I Prayed have prayed
Father, we ask You to dismantle the deceptions influencing Americans today. We pray that the people of this nation would look to Your Word for truth, not to the government or to different disclosures.

On June 6, one of our greatest film makers, Steven Spielberg, wants to have his own unique D-Day: The release of his first movie in ten years. Disclosure Day. The movie follows the unraveling of the cover-up and conspiracy of the United States government’s knowledge of extraterrestrial life.

Spielberg himself has said in several interviews that his film is far more of a documentary than a fictional tale, as evidence of alien life interacting with humans on Earth is “overwhelming.” The iconic director and producer is absolutely filled with hope that this knowledge can bring humanity together in a way nothing else can.

Except there is something else.

Disclosure Day also has a tantalizing and teasing promise: the revelation that humanity began by a higher order of being seeding the Earth with our beginning. This is nothing new, sadly. Hollywood and the sci-fi genre have had this alternate narrative running through them almost since the beginning: we are the creation of an alien race, so we can dispense with the idea that we will have to be personally accountable to the God of the Bible or any other superstition calling us to a moral and just framework of existence.

Strangely, this idea frees the humanist to believe in a higher power: themselves. After all, if an alien civilization can create the human race, what heights of creation might we ascend?

One is reminded of another incredibly influential and iconic work of science fiction, or rather a parody of it. Gene Wilder’s ascension speech in the 1974 comedy classic, Young Frankenstein- “From that fateful day when slime crawled from the ocean onto the shores and shouted at the cold stars, ‘I AM MAN!’ our greatest dread has been that of our own mortality. Tonight, we shall command the thunder! We shall mock the earthquake! We shall fling the gauntlet of science into the frightful face of death itself!”

As Christians, we understand who created us. Recent attempts from many directions, rooted in demonic influence, to once again replace the biblical narrative of creation have been discussed by the famous and influential podcaster and network founder Glenn Beck. His position is wonderfully simple: between an alien, a CIA operative, and God, who are you willing to believe?

The word of the Lord gives us our own evidence.

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. How precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of them! (Psalm 139:13-17)

Amen, and praise the Lord!
