Just when you think the corruption in our government can’t get any worse, we are proved wrong. Just after midnight Wednesday, March 9, the Democrats posted the Omnibus Bill on their website. Touted as “necessary to keep the lights on” the 1.5 trillion-dollar bill was anything but that. In their strategically devious move to hide what they were doing, the Democrats posted the bill at 12:30 a.m.to hide the fact that they had reverted to one of their favorite tactics—earmark projects. In the bill they had inserted millions of dollars of earmarks also known as pork-barrel spending. Although the practice was banned in 2011, the Dems added 367 pages worth of unnecessary spending of our tax dollars to projects for their home states or projects to please big donors as an incentive to be re-elected.
According to Rep Marjorie Taylor-Greene (R-GA) the Democrats snuck it in during the dead of night. It was voted on and approved just 2 hours after it was posted—while the majority of unsuspecting Congress members were asleep.
“How Congress should work, but it doesn’t work this way since Pelosi has been speaker, is an appropriations bills is something that every member of Congress can go and put in amendments and debate on the bill. And once it goes to the Rules Committee that is where we can go and argue back and forth to try to put amendments and try to put changes. …In the dark of night, the Democrat-run Rules Committee met at 1:30 in the morning and by 2:30 a.m. early this morning they had passed the 1.5 trillion dollar Omnibus bill and they released the bill text. So for all of us here in Washington, when we woke up, we found out it was too late to go in and try to put amendments in or try to argue back and try to get things removed from this horrendous 1.5 trillion dollar spending bill. Rep. Chuck Schumer added at least 59 earmarks totaling $80 million in just one section of the bill, transportation and housing and urban developments and nearly $11 million added in 10 earmarks in the energy and water development section. Sen. Mike Braun (R-IN) said he counted 142 earmarks by Schumer alone.
But while the Democrats owned the dastardly deed of hiding the overspending in the bill, it was by no means only Democrats who added to the pork.
Sen. Richard Shelby (R-AL) the ranking member on the Senate Appropriations Committee added 16 earmarks totaling nearly $650 million. And Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VA) added 79 earmarks totaling $162.2 million according to a report from The Hill.
Oklahoma Senator Nathan Dahm, a contender for Senator Jim Inhofe’s seat when he steps down in December, is a long-time opponent of earmarks and has a plan to remove them. “I’ve seen the effects of inflation first hand. We can’t keep doing omnibus pork spending and robbing our children and grandchildren of their future by putting them further in debt,” he stated.
“I support federal single-subject legislation so only one topic can be dealt with (in a bill) at a time. This is in our state constitution in Oklahoma but so as far as I know, it has not been introduced at the federal level. Single-subject legislation would allow that for every 100 pages of a bill, it must be available to be read for one day. For example, a 500-page bill would have to be available to be read five days prior to a vote.”

I bring to Your rememberance that Nancy Pelosi, in a letter to the Democrats on June 15, 2020 [Article “Pelosi Takes Bible Verses Wildly Out of Context to Affirm Radical Agenda,” written by C. Douglas Golden in the Western Journal] quoted Isaiah 2:12 and Isaiah 10:1-2. I had prayed that Pelosi had spoken a prophetic word (harbinger, curse) over themselves.
12 For the LORD of hosts will have a day of reckoning
Against everyone who is proud and lofty
And against everyone who is lifted up,
That he may be abased. (Isaiah 2:12)
1 Woe to those who enact evil statutes
And to those who constantly record unjust decisions,
2 So as to deprive the needy of justice
And rob the poor of My people of their rights,
So that widows may be their spoil
And that they may plunder the orphans. (Isaiah 10:1-2)
Lord, we are to pray that Your will be done. I know that Your will is that Your truth, Your justice and Your righteousness reign in every aspect of life here on earth. It is NOT!!! I know that we are to pray for all those who are lost. There are so many who are making decisions for the country, do not know You nor Your Son. I pray that You will do what is necessary to remove the scales from their eyes so that they will see the error of their ways, their sinfulness, and their need for Jesus Christ to save them. Do whatever it will take to get their attention. They are destroying this country, either deliberately or they are deceived and don’t know what they are doing. Regardless, I pray that if those who are destroying this country will not repent and turn from their wicked ways, that You will bring them down. As Your word also says, “26 “Therefore do not fear them, for there is nothing concealed that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. (Matthew 10:26) So, according to Your word, I am praying that all those who are working behind closed doors in secret, will not be able to hide the truth from us any longer. Call out all those who are lying, manipulating information, and deceiving us. Do not let them be able to hide the truth any longer. This includes our current Administration and government, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, FoxNews Channel and anybody else that I left out. Bring our nation back to You, Lord! We desperately need You!

