From Fox News:
Former FBI Director James Comey pleaded not guilty to charges of allegedly making false statements and obstruction of a congressional hearing during his first court appearance in Virginia on Wednesday.
The former FBI director appeared at 10 a.m. ET in the Albert V. Bryan United States Courthouse in Alexandria, Va. Comey’s wife, Patrice, and daughter, Maureen, were spotted waiting in line outside the courthouse Wednesday morning.
District Judge Michael S. Nachmanoff, an appointee of former President Joe Biden, presided over the hearing. Comey’s lawyer, Patrick Fitzgerald, told Nachmanoff that representing Comey “is the honor of my life” and that his team would be filing motions alleging a vindictive and retaliatory prosecution, grand jury abuse and outrageous government conduct.
Fox notes that Fitzgerald also promised to bring a motion against Lindsey Halligan, the prosecutor spearheading the case against Comey, alleging she was “unlawfully appointed as U.S. Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia.” Judge Nachmanoff said a separate judge would have to preside over such a motion.
Comey reportedly spoke once during the court appearance, informing the judge that he understood the charges against him. Judge Nachmanoff set oral argument dates for November 19 and December 9. He also specified that a jury trial will begin on January 5, 2026.
As IFA reported last month, Comey is being charged with making a false statement before Congress and obstructing a criminal case. According to the Department of Justice, Comey lied to the Senate in September of 2020. He told Senators that he had not authorized anyone at the FBI to be an anonymous source in news reports, a fact the DOJ alleges he knew to be untrue.
As both Comey and the DOJ await oral arguments, let’s pray for the truth to be revealed and for justice to be delivered.

My prayer is that God’s will prevails in this situation.
What is saddest to me, is the fact that guilty people so often resort to self-justification and denial instead of repentance in Godly fear, and acceptance of personal responsibility. They cut themselves off from any hope of redemption and forgiveness. That is true of all of us, since we have all sinned and come short of the glory of YHVH. His is an example, not to follow.
May truth and justice prevail, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Let all corruption be revealed, and Lord Jesus, bring a wave of repentance over this great nation. YOUR will be done Father, not the will of man. Amen.
Father, I pray that truth would prevail. May this not be seen as retaliation, but as justice happening to those who violated the law. May the judge and jurors act in righteousness and truth.
For someone in our government to use the law to go after those that offend them is never right….even when Trump does it.
It isn’t a case of revenge but of justice.
