I Prayed have prayed
Reading Time: 2 minutes

In a recent conversation with the Lord, I asked Him, “Do I worry too much?”
He smiled and said, “No. You CARRY too much.”
I asked Him what the difference was. He said,

“Worry is a state of the heart. It is allowing Fear to lead you instead of Faith.
It comes out of your need to fix things and be in control, and it holds you back in the race when you keep analyzing every detail.”

“Carrying things is a matter of boundaries and knowing what to hold onto and what to let go of.
It’s not a matter of HOW you perceive challenges, but HOW MANY you hold in your heart.
Your sense of responsibility is what drives you to carry too much and it slows you down.”

“What difference does it make,?” I ask.

“I want you to RUN WITH ME!
But, you must be free of Worry and cannot be carrying too much if we are to make progress on the journey.
I have often conquered Worry by blindfolding you! Sometimes that’s the only way your trust in Me could be built.”

“Now, look at what you carry in your heart. Consider the pace your load requires. Is your heart free to follow Me, or are your hands so full of responsibilities, you have to keep stopping to keep them from dropping?”

“You will know you are walking in My Grace when you can run freely and unhindered by either Worry or a Load of self-appointed responsibilities. We have much to do! I want to take your hand and break through the pressing issues of life that hold you back so we can get on with your assignment!

“Worry may not be your enemy in this hour, but bearing burdens I never gave you, can be.”

_________

Father, forgive me for taking on things You never intended me to. Forgive me for assuming responsibility for people or situations that You never called me to. Clear my head and cleanse my heart so that I can rightly hear Your voice and carry only that which Your grace has empowered me to carry. Thank You for taking my hand and leading me in Your paths of truth, righteousness, and freedom. May I learn how to run unhindered in this race so that I might finish well – for Your glory, alone! Amen.

This is so timely, something that the has been highlighted in my life over the past 6 mos. He gives us the grace to do what He asks us to do.
We need wisdom to know when we are in danger of using our God appointed resources, time energy money for those things which although could be good may in fact cause us to abuse them and deplete us and distract us. The Enemy has ways to make us feel guilty for not …. however we are called to be wise and ask for wisdom where we lack. He has given us everything pertaining to life and godliness through Christ Jesus.
Guilt trips and shoulda’s and oughta’s are not part of the Holy Spirit’s work in our lives. He has not given us a Spirit of Fear but Love, Power, AND a sound mind!!

It is so true, when we are so focused on solving problems instead of taking them to Jesus to see what He would do, then we are distracted from the very thing He has called us. Through surrendering all to a Good God, we see Him work and can follow.

Yes, Heavenly Father, may I pause and seek your wisdom prior to self appointing responsibilities. Open my eyes to live available for You; with margins so I may hear You and immediately obey.
