Late last week, the FBI arrested a woman who threatened to assassinate Tennessee Senator Marsha Blackburn earlier this year.

Who is praying on the wall?

From the Daily Wire:

The Justice Department accused Penelope Convertino, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, of leaving a voice mail message at Blackburn’s Nashville office threatening to shoot the senator on May 30. Convertino has been charged with making a threat to murder a federal official with the intent to impede, intimidate, and interfere.

“Our public officials should be able to do their jobs without receiving vile death threats,” said Acting United States Attorney for the Middle District of Tennessee. “Threatening public officials with deadly violence cannot and will not be tolerated. We will not hesitate to hold those who make these kinds of violent threats accountable for their crimes.”

According to the Justice Department, Convertino’s voice mail said: “My name is mother**ker and I’m gonna kill Marsha Blackburn. I’m gonna shoot her with a gun. I’m gonna blow up her head on national TV,” Convertino said, according to the Justice Department. “She will literally have brains splattered behind her because she will not be a person. She will be a dead f**king body.”

According to the Daily Wire, Covertino could face up to 10 years in prison if convicted, as well as a fine of up to $250,000.

These threats against Senator Blackburn come as the nation has seen an increase in assassination attempts and threats. A pro-abortion activist sought to kill Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh in 2022, a disgruntled young adult shot and killed a healthcare CEO last year, leftists called for the deaths of President Trump and Elon Musk, and, most notably, President Trump himself faced two attempts on his life in 2024.

These threats are hardly a rare occurrence these days, but we can always pray for that to change. Let’s ask God to intervene, to protect our elected officials, and to bring an end to the increased violence and disregard for human life in our nation!

Father, we come to you in the name of Jesus to protect those who serve and defend our country in Your name. We pray for this woman who is obviously Demon possessed. That her heart of stone would be freed by Your precious blood and she would be transformed. We pray for Your hedge of protection around Senator Marsha Blackburn. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen

Father, I pray for an end to the violence and threats. It is becoming so common now to do that. Move in people’s hearts with repentance and turning to you that they would see the evil in their lives. I pray for protection for those threatened and that those who threaten would be stopped and changed by your Holy Spirit. I praise your name.
