The “my body, my choice” argument falls apart when facing the Bible, in which God says that nothing is truly ours. As intercessors, we need to know what the Bible says about these issues.
From Movieguide. Pastor and author Francis Chan, known for his book “Living Crazy Love,” recently condemned the famous pro-choice mantra, “my body, my choice.”
Post a prayer for your state!
Chan noted that the words neglect the biblical teaching that “God says nothing is yours….”
“Could it be that God is saying, ‘Look at this generation, … look at these people, they’re not going to back off from the Word of God, they actually believe in a judgment day, they’re willing to preach that, they’re actually willing to speak for the voices of the unborn, they’re not backing off from that?’” Chan said.
“For any of us who think that we can come into the presence of God and say, ‘God, why did you make me this way? Why did I go through this? This is my body, my choice.’ God says: ‘No, wait a second. No. Nothing is yours. I spoke this world into existence.’ The world is the Lord’s and everything in it. It’s all made by Him. And He doesn’t owe me an explanation,” he added….

As a woman, mom, RN and yes, disciple of Messiah Jesus I am more than sad at the way ‘my body, my choice’ leads people astray. More on this in a moment.
And while I do agree with what my brother Francis is trying to say, that God made everything, and everything, including my body, all our bodies, is/are His, for His pleasure…I think he, Chan, is missing the love that is needed by those using this argument.
‘My body’ Is a precious gift from the Maker of us all. Chan and all those angry, misguided people in the ‘my body’ movement do, I think, agree on this fact. And He, Most High God, does give us choice, just like He gave Israel so long ago, ‘ chose, life or death.’
As an RN, over the past 40+ years, I have come to see every choice is either for life or death. …
and way too often we humans choose death without a thought to the short or long term consequences. I mean, the suffering, all the ‘little’ deaths along the way, to the ‘Big one’ that brings us to our Maker, to give account.
I would say to ‘my body…’ people, we are saying each person needs to start asking ‘should we’ before we go demanding ‘could we’. Choice to kill another human, wherever they live, stops at the life of ‘other’.
So killing a child which is what abortion is, involves mom and dad, his DNA is ‘represented’ in that teeny, tiny person growing inside the mom’s body.
So both have freedom, liberty, to chose.
I pray they each chose responsible! Wise! Good! And courageous! LIFE!
In this world one needs courage to be kind and brave. Parents need to be both kind and brave!!!
As an RN I know we have come a very long way medically to make early pregnancy elective abortion much safer for moms and frankly, I praise God for His mercy there.
But we are ‘reaping the real whirlwind’ of legalizing abortion, gone from ‘protecting’ desperate women from ‘back alley abortions’, which no one wants to see come back, to laws ALLOWING people to kill babies, up to 28 days old, and make no mistake, foot dragging, profit loving lawmakers and some special interest groups blind to the epidemic of gun violence which has been stealing the lives AND peace of our children for decades now….they are the slippery slope of the same stupid, logical consequence of ‘choice’ for death.
May God forgive us, cleanse us of the evil of our horrific choices as a nation and hear our cry to heal our land. Glory to you Jesus!
These people’s eye’s are blind to the fact that there is only one creator and HE doesn’t make mistakes. He created this world and especially the water not to overflow on the banks of the beach’s it stop just where God told it to stop and no further , YES, we were all blind at one time but this doesn’t mean we have to stay that way…Wake up everybody time to see the truth and the truth is the light…..Your body is not your own……Period. It was bought with a price the Blood of Jesus, and we will give an account one day…..to HIM.
It’s completely wrong! We’re all created by God for His purpose! God, please open the eyes of the spiritually blind, unstop their deaf ears & give them a heart to understand Your truth.
The Gospel of John says you shall know the truth & the truth shall set you free.
Years ago a couple of people I loved very much who were believers but had fallen for that lie mentioned that very lie in their argument for “pro choice”. Shocked by this admission, I was taken aback momentarily but the Lord put the “you are not your own” scripture on my heart to bring to their attention. They immediately repented and became “pro life” till the end of their days on earth! The scripture is:
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 NIV
19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
Isn’t it amazing “My body, My Choice “ was not allowed with the jab. Different rules 4 different people. Double Standard!!!
God word says. John 1: 1-4
1.”In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. ”
You own everything even our bodies. My prayer is that those who support abortion whether saved or not must come to the realization that you Father God, is the author of life. In Jesus name.
Father, I have been through several and various hardships. Some were of my own making. Some were caused by other people’s choices. Some were because of how You formed me in the womb. Through these trials, I learned it was ok to ask You why these things happened, or why You made me the way You did (barren). It’s at the cross I lay my burdens down. You meet me there, comfort me in the sorrows life brings, get me back up on my feet, and lead me afresh. Thank You that I can come to You and show You the deepest agonies of my heart. It is here that I find comfort, forgiveness, acceptance, and continue my journey toward my eternal home. Amen.

