More than 535 defendants across nearly 50 states have been charged in the six months since the Jan. 6 breach of the Capitol Building, the Department of Justice (DOJ) stated on July 6.

That includes 495 defendants who have been charged with entering or remaining in a restricted federal building or grounds, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia said in a statement.

Nearly 235 defendants were charged with obstructing, influencing, or impeding an official proceeding, or attempting to do so, the office noted.

At least 165 defendants have been charged with assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers or employees, including more than 50 individuals who have been charged with using a deadly or dangerous weapon or causing serious bodily injury to an officer, the DOJ said.

So far, 10 people have pleaded guilty to a variety of federal charges, from misdemeanors to felony obstruction.

“This was not dissent. It was disorder,” President Joe Biden said in a statement on July 6 to mark the six-month anniversary of the U.S. Capitol breach. “It posed an existential crisis and a test of whether our democracy could survive—a sad reminder that there is nothing guaranteed about our democracy.” . . .

The Democrat-controlled House voted in favor of forming the panel on June 30, despite Republicans saying it isn’t necessary because investigations are already underway in other committees of jurisdiction. Cheney, a vocal critic of former President Donald Trump, will be the only Republican on the eight-member panel.

FBI Director Christopher Wray told an oversight hearing held by the House of Representatives Judiciary Committee last month that the FBI had divided the thousands of protesters who were at the Capitol on Jan. 6 into three groups: a first group of “peaceful, maybe rowdy” protesters who didn’t participate in the breach and who made up the largest group, a second group who engaged in criminal trespass of the Capitol Building, and a third group—the smallest in number—who were responsible for carrying weapons into the Capitol. . . .

The FBI director also testified that the law enforcement agency considered the events that unfolded on Jan. 6 to be an act of “domestic terrorism.” When asked by Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) whether the events could be considered an “insurrection,” Wray said it would be inappropriate to describe the breach as such.

“In my role as FBI director, because that’s a term that has legal meaning, I really have to be careful about using words like that,” Wray said, noting that what he says could affect ongoing criminal cases. . . .

On June 23, Indiana woman Anna Morgan-Lloyd, 49, was put on probation in the first sentencing stemming from the Jan. 6 breach.

Separately, reports of harsh conditions for pre-trial defendants have emerged in recent days. Two attorneys told NTD’s “The Nation Speaks” that more than 50 such defendants are being held pretrial in solitary confinement for 23 hours a day, in conditions that are “unconstitutional” and violate “every single basic human right.”

Ned Lang, the father of a defendant who he said is receiving particularly harsh treatment, told NTD that his son Jake is currently detained in a Washington prison in an area called “the hole.”

“[Jake] has no access to when [his attorney] goes down and talks to him. He has no access to a private interview with an attorney. It’s like you’re in a third-world country. It’s unbelievable,” Lang said. “From what he’s telling me and what I’m hearing, it’s solitary confinement 23 hours and one hour out a day. It’s horrible.

“These are Americans. We have individual rights. We have our Bill of Rights. This is inhumane treatment.” . . .

“I’m being told the water is black—he has to filter the water through a sock in order to even drink water,” Metcalf said. “In addition to only going out one hour a day, there’s also the weekend, [when] he doesn’t get out at all, and he’s not able to use a shower, get a shave for days on end.”

What do you think about the treatment that is being done to people who were arrested Jan.6? Let us know your thoughts and prayers for America in the comments below!

Lord Jesus please help these people that are being treated so badly. May they call on You and know that You are with them. Give them clean water, and time with their lawyers and family. Expose those who have ordered or allowed or imposed this harsh treatment. Lord and may they be held accountable. Let there be justice. Uproot, Reveal and Convict them of their sin and Lead them to Repentance and Deliverance through Your shed blood for them Jesus! Help many to have the courage to speak out against the inhumane treatment these prisoners are getting in the jails and prisons and be a Whistle blower and protect them. Help those working in the jails have compassion and do what is right. Help those imprisoned to feel Your Presence and Love and Protection. I pray they can have a Bible to read Your Word and find Comfort and Peace. Lord I do pray You will expose the truth for all to know what really happened and who really had the evil intent. If they are hiding evidence that would exonerate the innocent expose that. We ask You Father to shine a light on any corruption from the top to the bottom. Praise You Lord for hearing our cry to You for help. In the Precious Name of Jesus, Amen💕🙏

I believe this is a stunt to keep people afraid to exercise their rights. Too many crisscrossed accounts. We see videos of people ushered into the Capitol building by the police or people dressed up as police. Who would have been able to tell the difference. Please remember that the Capitol bldg belongs to “ We The People”. In other words “ We The People” are allowed in there. We also see video of people inside the Capitol building that day and acting with respect and peacefully. Yes, It is surly a mess but not a mess created by “ The People of the United States of America. But we’ve seem for four years how the Democrat party has used every possible means to persecute Trump and those who support him. This is a crime against the good citizens of America who went to Washington DC on January 6th to support our elected officials who were ready to stand against election fraud and peacefully voice their concerns about the 2020 election. It has always seemed suspicious to me that suddenly everything changed and suddenly good citizens are being accused of insurrection? Very many of the good citizens there that day were praying. Yes praying. They were there worshiping God and praying for truth to be revealed. Well I think truth is being revealed in the persecution of honest hardworking Christians and good American citizens. This is surly persecution. But remember this, This is how the communist treat those who disagree with them. They Lock them away and treat them like dogs. Well guess what? This is America! We don’t do this to people who did nothing wrong except disagree. We should all be deeply concerned. Lord, who are these godless pagans who come against the people of God with lies and deceptions? Lord, let truth prevail. Uncover the liars and deceivers who are reeking havoc over Your country and Your people. By the power given us in the name of Jesus Christ I speak truth over this nation. By the power given to us I declare truth be spoken in the halls of Congress by the people of God through Jesus Christ our Lord by the power of Your Holy Spirit…. In Jesus name Amen

Why were charges not filed on all the protesters during the earlier riots in our cities? This administration is so biased it is disheartening. I pray GOD will hear our prayers for justice. But I do also acknowledge that it is all in HIS hands.
