All over America, there is a great outpouring of prayer for the nation and for the elections. Believers are gathering together online and in corporate settings, fasting and praying for God’s intervention. “We need you, God,” they cry out with one voice. “Have mercy on our land! Don’t abandon us, Lord! Help, Father!”

Even in other countries, believers are fasting and praying for America right now. We stand at a pivotal time in our history, and as America goes, much of the world goes. . . .
Desperate prayer will be needed just as much the day after the elections as the day before the elections.
Desperate prayer will be needed in the months (and even years) following the elections just as much as in the months (and years) leading up to the elections.
Unless, of course, you think that there is a political solution to the many maladies that afflict us. Or that getting (or keeping) the right person in the White House will be some kind of cure all. Or that gaining (or regaining) the Senate or the House will stop the riots and unite the factions and quiet the unrest (and remove COVID too!). . . .
When it comes to the elections, I never pray for a specific candidate or party to win. Instead, I cast my vote and then I pray for God’s best, not pretending to know the mind of the Lord. He has purposes and plans in mind that are infinitely above ours. He is looking at eternal implications and considering multi-generational outcomes. Perhaps what looks like the worst result in the short term will produce the best result in the long term.
That’s why I pray for God’s will to be done rather than praying for the election of the candidates for whom I vote. This is also what I recommend to others, since, in this way, we can all pray together in unity: “Father, Your will be done!”
Otherwise, depending on our differing political convictions, one group will be praying for the election of Candidate A while the other group will be praying for the election of Candidate B. In effect, we will be praying, “Our will be done!” . . .
That being said, it would be a massive strategic mistake to let up in the intensity of our praying once the elections are settled.
Think about it for a moment.
Although I voted for Trump in 2016 and will vote for him on Tuesday, I must ask myself: Is America more divided today than it was four years ago? Are we in more national upheaval? More shaking? More in danger of tearing apart at the seams? The answers are obvious.
So, even with the man many of us voted for in the White House, and even with the many positive things that Trump has done for the nation – and I truly believe there are many – America is a mess.
Barring divine intervention, four more years of Trump will only lead to more polarizing and more upheaval, including the deepening radicalization of the left. (Again, I say this as someone who believes Trump is a far better alternative to Biden.)
And what if Joe Biden is elected, especially if he keeps his campaign promises and implements the Democratic Platform? The resentment of the right (and even resistance from the right) will only intensify. The pushback against increasing government overreach will be intense, as will be the reaction to the continued loss of our liberties.
Either way, no matter who wins the election, the polarizing will increase. The anger will rise. The factions will deepen. And the extremes will become more extreme.
That’s why we need to keep the pedal to the metal when it comes to desperate, sustained, fervent prayer. Only God can heal our wounds.

This article is DISTURBING as the author seems to not be able to discern that we now have in this country a political party of LIFE and the other political party celebrating DEATH and PERVERSION! It should be an easy choice to see which party represents the will of our Father!!! He cites the divisions and upheaval in our country since President Trump has been in …. just who do you think is CAUSING ALL THE UPHEAVAL AND DIVISION? The enemy of your soul is after President Trump 24/7! He is attempting to make everyone think that our president is the problem when it is actually very easy to see that satan is the true problem and his party of DEATH is his main tool, along with the lying evil media which is satan’s mouth. This man who wrote this article needs to ask the Lord to show him the true nature of each political party right now…and choose LIFE or choose DEATH.

The Lord is using our prayers and our confession and repentance on a corporate level as stated in 2 Chronicles 7:14 to move in the Second Heaven to dismantle the satanic scaffolding that has suffocated the Church especially in America, the spirits of Jezebel, Absalom, Ahab, Anti-Christ, etc. See Dr. Cindy Trimm’s Rules of Engagement for a complete list of the “weapons of mass destruction” and the demonic spirits. So the battle belongs to the LORD but David had to fight, Joshua had to fight, and THEN God gave the victory. We are to have no fellowship with the works of darkness, but rather be salt and light. The Corinthian church was to expel the sexually immoral brother by handing him over to Satan so that his sinful nature may be destroyed and his spirit saved on the day of the Lord. We are to have no fellowship with the works of darkness: abortion, perverted marriage, gender confusion, sexually deviant behavior, etc.
Because our wrath does not produce God’s righteousness, our actions should be marked by a holy love that “hopes all things, endures all things.”
Passive compromise may be the wider, easier road to travel, but the narrow road of love and obedience will produce fruit that remains.

