(The Center Square) – Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and the Trump administration remain at odds as Border Czar Tom Homan reiterated President Donald Trump’s commitment to removing criminals from the street.
Pray for your fellow intercessor.
While Homan and Frey described their initial meeting Tuesday as productive, the two leaders aren’t in agreement over Operation Metro Surge, as Frey underscored his desire for the operation “to end as quickly as possible.”
In a social media post Tuesday night, Frey reiterated the city’s commitment to sanctuary policies, indicating his unwillingness to cooperate with federal immigration officials.
“I also made it clear that Minneapolis does not and will not enforce federal immigration laws, and that we will remain focused on keeping our neighbors and streets safe,” Frey posted on X.
However, he concluded his post by leaving the door open, saying that he and city leaders “will continue to stay in conversation” with Homan.
Meanwhile, Homan took a more diplomatic approach in his response to meetings with Minnesota and Minneapolis officials, saying they all agreed on supporting law enforcement while “getting criminals off the street.”
“While we don’t agree on everything, these meetings were a productive starting point and I look forward to more conversations with key stakeholders in the days ahead. President Trump has been clear: he wants American cities to be safe and secure for law-abiding residents – and they will be,” Homan posted on X.
After the meetings, the Department of Homeland Security appears not to be backing down from Operation Metro Surge, posting a message saying they are “putting Minnesotans FIRST and getting violent criminals” out of communities.
DHS included a series of social media posts highlighting criminal aliens recently arrested in Minnesota.
The talks come amid rising tensions between the Trump administration and Democratic leaders in the state following the recent deaths of two demonstrators involving immigration officials.
While the White House appears to want to tone down the temperature by engaging Minnesota Democratic leaders, it is not backing down from the demands it has made clear to Gov. Tim Walz and Frey.
While House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt made it clear during a White House briefing on Monday that the administration has set a list of demands for the Democratic leaders to “turn over all criminal illegal aliens currently incarcerated in their prisons and jails,” in addition to “any illegal aliens with active warrants or known criminal history of immediate deportation.”
The second demand is that local and state law enforcement “must agree to turn over all illegal aliens who are arrested by local police.” The third calls on local law enforcement to assist federal authorities in “apprehending and detaining illegal aliens who are wanted for crimes.”
“If Governor [Tim] Walz and Mayor Frey implement these commonsense cooperative measures that I would add have already been implemented in nearly every single other state across the country, Customs and Border Patrol will not be needed to support ICE on the ground in Minnesota. Ice and local law enforcement can peacefully work together, as they are effectively doing in so many other states and jurisdictions,” Leavitt said during the briefing.

Father, I lift up Minneapolis and Minnesota. Bring peace there. Stop the violence that has been implemented to take eyes off the fraud. Give wisdom and protection to ICE agents and border patrol as they seek to carry out the government’s plan of getting rid of criminals. May the truth about the two protestors who were killed be completely revealed and not be hidden by the media. I pray for those in the media who will not speak the truth, that you would bring them to speak the truth and not tell lies. I praise you for you are working in our nation. May many who are walking in fear at the shaking all around them turn to you and become part of your family.
I don’t understand how you think that Ice Agents are causing “terror” in our cities for doing their job! “Illegal” is a defining term for those who are being abducted. Why would we want these people in our country? This is a slap in the face to all of the immigrants that have come to America legally and with the intention to work, obey our laws and be of benefit to society. By entering our country illegally those people have forfeited their right to any “ rights”.
Under our Constitution you have the right to your opinion and beliefs, but they are void of any common sense.
I don’t know why these leaders aren’t taken from their positions. Fey makes the comment he wants IzCE to stop their abductions to keep their neighbors safe. If those being apprehended have criminal records – how can leaving them on our streets make their neighbors “safe”? This is an oxymoron. Where is common sense? These are reprobate minds.
Is there any legal way that all Paid protesters could be required to wear some identifying hat or something to help ICE/DEA know to handle them in a different manner. To save lives on both sides. Ice would know they are mere brain dead puppets with no real interest in honest “peaceful” protest.
In the 1960’s, law enforcement would surround protest mobs and bring in fleets of buses to haul all the mob participants to jail. This worked; streets and highways stayed open, property damage was minimal, and peaceful access to homes and businesses was restored because the trouble makers were hauled to jail. As for paid protestors, that is commercial activity and not free will; paid protestors need to be fined heavily and incarcerated to keep them off the streets. The financiers of paid protestors belong in jail also.

I offer a prayer for you in the name of Jesus that you come to know Jesus Christ as Redeemer, Savior and Lord and His eternal love for you. For everyone you mentioned above, I pray in the name of Jesus that the fear of the Lord comes upon them, and they hear His voice and obey. I ask God to shine light on what has been hidden in Minnesota. And lastly, may God’s will be done in Minneapolis and all of Minnesota.