Even from a strictly Secular point of view, their argument of “my body, my choice” falls apart.
If a woman is pregnant, she is not carrying her own body inside of her. She is carrying a different body.
If she is carrying a different body, it cannot be, by definition, “her body her choice.“
Since the baby she is carrying is a different body, then the baby would also have the same right as her in regard to “my body, my choice.” She does not have the right to take away her baby’s right to chose…
So God’s truth once again is all truth – even if you look at it from a secular point of view.
Sometimes we just need to use their own words to point out the logical flaws in their argument!
Jesus said “this is My Body given for you”. He had His Body experience the wrath of God, so we can have life. His was totally unselfish compared to the totally selfish statement of “body my my choice” to bring forth death on the most innocent life.
That argument, the “me-centered” argument, can be used (and has been used) to further an evil agenda of focusing on self instead of neighbor. They will use this argument to say that whatever feels good in the moment to one’s body is ok to do, even if it infringes on the well-being of another – I mean, if you can infringe on the right to life of the most innocent and vulnerable of us, a baby, then how much further to stretch such an evil mindset to include child molestation because you were born attracted to children in this vile way, but you are living your truth and that is what your body wants, and it’s your body so it should be your choice, right? This mindset will be perverted in so many ways, as it already is. Our children are the one’s suffering from all of these delusions, half-truths and outright lies. We have to push back with the Truth and Love, because all of the hate breeds more hate. Hate is of the world, Truth and Love originate in God alone. Stop cursing the darkness and focus on lighting candles of salvation in others (paraphrasing Mother Teresa) because by our love do we win people back to Jesus and His Truth.
Father, we say amen. May we hold true to your word and find our satisfaction in you. We pray you would end this argument. May those who think this way turn to you as their Lord, acknowledging you as their creator! Turn hearts to you Lord and protect our children, born and unborn! Thank you Jesus.
Paul wrote in Romans 12:1 a plea: “And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.”
We give our bodies to God, as believers, because of ALL that He has done for us.

Dear Abba Father, everything in creation was made by You and for You. Just as You said on the first day, would You again proclaim in the hearts of the heartless, “let there be light?” Would You have the misguided understand they are fearfully and wonderfully made by You, The Creator God? They do not understand because the evil one has blinded them but You can remove the scales. You can heal them. You can love them into submission. You can turn their hearts of stone to flesh. I ask that You would exceed my prayer as I pray in the Precious Name of Jesus Christ, the Firstborn over ALL creation. HE IS Your Only Begotten Son and our Messiah from the womb. Amen

I agree with Mr. Chan. Revelation tells us we were created for His glory, not our own. Another part of this is that the baby inside a woman is a separate person, not part of the mother’s body. So it is not a case of “my body” anyway. A group of us intercessors in Peoria, IL, went to Betty Friedan’s childhood home area and repented for her coming up with this slogan and leading the nation down this evil path. We asked God’s forgiveness and for a cleansing by the blood from this wrong thinking. Father, make us know Truth in our innermost being!