I pray these congress people think of the future of our kids. They need to take care of this country by following our laws. Pray for Lord to take care of America, Ukraine, Israel.

It should be challenged or ignored, as it was illegal to do. It should also be illegal for any members of Congress to be able to pass laws outside daylight working hours. “… but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil.” (John 3:19)
It’s already against the law, but that just shows us their respect our country and us.
Jesus, we Need You to REMAKE this nation! “Just before it voted to approve the omnibus bill on Thursday, the Senate rejected an amendment by Sen. Mike Braun, R-Ind., to strip each of the earmarks from the package. The vote wasn’t close — only 35 senators sided with Braun, who said the earmarks — spending that had not been greenlit by Congress’s authorizing committees — encompassed 367 pages, weighed five pounds when printed, and showed “the swamp is rising again.”

Father, I confess our corruption of l in our government and the idol of power. I pray you would change the hearts of our leaders from love of power to fear of the Lord and righteous leadership. I praise you for your mercy and grace and the revival you are bringing. Soften many hearts that they may surrender themselves to you. In pray for the coming elections and primaries: local, state, and national. May they be honest ones. Thank you for your love and protection.

I believe that American Citizens are being grossly misrepresented, when legislation can be passed without the proper channels, and I am totally in favor of single topic legislation, and not in favor of all the riders being attached to a major bill. this wild spending of citizen’s tax deposits must come to an end, and reckless borrowing from other nations. the only way to get out of debt is to stop unnecessary spending and increase income, that is what I expect of our government, not to spend without our future sustainability as a priority. Our current governmental trend needs to be corrected and held in strict accountability, they are supposed to be protecting our Christian heritage and the American tradition. America is a separate nation in the world with distinct characteristics, why should we change who we are to make others comfortable?
We invite people to come to our country to enjoy freedom and to pursue happiness. Why should people of all nations desire to come to America, if we are going to be like the countries they were fleeing? I felt overwhelmed when praying this morning. As we continue to appeal to the Lord for an end to abortion, lawlessness, war, godlessness… an endless number of needs, I was reminded of praise. Leah named her fourth son Judah, praise the Lord. During the Exodus, when the Israelites wandered in the wilderness, Judah went first as they marched out from camp. Praise preceded all. We are His and He called us out of the darkness into His marvelous light. I praise the Lord over the nation’s leaders. I praise the Lord over the nation’s wombs. I praise the Lord over the nation’s borders. I praise the Lord over the neglected and persecuted. I praise the Lord over everything that unsettles us. May He cause righteousness and praise to spring up before all the nations of the world. Praise and Glory, Wisdom and Thanks, Honor and Power and Strength…forever and ever, amen.
During these times with inflation…taxes(yes Jo)…no border so people are hurting in Texas-Arizona…no oil being allowed to be processed!! It concerns me that peeps like Schumer…Pelosi…Durbin and others are destroying America. Some day we will find out that the democratic party was taken over by Socialist and has attempted a destroying of our government. They might succeed if they can slowly wear us down monetarily.
I totally agree with Sen Nathan Dahm regarding single topic legislation. They are passing laws that are totally unlike the way they are described. Speak up loudly Sen Dahm, Voters need to know that deception is not the norm – or at least shouldn’t be.
Regarding your “Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VA):” Mr. Leahy is NOT a senator for VA, but for VT.