Considering the 2 candidates running for office of the President in 2020 and what GOD’S WORD says about “making your children to pass through the fire.” (Murder/Abortion) Forbidden! Or “man lying with man.” (Lbgtq) Abomination! “Lying, cheating, stealing.” Heading to the lake of fire if repentance doesn’t happen from the heart! Just to name a few, by all means not all wickedness from one side, this was an easy choice as a believer in our GOD, our LORD JESUS CHRIST and our HOLY SPIRIT! GOD’S HOLY WORD says, in Philippians 4:6: “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” My request is for this election fraud to be made crystal clear to all Americans and for President Donald J. Trump to win legally and for wicked, lying cheaters to be put in jail in JESUS MIGHTY Name! I pray what I believe is GOD’S WILL specifically and then I pray, nevertheless THY WILL be done in JESUS Name! Amen!
I pray God’s will be done, I also pray that righteous leaders that honor God and allow us freedom and life will prevail. That this election is so drawn out and such a fierce battle leads me to ask what lesson God is giving us. If His will were to give a decisive lead either way, we would see that clearly and accept it. Yet this is the most intense and close Presidential election in the nation’s history and in considering why I am very much given the message that this is what it feels like for the nation to be at a tipping point between mercy and wrath, between grace and judgment, between upholding the Judeo-Christian values of its founding and descending into depravity and sin that may never be undone. So I pray for God’s mercy, I pray that righteous leaders will prevail, I pray that the church will wake up and in asking for the blessing of continued freedom no longer abuse it and take it for granted but seek God’s wisdom and fight to win souls like never before. To me, this is God asking “Do you see what you deserve for turning your back on me? For allowing the church to mislead people and allowing sin to be called love and allowing pride over lust and taking the lives of the unborn? For not standing up firmly and united against this? Do you see that the blessing of freedom is not for your comfort or complacency but is to be used to fight at every turn for good? Do you see how much evil is fighting to take over this nation?” I believe it is just to plead to mercy, to recognize the battle being waged, to praise God for the freedoms we failed to fully utilize, and to humbly pray for a leader who will protect them for four more years as we commit to using them for God’s good and not to sit idly by. As we pray for God’s will to be done and recognize Him as the ultimate authority, we should also examine our roles in this fight and appeal for good and truth to prevail over this nation, understanding our role as Christians does not change based upon the President but will become much more difficult and potentially dangerous – facing persecution and legal barriers – if a leader supporting Marxism, government control, and redefining of this nation’s values becomes President.
The President won this fair and square legally…that’s why they stopped counting, America showed up for its President on or before Nov. 3rd more than ever before and so much more than they(the opposition) anticipated (remember Biden voter “fraud” team comment)-His team had a plan, but underestimated true American patriots on election day…Biden/Obama(not Harris) did not receive more legal votes this time around than they did 4 years ago when Hilary lost. The false media reporting that they did are doing so to deceive us into believing otherwise. …they needed the extra time to manufacture enough votes and at the same time throw away enough legitimate votes for the President in order to steal the win. They tried to steal the election 4 years ago, just needed 4 years to make sure they didn’t fail this time, they don’t care how blatantly obvious it is…I don’t think patriots will bow down to China and the dems as handily as the dems think though-true Americans will fight for what’s right…what the dems are doing is not right! I know the weapons of our warfare are not of this world, so we fight in prayer for spiritual matters, but we need to know how to fight on the ground and in the trenches. I think many of us want to, but just don’t know how to, who to go to or where to begin…
Heavenly Father, hallowed be Your name, Your Kingdom come Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver from the evil one.

