Representative James Comer, chairman of the House Oversight Committee, announced that the Department of Justice will begin handing over Epstein-related documents by the end of this week.

Comer shared the development one day before the deadline listed in the subpoena he issued to the DOJ.

“Officials with the Department of Justice have informed us that the Department will begin to provide Epstein-related records to the Oversight Committee this week on Friday,” Comer said in a statement.

“There are many records in DOJ’s custody, and it will take the Department time to produce all the records and ensure the identification of victims and any child sexual abuse material are redacted,” he added. “I appreciate the Trump Administration’s commitment to transparency and efforts to provide the American people with information about this matter.”

According to the Daily Wire, Representative Comer subpoenaed the DOJ on August 5. He also reportedly subpoenaed former President Bill Clinton, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Ghislaine Maxwell, and several ex-law enforcement leaders in search of Epstein-related testimony and information.

This comes as the Trump administration continues to navigate the fallout form the DOJ’s disastrous Epstein conclusion. In early July, the department announced that Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide, and that the fabled “Epstein files” never existed. The President’s followers largely didn’t buy it, and countless Americans have been calling for answers ever since.
