask jails to notify federal authorities before an illegal immigrant prisoner is to be released, so federal agents can detain them for removal.
“This is smarter enforcement, not less,” Homan said.

The Trump administration’s goal is to end the surge of federal agents in the city, Homan said. But this will depend on continued cooperation with local authorities, and a decrease in attacks and hateful rhetoric against ICE and border patrol agents, he added.
According to The Hill, 2,000 federal law enforcement officers remain in the state. The Trump administration’s goal is to bring staffing down to the level it was at before Operation Metro Surge began. This would leave Minnesota with 150 federal officers.
Homan also called on protestors to stop impeding law enforcement operations. While he acknowledged that “everyone has a constitutional right to peacefully protest,” he also stressed that “professional law enforcement officers should and need to be able to perform their sworn duties without being harassed, impeded, or assaulted.” The border czar added that, of the 700 officers that left Minnesota, the administration did not draw down on personnel providing security for immigration enforcement.
This move comes as ICE has faced increased scrutiny following the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti. The Times notes that lawmakers on Capitol Hill are currently debating continued funding for DHS, with Senate Democrats demanding changes and more accountability as a condition for voting. President Trump even acknowledged a need for change, admitting on NBC Nightly News that ICE could use a “softer touch.”
Attacks against federal law enforcement are continuing, but it seems that the Trump administration may have finally reached a compromise with Minnesota’s and Minneapolis’ leaders. Let’s pray that Minnesota and states like it would support law and order and work with ICE officers, not against them!

Father, I likewise pray that ICE and enforcement officers in various states will work together and no lives be lost. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
Are local and state law enforcement in Minnesota really going to help protect ICE? A drawdown would be more palatable once they have shown us they are indeed physically helping. Letting ICE know they are releasing criminals begs the question, why are they releasing criminals anyway? Why doesn’t ICE just go to jails and pick them up for deportation while they are still incarcerated? Don’t make deals with Minnesota and don’t make deals with the devil. You can’t trust either of them.
I agree with this 100 percent. I live in Minnesota and I am most concerned with the criminals on the street that could harm innocent citizens like me! This needs to be fixed… it’s so frustrating to live in a state that protects criminals instead of law abiding citizens. Trump, please don’t give up on our state!

I don’t trust democrats. Lying comes naturally to them. As for Good and Pretti they made a bad choice and maybe they got paid to riot. Their actions were not peaceful protest. I consider peaceful protest no yelling, throwing thongs, blocking roads, preventing law enforcement from enforcing laws passed by congress, etc. As for President Trump’s comment “softer touch” the democrats hear it is ok for ICE agents to be attacked physically and killed and that would include the families of those agents. The democrats are possessed that is why I call them demoncrats and pray that Jesus free them from those demons. I pray that Jesus take care of this evil. 🙏😇🙏❤️

What guarantee are they making? It seems like weak promises to me. I see this is as a retreat and not an advance. These radical Islamists are marching ahead with their agendas, we can’t get them out of our country fast enough! We need a better strategy (as in Military) to sweep the area clear of demonstrators. And then come in afterwards and clear the areas of hostiles. I pray President Trump would put together a Military Officers strategy team in place to really work out the necessary logistics to get control over the “Sanctuary Cities” that he has already declared unlawful, and call these Mayors and Governors to a accountability for all of their complicity with the illegals. I saw a report earlier that Minneapolis police were clearing away what protestors had put up to block ICE. it was an encouraging sight.

The rioters belong in jail. Most likely the rioters are paid by Soros and other billionaires so big fines are also appropriate. The longer the rioters are jailed, the more time they are off the streets rioting and disturbing the peace. Don Lemon needs a big fine and a year in jail, with the proceeds of the fine going to the church whose services he disrupted.

I believe if local law enforcement does their job of turning over those here illegally, all should go well.
However, if they interfere, or neglect their duties, our administration has every right to use federal agents to do the job.
This admimstration must also do a better job of helping people understand that ICE was created by President Obama, and his intent was to have a force ready to arrest American citizens who refused to go along with the elitists’ one world government agenda.
His and Biden’s open border policies were designed to weaken the U.S., and to allow Muslims, human/drug traffickers, and cartel members to freely enter.
These elitists do not want a strong America, which is why they hate conservatives so much, and why they use our political system to achieve their goals.
Much like mobsters, they make their money by making deals with criminals, especially via the by products of human trafficking, which are pornpgraphy and forced prostitution.

It is my thought that the Minnesota government leaders are wanting to disrupt the ICE agenda in whatever way they can. I hope I am wrong, but so far the actions the governor and mayor and state AG have been counter productive in removing illegal criminal immigrants.

ICE agents are human and are just doing their job to promote peace at whatever border is a problem. Sure, they are apt to make mistakes, but sadly this is typical in being human.
I hope that Minneapolis Police truly do help ice and not just be one studded. We need to enforce justice & arrest criminals & make city safe.

There is so much that goes on in those peak times of ‘peaceful protest’ that is unknown to people watching the scene unfold; actions and reactions compound based on each person’s experiences. What we see after the fact is compounded by thoughts, feelings and actions of the people reporting what they saw. Our and their greatest weapon is Holy Spirit and the angels being released through prayer for protection, provision and ultimately truth to be seen and heard. We must keep praying, covering ICE and protesters in prayer; trusting Jesus to continue to reveal truth, and open blinded eyes on both sides of the aisle. Jesus, thank you for working in this and many other situations, bringing beauty from ashes, truth from lies. Help us all to keep our eyes on you, pray for these situations but not be distracted by them, in Jesus’ name….
I can only pray that this works our satisfactorily, and that ICE is able to do their job, without any interference of these “protestors”. I hope that this move by Thomas Homan and President Trump will bring about a more positive level of coordination of the efforts of ICE and the local law enforcement in Minneapolis, and all of Minnesota.

But there IS a justifiable need. Protect the good people from dangerous illegal’s that the state is refusing to deal with. Waltz must be held accountable.

While it is definitely difficult for me to have compassion for Muslims, I realize that it is all in God’s hands. We see the most tyrannical Islamic country, Iran, turning away from Islam. Many are seeking Christ. This should offer encouragement to all of us. I pray that God will sweep the nations with the spiritual uplifting.

I wish! But Minnesota is a bastion of leftism mostly because of the Twin Cities and some of the outlying suburbs. The people who live here have been absolutely brainwashed by leftist propaganda, and it is also baked into the way the state works as back in the mid to late 1800s after the state was founded, lots of the people who came here were Scandinavian or German immigrants who had very, very “progressive” political ideologies, and that hasn’t now, and likely never will change. Minnesota is a lost cause. Minnesota is now the worst state in the whole country. Take it from me. I have lived here my whole life. We used to be sane, but, that sanity went out the window, 20 years ago.