Biblically God’s will is against unjust judges and those who take bribes, against offering up children to Moloch, against theft and falsehood, and perversion. We have a Constitution in our country-that is the law of our land-many of God’s people died birthing and defending it. There can be no pretense that ultimately both sides-good and evil-are of the the same preference to God or that conflict avoidance is commendable, indeed God has some words for cowards. “Is life so dear and peace so sweet as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery?” As Patrick Henry said “I think not”.

Praying the Will of God and praying my prayers are His will. Scripture pretty much tells us what His will is..obedience to His Word, and pretty itemized much of the time.. Being Lukewarm doesn’t get it. A candidate for most any office represents his party. There is no way a vote can be cast without being in agreement with them. It constitutes acting against His Will if voting party line for abortion. So then why try to counteract by praying His Will be done. I understand the writer has cast her vote for President Trump. But to not examine which political party platform fits best into God’s Holy Scriptures and then vote that party….to imply voting any-which-way and then pray His Will be done is reckless.

Wow. There is a spiritual battle raging against God’s people and His standard. There will be division! We cannot compromise God’s standard to assure unity. “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?” 2 Corinthians 6:14. God’s will does not always ensure unity, because all human beings don’t bow to God! We can’t assume that God’s will is not being done because of divisions between light and darkness. There have been prophecies about President Trump, one which says he would lead this nation back to God in 1983! Look up Hermit of Loreto Trump Prophecy. Also, I pray first and then vote. I don’t vote and then pray. We have the mind of Christ. 2 Corinthians 2:16. This is not over yet, and God will have the final say and His Will will be done! I pray for His will to be done in all things personal and national. But I believe it is quite obvious to those of us who have prayed for this nation for years and years (even before Trump) that Trump has been used to protect our religious freedoms which the enemy is using the other side to trample on by any means available, legal or illegal. As long as they are chipping away at our freedoms, there can be no unity. And while it is true that we don’t know what four more years of Trump will lead to, we have already had a taste of where eight years of democratic tyranny leads. I do believe that God has shown us that He is using Trump, so I believe in praying for Him, I am praying God’s will! I am standing in the gap for Trump, and in so doing I believe I am standing in the gap for religious freedom and protection of the unborn, which I believe are God’s will. Amen! Amen! Stephanie! I totally agree with you! JESUS even called Peter satan when Peter was speaking against GOD’S WILL! JESUS said “Get thee behind me satan” to Peter! Pray the WORD of GOD! This that we are facing is in the BIBLE somewhere, for “there is Nothing new under the sun” search and pray the SCRIPTURES!
Please forgive my slow response. Amen! You are right, God has never used a perfect man as there are none! Romans 3:23. Peter even went so far as to deny Jesus (Matthew 26:69-75), but then after the resurrection of our Lord, Peter was used mightily by God, he even raised a woman from the dead! Acts 9:36-40. Amen!!! God is in control at all times! He places Kings in position and He removes them. Saints, it’s easy to be anxious right now but we really shouldn’t be. Keep praying for His will to be done. And be encouraged in the Lord that whoever wins this election has been determined by God for his glory. Trust God, He will work it all out in the end, because He planned it all out.