No one ever mentions the illegal and unconstitutional actions of the former administration that created all of these problems by opening our borders.
Since when can we pick and choose which laws we will follow and which we will “resist”? Our Immigration Laws were passed and approved by Congress and the President. If you don’t like the laws, get them changed. Stop resisting those brave men and women who are commissioned to enforce our laws!! If you viollently confront and attach law enforcement, don’t be surprised and if get there is resistance!!
I am still in shock that President Trump has not invoked the Insurrection Act, and sent federal troops into Minneapolis to back up the ICE agents. not doing so is setting a dangerous precedent for other liberals to act in a similar fashion .Federal law MUST override state and local law. These liberal leaders in Minnesota need to see that the Federal government is not going to play their games, period. While it was nice that Tom Homan went to Minneapolis, and President Trump reached out to Tim Walz, ultimately, the Federal government needs to flex its muscles, and bring an end to these “sanctuary cities and states”. I find it very interesting that ICE agents are carrying out their duties in Republican, conservative states, such as Texas and Florida, without any retaliation or disruption by “protestors”. Lord Jesus, by Your grace, please make a way where there would seem to be no way in this crazy situation in Minnesota. Thank you Jesus.

My personal belief is that he is walking a very fine line regarding Civil War. My prayer is for him to walk that line as directed by the Holy Spirit that he may get to the other side safely and with our nation, intact, in the name of Jesus.

What would it be like if the paid protesters weren’t harassing & instigating the ICE agents? They are only there to harass them to the point of a confrontation. Understand and pray against the evil behind that! They are human just like us, enforcing the law in the books to remove illegals, and want to go back home to their loved ones. First, we pray that as it is in heaven, so let it be in Minneapolis. There is no lawlessness in heaven, and we pray for it about face. And the leadership of both Minnesota and Minneapolis.
The people of Minneapolis and Minnesota are crying out for righteousness. What President Trump and his administration are asking for is totally constitutional and legal. They are on solid ground.
The death that occurred the tragic, were not a surprise when we see that these two people were resisting the law, agitating, obstructing, law, officers, and at least one with a clear intent to kill.

We pray that the mayor of Minneapolis would be visited by God‘s angels and the fear of the Lord would come up on him, and he would know me on the shadow of a doubt that there is a God in heaven, and that he would be awakened to righteousness, and let these criminals go voluntarily before anymore. Legal actions be taken against him.
We pray that all of the criminals and all illegals would be found in the most amazingly miraculous manner, and that order would return to this purging of criminal illegal aliens in Minnesota.
We bless the ice officers in their families for they are truly heroic and self-sacrificing Patriots who are deserving of honor and full cooperation.

I heard an ice officer’s voice (on well-versed last night) say that he wished the Christian church would be as passionate as these paid protesters are. They are out in sub zero freezing weather for hours protesting. They are in the wrong, but where is the church standing up for what is right? He then went on to say that of course they’re going to work and taking care of their kids and doing the things they need to do. But Lord help us to stand with those who are being persecuted wrongly.

I pray that ICE detaining Indigenous Native Americans stop! In the name of Jesus. I am Navajo Native American. Racial Profiling the targeting of individuals by law enforcement based on their race, ethnicity or national origin rather than an individual suspicion of criminal activity is generally considered unconstitutional in the U. S. It violates the 14th Amendment and the 4th Amendment’s protection against unreasonable searches and seizures. ICE under Kristi Noem has been disastrous because she doesn’t train ICE or Trump is behind all this Hatred towards Native Americans. We are not the illegal immigrants! God put indigenous people on this continent. God scattered people during the tower of Babel. I am Native American we have been here 1000s of years before the European invasion. I am not a Democrat or Republican because of the ungodliness and hate on both sides. God sees everything and the heart of men and women. I trust in God and will not bow to a president because God is in control not Trump or Pagan gods. I am not a traditional Native American as far as worship in idol worship. I trust in God. The two shootings of Renee Good and Mr. Pretti are being investigated just like every other law enforcement involved shooting in America. Who are all of these other people “killed” by ICE? I am not sure where you are getting the information about native Americans being targeted and arrested but ICE is going after illegal criminals that invaded the country. They are arresting illegal aliens who have been charged with terrible crimes against American citizens who are black, white, native or whatever type American citizen they are. I pray that God will give you eyes to see and ears to hear the truth 🙏 if what you say is true and you have seen this first hand then you need to report these actions to an independent journalist to get this truth out. What about the over 50 Americans murdered by illegal migrants? They range in age from 7 years old and on. How do those souls not matter. Laken Riley, a young student nurse was battered so badly as to be unrecognizable and raped and murdered at the hands of an illegal! Is that who you are protecting, criminals?????????
