[Survivors] in Moss Point, MS are telling their story after a tornado ripped through their town …

Chris Kirkland was out on the streets of Moss Point pretty quickly after the storm passed to help any resident in need.

“An old lady was hollering, and I was trying to see where it was coming from,” Kirkland told WLOX.

He located where the screams were coming from and discovered that two women were trapped …

“I had to rip some of the doors off that were on top of them. I got them out, and she said to go save the guy that was in the corner because a dumpster was on top of him,” Kirkland recalled. …

“I was asking God to give me strength to save these people and get them help,” he added. …

Samantha Woodward said she met Jesus during the storm. She told WLOX she’s grateful to have made it out alive. …

“Samantha Woodward said she met Jesus during the storm”

Psalm 107, Thanksgiving for Deliverance
https://biblehub.com/bsb/psalms/107.htm
V6 Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble and He delivered them from their distress.
V13 Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble and He saved them from their distress.
V19 Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble and He saved them from their distress.
V28 Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble and He brought them out of their distress.

Mark 4:37-41 Soon a violent windstorm came up, and the waves were breaking over the boat, so that it was being swamped. But Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on the cushion. So they woke Him and said, “Teacher, don’t You care that we are perishing?” Then Jesus got up and rebuked the wind and the sea. “Silence!” He commanded. “Be still!” And the wind died down, and it was perfectly calm. “Why are you so afraid?” He asked. “Do you still have no faith?”
Overwhelmed with fear, they asked one another, “Who is this, that even the wind and the sea obey Him?”

Dear Heavenly Father, in this year alone, so many lives have been upended and destroyed by an extreme number of tornados. You have heard me pray that they would call out to the You…especially those who have never done so. I believe the words of this Psalm because Years ago, You made them personal to me. I continue to pray in the midst of these, You will deliver, save and bring each supplicant out of their distress. May their fear perish as they meet their Lord and God. I ask this in the Name of the ONE who commands the wind and storms. I ask this in the Name of the ONE who delivers and saves. His Name Is Jesus Christ. Amen