I don’t agree with this prayer if what you are saying is that if the President is re-elected there will be upheaval this wouldn’t be good so maybe we are better off. It is not his fault this country is a mess. We are a mess in this country because we forgot God. If you are saying that the President will not heal America only God can do that well then I agree. Yes we pray for God’s will to be done but we know that we can request that we can have a fair election. We have the mind of Christ as believers and we can be discerning who to vote for. We have seen the attacks on president and that is not his fault. We know that Donald Trump is not racists and all the other names they call him. Jesus shook the Pharisees up. He was called a drunk and that was he was the devil when he healed people. People were no different in those days. They wanted Jesus dead as many want the President dead. Trump is not the savior and he doesn’t claim to be.
Jesus is Lord and he said if they hate me they will hate you. Many of God’s chosen were hated, John the
Baptist lost his head. Paul lost his head. That doesn’t mean we run and not fight the battle in prayer for this election because we
resolve that the President is too divisive. Any one who prayed for Biden to win after finding out how he didn’t save his own granddaughter from being sexual molested by his son after his own son told him he was not safe to be around children (all found on Hunter’s laptop and verified by the FBI) what kind of a man does this? What kind of a wife let’s her husband with Dementia run for office unless she is being blackmailed to save her family from prison. Joe Bobalinski ( Hunter’s a business partner )met with Joe Biden and verified Joe did know and lied that he didn’t know about his son’s business dealings. The Biden family received millions of dollars and the loans . Even if a person doesn’t want to believe this (which has been all covered up by the media )what does a Christian do with all the millions children aborted which will continue under Joe’s reign. Can God be for that? That is what the Democrat platform stands for. How could any Christian be praying Joe wins? That is unrighteousness. This is no longer a question of Republican or Democrat. This is a matter of good versus evil. God doesn’t care about what you call it. He calls it sin. Sin is sin. We have a responsibility as Christians to vote for righteous leaders. Donald Trump is not perfect and doesn’t pretend to be. He is not my pastor I already have a great pastor. But he stands for righteousness. Please don’t encourage people to remain neutral in prayer or pretend God is neutral or that God doesn’t care if we have Righteous Leaders. This is not like praying for your football team to win. We don’t know how God will work things out in this election but we know He will work it for good. When we don’t understand God we must trust and have faith. God is sovereign. But no where in His word are we to call evil good and good evil. To look the other way and pray for unrighteousness to prevail in this country is sin. We must continue to pray for God’s mercy and for this country to remain free for the sake of a worldwide revival.

Satan wants to steal this election from the church at the finish line. Revival is coming.
I completely agree. This time the line is very clear, is not about “political preferences”, it’s about good and evil, righteousness and unrighteousness.
“Woe to them that call evil good and good evil, that put darkness for light and light for darkness, that put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.” Isaiah 5:20.
It is not “our will be done” that we are praying for, as this article implies, it is His will as reveal to us in the Scriptures. I do not think it is right for the Church to stand in the fence and pray neutral prayers in the face of such darkness and evil. In fact, I believe that kind of passivity from the people of God has helped our nation get into the terrible situation we are in.

I think you need to re-read the article more carefully. Nowhere did Michael Brown say that we should pray for Joe Biden to win this election; nowhere did he say you should vote for the candidate who you think will bring more unity to avoid any potential upheaval afterwards. What he said was, we should always FIRST pray for God’s will to be done -because all Christians can pray for that in unity. What he said was, no matter who wins the election, there will be upheavals of many kinds, just in different arenas, depending on who wins; and therefore the need for continued prayer for God’s will to be done is just as important (if not more so) than praying about the election and its candidates. He did not call anything good that was evil, he just pointed out that even the wisest Christians can not FULLY know God’s plans. He certainly did not call for neutrality- he called for us to “to keep the pedal to the metal when it comes to desperate, sustained, fervent prayer. ONLY GOD CAN HEAL OUR WOUNDS…it would be a massive strategic mistake to let up in the intensity of our praying!” Nothing neutral about that. So rejoice! You and Michael Brown are in unity for the will and righteousness of God to prevail, and those things should be foremost in all of our prayers.

Glorious Father God of the whole earth. Send a cleansing to the election processes of the United States of America. Send your Holiness and Righteousness to this nation in its election processes. I release your judgements and deliverance to establish integrity in the voting procedures this season and for all seasons of voting in this country. I demand the enemy to completely release its grip of our nation’s elections in Jesus name. Father, I release Your heavenly justice to replace the deceptions, manipulations and thefts in the election balloting and the popular voting of the people’s referendums. Let your deliverance flow from the national to the local levels in Jesus name. And let there be peace in this nation, and we give all the glory to You for Your Mercy and Grace in Jesus name.
