Father, we lift this issue up before You, praying that we would once again be a nation that values life and cherishes children.

As our culture continues to glorify convenience and personal choice at the expense of life and the next generation, America’s fertility rate will only continue to fall. While the media focuses on the more partisan political issues, it’s important that we don’t forget this ever present, underlying threat to our nation.

From Washington Examiner. The fertility rate in the United States has dropped to its lowest level in nearly a century as fewer and fewer women are giving birth.

Provisional data published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Thursday show that the total fertility rate fell to 1.62 births per woman in 2023, a 2% decline from 2022 and the lowest rate since the government began recording the metric in the 1930s. …

The decline is reflective of a growing trend of women delaying or forgoing having children in part due to economic and social challenges.

Although there are multiple contributing factors, the growing female participation rate in the workforce and increasing access to contraception are two significant influences on women delaying childbearing. …

Population data scientists identify a total fertility rate of 2.1 births per woman as the “replacement rate.” When the fertility rate drops below 2.1, demographers grow concerned that, over time, the overall population will grow older and shrink. …

Fathers need to get involved with, and take an interest in, their children. Father’s Day. Father’s Blessings on their children. Fathers are important in their children’s lives. There’s way too much emphasis put on mothers. Good fathers are the foundation of their children’s lives.

Heavenly Father, please remind us of the three verses written in Psalm 127: 3-5 (NCV) that proclaimed: “Children are a gift from the Lord; babies are a reward. Children who are born to a young man are like arrows in the hand of a warrior. Happy is the man who has his bag full of arrows. They will not be defeated when they fight their enemies at the city gate.” In Christ Jesus’ mighty and holy Name, and by His authority, I pray. Amen.

Why are the 400,000 abortions never mentioned? This stat doesn’t indicate Live births.

When I see that the fertility rate falls to record lows, I can’t help but think about the verse in Hosea 9:14. Hosea prayed for mercy. Give them a few children so they will not have to face the horrors of judgment. He knew the evil that Israel had done and that God’s wrath was coming. Hosea’s plea for mercy in limiting the number of children reflects a deep understanding of the consequences of sin and the impending judgment. It serves as a reminder of the importance of repentance and seeking forgiveness to avoid facing the wrath of God.