The corruption in our government just increases every day. How long will God put up with the nation He blessed from its beginning to the present with unprecedented wealth, standard of living and provisions like no other in history, to ignore Him and go their own evil way? America is not referred to in the Bible and it is possible this current war started by Russia could progress into a world war that could take down the US.
Thank you for giving us meaningful prayers to pray at this difficult time in our Country since things are so dark and troubling that we are at a loss for words.
Our government is SO corrupt. This type of action is quite deceitful, and needs to be banned. WHERE do these people think that the money is coming from? This whole mess is but a symptom of the times that we are living in. Our government has gone absolutely crazy, acting like money is no problem. Well, they need to wake up and realize that this crazy, misguided, evil behavior is unsustainable, not to mention, just plain wrong! Lord Jesus, please, intervene in our out- of- control mess that WE have created. You are our hope. Thank you, Lord.
As I read some of the comments I too am disgusted, disappointed and so discouraged with each bit of news I hear like this one today, of the passage of this bill. And “pork” was outlawed! How do they continue to run our beloved country into the ground while we watch and wonder what to do? I am praying, I vote, try to get correct information – which is a real challenge – the media has such a stranglehold on the public narrative they push, the thing is their bought and paid for narrative looks nothing like the reality we ordinary American citizens are living every day – we know we have been lied to for the past two years about everything in order to keep us filled with fear and under control. I’m a bit taken back that a practice that was banned in 2011 is now…all of a sudden okay to use again?? Did they place a “write- around law” in secret, behind closed doors, to do this?
We’ve reached a sad place in our government conduct when those conducting business become a law into themselves instead of upholding proper financial principles of the people. They can no longer hide behind the covid lie “extension”. There’s something seriously wrong and deeply corrupt/evil when politicians purposely hide the things they’re doing. They know full well that people do NOT agree with this. People by the millions, throughout this nation raised their voice repeatedly against wasteful spending… but they went ahead and did it anyway.
I’m saddened inside myself, that elected officials and the people who surround them don’t have the faintest idea of how to properly manage our money but worse, they simply don’t care. We can talk all we want about the pressures they feel but that’s just part of what people sign up for when you take the job. It’s not an excuse to run roughshod over the taxpayers of our nation. And it’s certainly not an excuse for not being accountable.
Many people in DC and other gov’t jobs, who pretend to serve, must be thrown out of office. Concerned taxpayers in various cities & states have got to get serious about removing these people NOT just by voting them out but by finding every other legal way to remove them. As much as I’d like to say vote them out, we know there are many states with active election fraud to keep the criminals in office. Get involved with any organizations that are serious in election integrity and also removing officials through legal means.
Many ancient governments dealt with traitors with deliberate justice. I’m beginning to believe we need to adopt the same methods in our nation because we have officials who do whatever they please and avoid all legal consequences.
I knew about this Omnibus Bill a week ago and I knew it would be introduced and voted on, so this was no “surprise pass in the dark of night” bill. I really believed the Republicans would stop it!
Any elected Senator or House Member has an obligation to READ (5000 pages) of what they are voting on!
Any who do not READ should be impeached and told to go home! I’ll take their place and do their voting for them.

Also, why are Americans not told about these bills before they are voted on? I knew because I seek information. Others find out by word of mouth, but too many are not informed or they are misinformed and we need a fool-proof way of getting information about bills to all Americans before being voted on.

Father, I remember the pork barrel spending in the 1970’s that caused hyper inflation and tremendous social problems. But, just like in Your Word, kings who did good from Your perspective and King’s who did evil from Your perspective either led Israel to blessings or curses.
Father, if You have found 10 righteous people in the United States of America, reject this Congress for Your name, for Your fame, in Your name and restore Your blessings upon us. Amen.
