I Prayed have prayed
Father God, thank you for this man of faith who is standing for the protection of life. Thank you for his faithfulness to sign the original law in Mississippi, that has become the Supreme Court case with nationwide impact--potentially with the ability to release the stranglehold of abortion on our nation. Lord, bless this man for his heart for the unborn!

At the heart of the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Supreme Court case is the original Mississippi law that has caused a firestorm of judicial wrangling. Who signed that original law? Governor Phil Bryant, who was Mississippi governor at the time. Hear about the origins of this case, the inside track on its rise to the Supreme Court, and how we can be praying, as Dave Kubal, IFA CEO and President interviews Bryant on the Pray With America’s Leaders webcast today at 12:15pm ET.

Governor Bryant has been a staunch protector of life, stating that he wanted the state of Mississippi to be the “safest place for an unborn child.”

“I am very pro-life, always have been,” the governor said. “We will all answer to the good Lord one day,” Bryant continued. “I will say in this instance, ‘I fought for the lives of innocent babies, even under the threat of legal action.”

The Dobbs case originates with the law passed by Governor Bryant called The Gestational Age Act in 2018,   which bans most abortions after 15 weeks. The law was challenged by Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the only licensed abortion provider in the state. The case was elevated to the Supreme Court. which became what we know as Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health.

Does the case have that much of an impact on abortion in America?

“If they uphold Mississippi’s law,” Elizabeth Sepper, a professor at the University of Texas School of Law says, “they will have effectively reversed Roe v. Wade, even if they don’t say the words.”

“We will all answer to the good Lord one day,” Bryant responded. “I will say in this instance, ‘I fought for the lives of innocent babies, even under the threat of legal action.”

Governor Bryant will be joining IFA intercessors and special guests to receive IFA’s Champions for Life award at the Appealing for Life Recognition and Intercession Dinner on November 30th in Washington, D.C., on the eve of the Supreme Court oral arguments.

Join us today to pray for and with Governor Bryant, a true champion for life!
